Jack Black's Band Emerges From Donald Trump Controversy With New Project
's band, Tenacious D, is back with a new project after laying low for more than a year in the wake of a controversy that derailed their 2024 world tour.
On Oct. 3, the band, which also includes singer-guitarist , returns with Tenacious D: The Complete Masterworks Vol. 3. The set, which showcases the band's June 16, 2023, concert at London's O2 Arena on their Spicy Meatball Tour, will be released on Blu-ray and DVD.

A year and a month after that concert, on July 16, 2024, Black announced that he was pulling the plug on Tenacious D's world tour after Gass made a controversial comment about Donald Trump from the stage.
During the group's show in Sydney, Australia on July 13, the band was celebrating Gass' 64th birthday. When he was presented with a cake and asked to make a wish, he replied, 'Don't miss Trump next time,' referring to the assassination attempt on the then-former president, during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania.
Following the statement, Black took to Instagram to announce he was 'blindsided' by the comment.
"I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form," he wrote, adding that he didn't feel it was "appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour", and that the rest of the group's "creative plans are on hold.'
With the release of Tenacious D: The Complete Masterworks Vol. 3 that hold appears to be over, at least in terms of releasing new projects.
However, the press release announcing the title also notes that 'the band is not available for interviews at this time,' suggesting that Black and Gass aren't quite ready to fully promote the band again. The concert film includes such Tenacious D classics as "Tribute," "The Metal," "Master Exploder," "Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown)," "Kickapoo,' and more.
The package also includes music videos for their cover from Kung Fu Panda 4, "...Baby One More Time" and Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game," the D's Oneyplays Studios animated hit "Video Games," their Fiber d'Lish commercial, as well as their charity covers series including "Tenacious D's The Who Medley," The Beatles' "You Never Give Me Your Money / The End," and "Time Warp," from the cult classic The Rocky Horror Show.

Call for 'young producers' to help shape Museum of North Craven Life
THE Museum of North Craven Life at The Folly, Settle, has put out a call to young people willing to help it shape the museum for years to come. The museum says it wants the voices and opinions of young people from 16 to 25-years old to be at the heart of what it does and has launched a new 'young producers' initiative. Isobel O'Donovan, community curator, said: "We are launching a new creative heritage project for young people who live in North Craven to help us shape the museum for years to come. "We are looking for people interested in history, art, storytelling or design, and if the answer to any of these questions is yes, then The Folly's young producers might be for you. ""Our young producers will meet once a month at The Folly, take part in creative activities, and experience the behind the scenes workings of the museum. By the end of the project, they will put together a creative output – this could be a zine, pop exhibit or event – the direction of the project will be chosen by the young people and supported by museum staff." Isobel said there are lots of reasons for young people to take part in the project. "Participants will have the opportunity to meet other young people with similar interests, try out new skills, and gain experience that could support future education or work opportunities," she said. To find out more or to apply to be a young producer, visit The Folly website at:
