Heartbreaking tributes paid to 'beautiful soul' after teenager stabbed to death
Ibrahima Seck, 14, was rushed to hospital but tragically died from his injuries on Sunday evening.
Heartbreaking tributes have been paid to a "beautiful soul" who was stabbed to death outside a pub.
Ibrahima Seck, 14, was rushed to hospital but tragically died from his injuries on Sunday evening. He was stabbed outside the Fairway Inn in New Moston, north Manchester, before running to nearby Nevin Road, where neighbours rushed to his aid.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, police closed off the scene and remained in attendance outside the pub on Monday. A property on nearby Warbeck Road has also been sealed off.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Ibrahima's family by Dawn Frimpong. She wrote: "I had the honour of working with this young man, in a school, where he was very well loved.
"He was a beautiful soul who had the most infectious smile and you couldn't help but laugh with him. He will be missed by so many. I am attempting to raise as much money as possible for Ibrahima's family so they are not worrying about financial burden at this very difficult time.
"We must stand together as communities in times like this and offer support no matter how big or small. Any contribution would be very greatly received."
Miss Whittaker told the M.E.N. she taught Ibrahima at Manchester Community Primary Academy for two years. "Ibrahima was the most beautiful boy," she said. "He touched my soul and he had such a beautiful heart. I'm devastated beyond words."
A neighbour of Ibrahima's, who did not want to be named, told our sister title that he was the youngest of three siblings. She said: 'He was so young, it's so very, very sad. I cannot understand what this country is coming to.'
The woman said the family had lived on her street, a short distance from the Fairway Inn, for a 'couple of years' and she spoke to Ibrahima's parents as neighbours. 'I heard about it last night' she added. 'I heard the helicopter last night then I read about it on the news. Then a police car pulled up and they went inside. That's when we knew.
"Another neighbour who knows the family very well said it was the youngest one. I felt sick. So very, very sick. I just couldn't believe that had happened to a family like that. It's so sad, bless them. There's not much we can, just offer our condolences and be there if they need anything.'
Tributes have also been left at the scene where Ibrahima was attacked, alongside flowers and messages of support for his family. One note said: "From one mother to another, I know there are no words that can ever ease your pain.
"But I pray God gives you the strength to face each new day. Please know that as a community we hold your family in our hearts."
Another said: "Things need to change! Knives down, gloves up! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this horrific time. There are good people in this city! We pray for your son."

Mum says she 'felt violated' after discovering note on son's pram at Butlin's
A disabled mum went to the Skegness holiday park with her two children last month and was left furious when she discovered her four-year-old's pram had been stolen A disabled mother was left feeling "utterly violated" after her son's pram was nicked during a family jaunt to Butlin's. The incident occurred at the Skegness holiday park last month while Sophie, 38, was with her two children. Sophie alleges that the pushchair was pinched from the trolley area outside the swimming pool. Struggling to return to their flat with her 10 year old daughter and four year old son, Sophie reached out to Butlin's for assistance but claims she was advised to rent one for the remainder of their stay at a cost of £21. To add insult to injury, three days later, her pram was discovered with a post-it note attached stating: "Loaned for 5 min, sorry + thank you." The single mother shared her ordeal with Manchester Evening News, saying: "It was more the inconvenience of it. I'm disabled, so is my daughter. We came out of swimming carrying a heavy bag of wet clothes and had to phone Butlin's for someone to come and help me because I only made it half way back to the apartment. "My daughter, was overly distressed by the situation. We had to hire another one. They wouldn't even look at the CCTV." Sophie, from Derbyshire, suggested to the company that a ticket system should be implemented for collecting prams to prevent future thefts, but claims they "aren't interested", reported the Mirror. "Three days after it went it was thrown over the swimming pool fence into the external pram park with a note saying it had been borrowed for five minutes," she recounted. "A friend of mine found it and when we went to pick it up. We heard on the walkie talkies that another pram had just gone, it happens all the time." The mum expressed her discomfort upon retrieving the stroller, saying she "wasn't even that happy to have it back" after it had been in someone else's possession. "I felt utterly violated," she explained. "My little boy's pram had been in someone else's apartment and they had been using it. I felt so scummy using it." Sophie, who visited the holiday park in mid-May, took to a Butlin's Skegness Resort Facebook community page to expose the theft, which led to an uproar among parents who were appalled by the audacity of taking another's pram. One parent decried the lack of security, stating, "Scum, it's about time Butlin's had CCTV or even security in buggy areas," while another was baffled by the act: "How on earth can someone actually think that's ok to do that,". Another parent scrutinised the thief's motives, commenting, "The question is whoever has borrowed it, why have they gone away without a pram if they need one. Very entitled behaviour and I'd be fuming." The Mirror has sought Butlins' response to the incident.

Riot breaks out after funeral for teen killed in crash as bricks hurled at cops
A dispersal order was put in place after around 50 to 60 people gathered from around 1.30pm in Salford, as people were using cars and wheelie bins to block off a road Serious disorder broke out the day a funeral was held for a teenager who died in a horror crash, with riot police called into deal with the trouble. A dispersal order was put in place after around 50 to 60 people gathered from around 1.30pm in Salford, as people were using cars and wheelie bins to block off a road on Wednesday night. Greater Manchester Police said bricks were thrown at officers as Vehicles were damaged and burnt out. Footage from the night showed a white Fiat 500 being driven erratically with the boot open, as it narrowly missed a crowd of people. A black car was also seen speeding along the street, with people appearing to be clinging to the roof and hanging out of the windows. The car's front bumper was missing and another vehicle was seen on fire. Police have since said a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft; and public order. A man in his 30s was detained on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly; and possession of Class A drugs. Two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. A 16-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker. Officers said: "We are aware of speculation online that this incident is linked to immigration, this is categorically incorrect." The force has not commented further. Salford's deputy mayor said the trouble was 'provoked' by the funeral of one of the teenagers who died following a crash in the area on May 22. Kailem Robinson, 16 and Kaine Darby, 17 both died following a collision between a car and the motorbike they were on. The driver of the car, a 24-year-old woman, stopped to assist officers at the scene. Kailem's funeral took place on Wednesday. Councillor John Merry posted on X, to say: "I fully support the actions of GMP in Lower Broughton today. The death of two young people is a tragedy, but it would also be tragic if vulnerable residents were left frightened and afraid to go outside." He told the Manchester Evening News the "funeral of one of the individuals... provoked the disorder". He said he believed most people went out to honour the teenagers, but that there were "a few hotheads determined to cause trouble". He said GMP handled the incident 'correctly' as there was a 'serious threat to property'. In a statement issued via GMP on June 4, Kaine's mum Danielle Hughes said: "I don't condone the behaviour that has been going on at the scene since the accident - the spray-painting, vandalism and motorbikes riding round. "This is not what Kaine would have wanted. We want peace and to remember Kaine calmly, surrounded by his loved ones. This has shocked the whole family. It was a tragic accident that should never have happened that I don't want to tarnish Kaine's legacy." Kailem's mum Jill said in a statement issued on Saturday (June 7) the community had 'rallied round' her, taking her flowers and shopping and raising money for the family. "I would like to thank the community of Lower Broughton for their support, from both those who knew Kailem and those who didn't," she added. "Everyone has rallied round to help with donations, flowers and a Go Fund Me page to help with the funeral. Kailem's friends have been amazing, bringing shopping round and just being here trying to comfort me and give me some normality. "Kailem will be missed by everyone, the reaction from the community has shown how loved he was by everyone who knew him."
