Kasrawy, Jetour to establish $123mln factory to assemble Jetour models in Egypt

Arab Finance: Automakers Kasrawy Group and Jetour inked an agreement to develop a new factory to locally assemble the Jetour T1 and T2 models, with an investment of $123 million, according to a statement.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that the joint deal marks a significant move forward in the localization of the automotive industry in Egypt.
To be established on an area of 86,000 square meters in the 6th of October Industrial Zone, the new factory will include three production lines for welding, painting, and final assembly.
Its production will cover the local market's needs, with a portion allocated for export. The factory will offer around 1,500 job opportunities.
On his part, Mohamed El Kasrawy, Chairman of Kasrawy Group, announced the launch of the locally-assembled X70 Plus Jetour model, with an annual production capacity of 5,000 vehicles.

The summit convened regulators from the Middle East and Africa, along with representatives from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Broadband Association (WBBA) and various industry experts. During the event, participants shared insights on diverse topics, ranging from network assessment techniques to emerging technologies and their impact on regulations, and the importance of data-driven insights. Furthermore, the regulatory summit highlighted the increasing role of crowdsourced data in telecom regulations and ways in which regulators can leverage it to identify service gaps, promote digital inclusion, drive innovation and accelerate market growth. By complementing traditional data sources, crowdsourced data enables more adaptive and competitive regulatory frameworks. During the event, discussions emphasised the vital role of high-speed internet connectivity in driving socio-economic development across the MEA region. According to studies, improvements in broadband speeds can contribute to GDP growth and improved labour productivity. In the region, investments in fixed broadband infrastructure, especially for the expansion of fibre-optic networks, are vital for improving service quality, bridging the digital divide, and attracting foreign investments. Participants also highlighted the need for comprehensive network assessments and extended regulatory oversight, especially for emerging services and indoor connectivity. Egypt: Domty logs 93% YoY lower consolidated profits in Q1 2025

Arabian Food Industries Company (Domty) generated consolidated net profits after tax attributable to the parent company valued at EGP 10.592 million in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, according to the financial results. The recorded profits were 93.09% lower than EGP 153.302 million in Q1 2024. Earnings per share (EPS) plummeted to EGP 0.03 in Q1 2025 from EGP 0.44 a year earlier, while the net sales dropped to EGP 2.251 billion from EGP 2.282 billion. As for the standalone business, the company posted an annual plunge in net profit after tax to EGP 10.048 million at the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 153.141 million. Mohamed Omar El Damaty, Vice Chairman of Domty, commented: "The company is working on a comprehensive restructuring plan to implement the Board of Directors' resolution to demerge the company into two listed companies.' 'Within this framework, We are working to reduce the number of receivable days in the wholesale sector, which will take some time and considerable effort to achieve the goal of reducing the company finance expenses and thus improving the profitability, also we are working on more than doubling our marketing expenses throughout the year to facilitate the restructuring process and increase product turnover,' El Damaty added.
