Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have all been tipped to replace Daniel Craig as the Secret Service agent.
And now the latter, who The Sun exclusively told had been formally offered the role last year, has given another huge clue he'll be Bond.
We first reported the Marvel movie star had emerged as a surprise frontrunner three years ago, and now Aaron, 34, has signed a deal with Bond watch providers Omega that appears to prove it.
The brand has been supplying timepieces to the iconic literary and movie character since the release of 1995 flick, Golden Eye.
Aaron has now joined the firm's roster of global ambassadors, with a promotional image showing the Kick-Ass and Avengers movies staring into a cabinet filled with the classy wrist-watches.
This could be yet another clue that he has bagged the Bond gig.
NEW BOND?
In 2022, The Sun revealed that Aaron was in the running for the job after secretly screen testing for Bond movie supremo Barbara Broccoli at Pinewood Studios.
A source previously told us: 'Bond is Aaron's job, should he wish to accept it.
"The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back."
When asked previously whether he would step into Bond's shoes, Aaron said: 'I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role.
Brit acting legend admits he wants to play James Bond saying 'the world's gone crazy' if Amazon casts a US star for 007
"I take it as a great compliment.'
BRIT BOND
Recently, Bond franchise expert Mark O'Connell told how he believed fans will know the next suave spy's identity by the summer.
Appearing on Nick Ferrari's LBC radio show, he said he wanted Bond to remain British and favoured a non A-list name.
He said: "Henry Cavill could be back in the running now. Amazon's choice could be different to the Broccolis. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, a new guy called Harris Dickinson, keep an eye on him."
Timeline of James Bond actors
Over the years there have been seven actors who have played 007.
The first ever James Bond film was in 1962, and this is who has played the lead role over the years: Sean Connery - The late star was the first ever actor to play Bond, and reprised the role for seven movies.
George Lazenby - The star only played Bond once, but was the youngest actor to ever play the spy.
Roger Moore - The late movie star spent 12 years making seven films in the famous franchise.
Timothy Dalton - The smooth actor took over from Roger Moore and appeared in The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill.
Pierce Brosnan - The handsome star played Bond for four movies from 1995 to 2002.
Daniel Craig - The British star was the first blonde James Bond and the sixth actor to win the role in 2005.
Days ago it was confirmed that Bond will still be a British man despite being sold to 'woke' Hollywood streaming site Amazon.
Before giving up ownership of the popular film franchise, 007's stewards Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson insisted the spy would retain his nationality and gender.
Ms Broccoli, who took over the Bond brand from company Eon Productions alongside Mr Wilson in 1995, made the arrangement before she agreed to sell the rights to Amazon in a £770million deal.
Insiders have hit back at fears the streaming giant - owned by Jeff Bezos - will turn Bond 'woke'.
An insider told the Mail on Sunday: 'Amazon is committed to keeping the spirit of Bond alive and that means he has to be British or from the Commonwealth - and he has to be male.'
Half-siblings Barbara Broccoli, 64, and Michael G Wilson, 83, took over the Bond franchise from their father and stepfather Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli - who bought the film rights from Bond creator Ian Fleming in 1961.
Since then there have been 25 movies - where Bond defeats villains bent on destruction, all while drinking martinis and seducing women.

Rose West welcomes granddaughter after paedophile son has baby with former model
Serial killer Rose West has become a grandmother again after her paedophile son Stephen, 51, and his fiancée Emma Bradley, 39, welcomed a baby girl named Eden. Rose West has welcomed another grandchild into the world after her son fathered a child with an ex-glamour model. Stephen West and his betrothed Emma Bradley are now parents to little Eden, yet 71 year old Rose, behind bars serving a whole life term, will never meet her newest grandchild due to Stephen severing all contact with his notorious mother. Despite the trepidation of Emma's kin over their romance, given Stephen's past conviction in 2004 for underage sex offences, the couple forged ahead. The 51 year old who once lived in the gruesome family home confessed: "There's a bit of my dad in me." His infamous father, Fred West, committed a series of murders with Rose between 1967 and 1987 in Gloucestershire. In 1995, Fred was discovered deceased in his cell. Nearly three decades into her incarceration, Rose has reportedly ceased efforts to contest her judgment since 2001 and seems to accept her fate in prison. Now, insiders relay to The Sun that Stephen and Emma plan to exchange vows come August at Newport's Celtic Manor hotel, reports the Mirror. Despite this happy occasion, it is understood from a source that Emma's family remains unsupportive of the match, discomforted by Stephen and citing "a rift" created in the family. Emma, a trained nurse stationed at Gloucester Royal Hospital, brings two daughters from a former relationship into the fold. Following unsettling reports indicating that Rose may be struggling with her health and has been transferred to a disabled room in prison "because she can barely walk," Emma disclosed that she and her partner were oblivious as they maintain no contact. Acknowledging that they've watched the new Netflix documentary Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story, Emma revealed that her fiancé Stephen "doesn't want to say anything because his main priority is the little ones." She elaborated: "He is adamant, at this time of his life he's got a young family to protect." Stephen, himself a grandfather, has eight children from two previous marriages. As for Rose's experiences behind bars, an insider divulged to The Sun: "She never really leaves the wing she's held on and is escorted all the time by prison officers if she goes anywhere. Sometimes she sits in the communal areas on her own. "No one talks to her because everyone knows who she is and what she did, even if she has changed her name. When I was there, she tried to make friends with the other women and gave them gifts, like vapes, but she was rejected. She likes to watch nature documentaries on the TV in her cell, especially ones about birds." In an effort to distance herself from her heinous acts, it's purported that West shelled out £36 to officially adopt the name Jennifer Jones. Reports suggest she went through the deed poll process last December, expressing to acquaintances that it represents a step towards moving forward. Nonetheless, her true identity remains common knowledge at the all-female HMP New Hall near Wakefield in West Yorkshire. Some prisoners reject her overtures of companionship, leading her to consume tomato soup solitarily in her cell for breakfast, followed by prolonged periods of knitting and conversing with the television due to her limited mobility. West is currently detained in New Hall's designated section called Rivendell House, where she occupies one of the 30 en-suite cells available to inmates, each furnished with a laptop for ordering food. Inspection reports suggest that the shared spaces in this unit are "more inviting" compared to other areas within the prison.

Reason Gary Lineker's final interview with Mohamed Salah was 'scrapped' revealed
Gary Lineker's interview with Mohamed Salah was due to air after his BBC exit (Picture: PA) The alleged reason for Gary Lineker's final blow from the BBC ahead of his exit has been revealed. Lineker, 64, bowed out of presenting Match of the Day last month after 26 years at the helm. It was initially claimed that the sports pundit was due to interview Liverpool star Mohamed Salah before his exit, but the BBC has scotched reports that the reason they put a stop to the interview was because they feared discussions would turn political. The broadcaster has now made it clear that 'the only reason' the interview was cancelled was because of when it was due to air. A source allegedly told The Sun: 'The plan was for the interview to be shown across the BBC the weekend of Gary's final Match of the Day. 'That would include on Football Focus the day before, as well as online and on social media.' Last month, Lineker signed off from hosting Match of the Day after 26 years (Picture: Nick Potts/PA Wire) But 'out of nowhere, it got cancelled' by Director of Sport Alex Kay-Jelski, who took over the role from Barbara Slater last April. 'Some people think they didn't want Gary and Mo to talk about Gaza,' said the source. 'Salah has spoken out in his support for Palestinians living in Gaza, and Gary has made his feelings clear too.' Bosses reportedly feared the ongoing war would 'come up naturally in conversation'. Consequently, the BBC preferred to 'axe' the interview rather than 'risk possible editorial issues'. 'They'd only just overcome one storm, so to face another would have been a nightmare.' It's reported there is 'no love lost' between the pundit and the BBC's Director of Sport (Picture: Ash Knotek/Shutterstock for AWEu) To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page But when contacted for comment, a BBC spokesperson told Metro that the interview was actually scrapped for a different reason. 'The only reason the interview was cancelled was because it was planned to air after Gary's last match of the day, and it would be wrong to suggest anything else,' they said. It comes after a source also previously told The Sun that Lineker was 'well-liked' among his co-stars ahead of his departure. Lineker's final MOTD aired last Sunday, which he fronted alongside pundits Micah Richards and Alan Shearer, with whom he also presents the Rest Is Football podcast. He announced his departure from the BBC following a row after he shared a post about Zionism, which featured a depiction of a rat, historically an antisemitic insult. Lineker, the BBC's highest-paid presenter on a £1.4million salary, issued an unreserved apology over the Instagram Story, as it was confirmed he would leave his presenting role at the Beeb early and would no longer front coverage of the 2026 World Cup or next season's FA Cup. Lineker fought back tears in his final MOTD sign-off (Picture: PA/BBC) 'On Instagram I reposted material which I have since learned contained offensive references,' he said in a statement at the time. 'I very much regret these references. 'I would never knowingly share anything antisemitic. It goes against everything I believe in.' Lineker deleted the post 'as soon as [he] became aware of the issue.' In his final sign-off from the highlights show, he struggled to speak through tears. Lineker described his time on the programme as 'utterly joyous' as he thanked his co-stars and those working behind the scenes. 'Let me take this opportunity to thank all of the other pundits I've had the pleasure of working with over the last 25 years. You've made my job so much easier,' he began. The footie icon said it was a 'privilege' to front the highlights show for so long (Picture: Darren Staples/AFP via Getty Images) Lineker continued: 'Also, a huge thank you to those you don't see at home. The work that goes into making this iconic show is a huge team effort, from the editors to the analysis team to the commentators to the producers to the floor managers to the camera operators to the PAs to the subs. Thank you, all. You're the very best. 'Rather like my football career, everyone else did all the hard work, and I got applauded. 'It's been an absolute privilege to have hosted Match of the Day for a quarter of a century; it's been utterly joyous.' Reflecting on his final show afterwards on his podcast, Lineker admitted he 'struggled' to 'keep it together' when a montage of his career highlights was shown. Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates, and Mark Chapman will replace the Leicester-born star and share the presenting role from the next Premier League season, with Lineker wishing them 'all the very best when they sit in this chair'.
