Lennon Miller to Celtic transfer bid poised for relaunch as James Penrice scouted amid left back hunt

The Premiership champions made an attempt in January and are expected to try and tempt Motherwell into selling once more
Celtic are expected to go back in for Lennon Miller.
The Motherwell starlet made his Scotland debut in last Friday night's defeat to Iceland before being handed his start by Steve Clarke in the 4-0 thumping of Liechtenstein.

Record Sport understands Celtic remain keen on Miller after an offer was reportedly rejected during the January transfer window as the Steelmen stuck to their guns over the midfielder.

The Lanarkshire club also booted out a club record offer from Serie A side Udinese, which fell well short of their £4million valuation.
Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the teen talent and may well launch a fresh attempt to take him to Parkhead this summer.
However, competition to land the teen talent is only going to get more intense.
English Premier League new boys Sunderland are thought to be weighing up a £10million offer, which would smash Well' transfer sales record.
Miller won't be short of options and Celtic's success or failure may depend on whether he is willing to remain in Scotland or keen to try his hand overseas.
The success enjoyed by the likes of Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Josh Doig and former Fir Park teammate Max Johnson hasn't gone unnoticed, with young Scottish players seen as shrewd investment for ambitious clubs on the continent.

Meanwhile, Celtic have scouted Hearts' James Penrice, but won't necessarily pursue a deal for the left back.
Penrice was a standout during a poor season for the Jambos last term after joining on a free transfer from Livingston.

It's a position Celtic require more depth in, with Greg Taylor on the verge of joining PAOK in Greece on a two-year deal when his Parkhead contract expires.
That leaves Kieran Tierney as the only senior option in that area after he made an emotional homecoming from Arsenal on a five-year deal.

Arne Engels gets honest over Celtic as 3 things stand out for record transfer as chapter one of journey comes to a close

Brendan Rodgers paid out the big bucks to land the Belgian as he brings reflects on his first campaign in the hoops Arne Engels has offered a honest assessment of his first year at Celtic. Brendan Rodgers shelled out last summer to land the Belgian for a club record fee from FC Augsburg on a four-year deal. ‌ He played a key role in the Hoops' double success as he lifted the Premiership and League Cup after hopes of a first season clean sweep were ended at Hampden by Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final and season finale. ‌ The campaign has also offered exposure in the Champions League and on the international scene after turning out for Belgium. It's not all been plain sailing for the midfielder, who has picked out three key things from his first season in Scotland. Sharing a video montage of some of his debut campaign highlights to his Instagram account, he wrote: "My first season at Celtic has been a journey filled with highs, lessons, and memories for life. "Whether we were at Paradise or away from home, I felt your energy every time we stepped on the pitch. "Thank you fans, see you all soon." Engels and his Parkhead team-mates will be aiming to complete the Treble next season and make another splash at Europe's top table. ‌ Rangers have entered a new era under the 49ers Enterprises following their takeover and Russell Martin is now in charge. The Hoops face a busy pre-season schedule including trips to Cork, Lisbon, Faro and Lake Como. ‌ They will also play games on home soil as they prepare for a return to domestic and Champions League action. Rodgers and his troops face a crucial qualifier in order to rubberstamp their ticket to the big time this time around. Dele Alli heartbreak as footballer splits from model after making comeback

Former Everton midfielder Dele Alli has split up from his partner Cindy Kimberly after three years together, with the model having confirmed their break-up this week Footballer Dele Alli has split up from his partner Cindy Kimberly after three years together. The former Premier League player had been supported by the model earlier this year but it's now been revealed that they have separated. Dele, now 29, who currently plays for Serie A team Como 1907, and Cindy, now 26, went public with their romance in 2022. It's now been announced by the model that she's no longer in a relationship with the former Everton midfielder. ‌ ‌ There had been speculation that they had split up after it was noticed that she wasn't following Dele on Instagram. Cindy - who has modelled for magazines like Playboy - is also said to have removed photos of him from her page. Dele however continues to follow her on the platform. Cindy also still features in some posts on his account, including on celebrating his signing with his current football team in January, following his two year absence from the pitch. The outlet Glam Set & Match (GSM) speculated in a post yesterday that their relationship looked to be "headed for the rocks" after three years. Cindy reacted in the comments section, with her confirming that they have broken up. She announced that herself and Dele haven't been together "for a little while". Addressing rumours about their romance, she wrote in the comments section of the post this morning: "We've been broken up for a little while already." Although she appears to have removed photos of Dele from her own page, Cindy has kept up a post of herself seemingly sat in the stands at one of his games in Como, Italy, in March. She had been spotted there with him at the time. She's since been seen supporting Dele's team too. More recently, Cindy was seen in the crowd at a match between Como and Torino at Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium on April 13, just two months before the news of their break-up. ‌ Dele - who played for Tottenham Hotspur and England earlier in his career - signed with Como in January. It was announced at the time that he was on an 18-month contract, but with an option to extend that for an additional 12 months. Head Coach Cesc Fàbregas shared his thoughts on the signing: "The club believes in Dele's potential and is committed to helping him rediscover his best form. His experience and leadership qualities will undoubtedly benefit the squad." ‌ The signing came after two year absence from the pitch for Dele, which came following an injury in 2023. It was suggested in February that there was no rush to get the footballer back playing competitive games in the season. Dele, who's spoken about challenges he's faced in his life off the pitch, made his comeback in March but, as reported at the time, he was sent off after 10 minutes when he received a red card. He later posted on Instagram: "2 years! Not necessarily how I planned it, but we keep moving." It's been reported that he hasn't made another appearance for the club since then.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is being lined up by Liverpool. | SNS Group The English Premier League champions have reportedly finalised a contract for the 50-year-old Dutchman and he will be one of Slot's chief lieutenants as they bid to defend their English title. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Scotland left-back Andy Robertson has held talks about his future but insists he welcomes the competition which looks set to arrive this summer in the shape of Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez. The 31-year-old national team captain is entering the final year of his contract and last season was something of a mixed bag in terms of his form. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Having seen long-time team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold run down his deal in order to join Real Madrid, Robertson may face reduced playing time should the club's chase for the £45million-rated Cherries full-back be successful, as expected. But the Scot remains positive about his future and the challenge ahead. Robertson on his contract 'We have discussed it, of course we have. We've had good discussions with me and the club but what the future holds I am not sure,' Robertson told Sky Sports News about his contract. 'I need a rest after a long season and then I look forward to pre-season, that's all my focus is, I can't look too far ahead. I never have done that so I am not going to start doing that now. 'I know the position I am in and I have only got a year left and a lot is getting spoken about and getting said but my full focus is on being a dad for the next couple of weeks and enjoying that time with the kids. Then I will try to come back in the best possible shape for pre-season and then we'll see what the future holds when these decisions come.' On the potential arrival of Kerkez, a 21-year-old Hungary international, he added: 'The club have identified certain positions where they want to get new blood in, it looks like players we're linked to are all younger players and they are all exciting players as well.
