First look: Riyadh Air unveils stunning cabin design ahead of launch late 2025
The showcased layouts, which the airline revealed on Saturday, aim 'to blend luxury and comfort, promising a premium experience across all classes.'
Tony Douglas, Riyadh Air CEO, said, 'The design, layout, and features of our new cabins are carefully crafted to ensure flights are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.'
Douglas added, 'From the ergonomic and luxurious fabrics in the seats to the high-end technology used in the entertainment systems, every facet of the cabins has been chosen to deliver relaxing luxury.'
Douglas had said in 2023 that the airline would not have First Class seats; the Business Elite seats are probably an alternative.
Having recently received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from Saudi aviation authorities and taken delivery of its first technical spare aircraft, Riyadh Air is expected to announce its network and first flight date in the coming months.
What to expect from Riyadh Air?
The airline said its cabin interiors feature a consistent design across the fleet, ensuring a unified product for passengers.
Business Elite and Business Class
Both classes will feature Safran Unity seats in a 1-2-1 configuration with fully flat beds measuring 78 inches in length and 22.5 inches in width. Business Elite will have 4 seats, and Business Class will have 24. Both offer 52-inch-high walls, sliding privacy doors, and adjustable privacy dividers for centre seats in Business. Business Elite will also feature a double bed option in the front row's centre seats.
Premium Economy
This cabin will have 39 seats in a 2-3-2 layout, with a 38-inch seat pitch and a width of 19.2 inches. Features include privacy head wings, increased storage, an expandable side table, and a calf rest.
Economy
The Economy cabin will have 223 seats in a 3-3-3 layout, offering a 31-inch pitch and a width of 17.2 inches. Seats will have 6-way adjustable headrests.
According to the carrier, all classes will be equipped with large 4K OLED entertainment screens. Business Elite will have 32-inch screens, the largest in Business Class. In contrast, Business Class will have 22-inch screens, Premium Economy 15.6-inch screens, and Economy 13.4-inch screens.
Regarding technology deployed, the airline promises lighting and audio, including integrated suite lighting and embedded headrest speakers for Business and Business Elite passengers. Free high-speed Wi-Fi will be available to loyalty program members across all cabins.
All seats in Business Elite and Business will have A/C power, two USB-C, and one USB-A charging point. Premium Economy seats will feature four USB-C charging points, while Economy seats will have two.
Commenting on the design and materials used for the aircraft, Riyadh Air said the cabin interiors reflect 'Saudi heritage with a modern touch'.
'Lavender tones will bring elegance to Economy, while Mocha Gold metallic elements will add sophistication to premium classes,' the airline explained. Seats are ergonomically crafted with plush foam and premium fabrics with tufted stitching.

Lenovo reinforces its commitment to the KSA with appointment of new executive leadership team
Lenovo has announced the appointment of its executive leadership team for Saudi Arabia, marking a key milestone in the company's regional growth strategy and its plans to establish Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in Riyadh. Set to be located in the iconic Al Majdoul Tower, the RHQ highlights Lenovo's long-term commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and advancing the Kingdom's digital transformation and economic diversification agenda. This announcement forms part of Lenovo's strategic collaboration with ALAT, a Public Investment Fund (PIF)-owned company, aimed at accelerating Lenovo's ongoing transformation and further expanding its global manufacturing footprint. As part of this collaboration, Lenovo and ALAT broke ground in February 2025 on a 200,000 sqm advanced manufacturing facility in the 'Riyadh Integrated' area of the city operated by Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ), which is expected to begin producing millions of 'Saudi Made' devices by 2026. In parallel, Lenovo is progressing plans to establish its RHQ in Riyadh. The RHQ will support Lenovo's broader regional strategy, including investments in a flagship retail space, VIP customer center, R&D, marketing, and strategic partnerships across Saudi Arabia. The headquarters will be in the prestigious Al Majdoul Tower which is already home to a number of PIF entities, government entities, and tech companies. Strategic Appointments to Drive Regional Growth Lenovo has appointed Lawrence Yu as Head of Regional Headquarters, whilst Giovanni Di Filippo has been appointed as Vice President & General Manager for Lenovo Saudi Arabia, and Zoran Radumilo has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Lenovo Saudi Arabia. Mr. Lawrence Yu, who has worked for Lenovo for 15 years, played a pivotal role in the completion of Lenovo's strategic partnership with ALAT and the planning of the Riyadh manufacturing site. Previously serving as General Manager of Lenovo Retail Solutions globally, Mr. Yu led the division to record-breaking performance, achieving 40% annual revenue growth over five years. Under his leadership, the division also earned the prestigious Edison Award for Commercial Technology, only the second time in Lenovo's history. Mr. Yu, who holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, has also worked closely with Lenovo's Chairman and CEO during a transformative period for the company, contributing to major strategic deals and global expansion. In his current role, he oversees Lenovo's regional headquarters, ALAT partnerships and manufacturing milestones, driving the company's footprint in alignment with Saudi Arabia's industrial and digital ambitions. Mr. Di Filippo assumes responsibility for all business units within Lenovo Saudi Arabia, including the Intelligent Devices Group (IDG), Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), and Solutions & Services Group (SSG). With a proven track record as President of EMEA ISG, where he led market share growth from 6% to 14%, Mr. Di Filippo will spearhead Lenovo's hypergrowth strategy in the Kingdom, fostering cross-portfolio synergies and advancing the company's regional sales organization. Mr. Radumilo brings over 25 years of global enterprise technology leadership to his role as CTO. His expertise spans AI, cloud, and software solutions, with a strong focus on emerging markets. Prior to joining Lenovo, he served as President of Global Emerging Markets and EMEA South & LATAM at industrial AI and software company IFS, contributing to the company's growth from a USD 1 billion to USD 10 billion valuation. At Lenovo Saudi Arabia, Mr. Radumilo will lead sector-specific go-to-market strategies across key verticals including government entities, energy, telecommunications, smart cities, and financial services. Establishing a Regional Hub for Innovation and Manufacturing The leadership appointments coincide with Lenovo's plans to establish regional headquarters in Riyadh. Wealth Fund Cleans House of Key US Tech and Logistics Stocks
Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds with nearly $1 trillion in assets, has completely divested from six prominent U. S.-listed firms during the second quarter of 2025. Filings reveal that PIF no longer holds any shares in Meta, Shopify, PayPal, Alibaba, Nu Holdings or FedEx. At the end of March, the fund still held significant stakes—for example, nearly 668,000 class A shares of Meta and 1.76 million shares of PayPal—yet by the close of June, it had fully exited these positions. This strategic shift resulted in a reduction of PIF's disclosed U. S. equity holdings from $25.5 billion in Q1 to $23.8 billion in Q2, including call options. The divestments occurred during a period when U. S. markets were rebounding from April's losses tied to tariff policy uncertainty. This recalibration aligns with PIF's broader Vision 2030 mandate, under which the fund is increasingly directing its capital toward domestic megaprojects like NEOM, as well as global sectors such as tourism, clean energy, logistics, and elite sports investments. ADVERTISEMENT In the second quarter, PIF's heaviest exposures remained in sectors aligned with innovation and entertainment. According to its Q2 13F filing, the top holdings comprised Uber, Electronic Arts, Lucid and Take-Two Interactive, maintaining a concentrated portfolio weighted toward high-growth technology and gaming assets. By contrast, positions in firms like Meta, PayPal and Alibaba—which once formed a portion of its U. S. portfolio—were eliminated entirely. The timing suggests a deliberate shift away from large-cap tech and fintech, perhaps reflecting changing priorities amid global market volatility and evolving geopolitical considerations. Exiting stakes in Meta and Shopify, which represented substantial tech exposure, signals a pivot toward sectors considered more resilient or strategically aligned with long-term national ambitions. PIF's move exemplifies its dual-track strategy: while shedding exposure to certain U. S.-listed technology and logistics firms, it continues to cement core holdings in key global brands and innovative sectors. As PIF steers more resources toward domestic transformation and sustainable sectors, its shifting portfolio underscores how sovereign wealth strategy can reflect broader economic and policy imperatives.
