The Camiral resort, which was previously called PGA Catalunya, has hosted European Tour events and the Spanish Open.
It has been owned by Irish businessman Denis O'Brien since 2008. Irish media have reported that O'Brien has invested tens of millions of euros in upgrades to the courses and the hotel, as well as accommodation on the property.

This will be the second time for Spain to host the Cup after Valderrama in 1997, and just the fourth time it will be played in continental Europe after Le Golf National outside Paris in 2018 and Marco Simone outside Rome in 2023.
The Ryder Cup is closely tied to Spain because of European team stalwarts Seve Ballesteros, José María Olazábal, and Sergio García.
This year's Ryder Cup will be held at Bethpage Black in New York in September. The next one staged in Europe is in 2027 at Adare Manor in Ireland.

Jordan Spieth jokes that he's tried to talk Keegan Bradley out of playing in Ryder Cup

Can Jordan Spieth talk U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley out of playing in the Ryder Cup? That's what it has come to for the three-time major winner, who still holds aspirations of making the U.S. 12-man team that will face a European side in late September at Bethpage Black. Bradley, 39, would be the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963 if he were to assume both roles. Bradley won the Travelers Championship in June and enters the week at No. 10 in the U.S. Ryder Cup point standings and ranked No. 10 in the world. Spieth, on the other hand, is mired in 27th place in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings. 'I keep trying to convince Keegan that, you know, it'd be a lot for him to have to play, too, so he probably should give up that pick, even if he is a top 10 player, top seven player in the world,' said Spieth. 'It just seems like way too much to have to do! So, trying to open up all the opportunities I can, but I can also go take care of business myself.' More: New PGA Tour winner Cameron Young moves up in the latest U.S. team Ryder Cup standings Spieth was joking, but he's clearly on the outside looking in with limited opportunities to make a final impression for a captain's pick. He made his comments on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio Wednesday with Carl Paulson and Dennis Paulson. 'Making the Ryder Cup team was my loftiest goal to start the season. I was coming in with almost no carryover points from '24, which hurts, and it was unusual for me for a Ryder Cup year. And then obviously skipping the first month of the season and starting late, I just thought, you know, boy, this would be the end goal,' Spieth said. 'And the idea that I have a chance for it is very cool.' Spieth knows he likely is going to have to make a FedEx Cup playoff run all the way to Atlanta and the Tour Championship. A victory in Memphis this week or Baltimore next week would go a long way, but he also hasn't won in more than three years. His experience and leadership would be valuable for the U.S., but he still needs to show Bradley that his game is up to snuff and ranks among the 12 best to deserve a pick for the U.S. side. 'It'd be incredible. I've played in five of 'em. They're the coolest events that you can play in, in a sport. And I'd love to play in another five if I can or more,' he said. 'This one will be special, being at Bethpage. I played the PGA really well there. And obviously, your Long Island crowd and tri-state area, coming and representing your country there, would be the mecca of what you can do for a home game.'

Collin Morikawa Makes Yet Another Caddie Change Ahead of FedEx Cup Playoffs

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Just months ago, Collin Morikawa made headlines after parting ways with longtime caddie J.J. Jakovac, the man on the bag for all six of Morikawa's PGA Tour wins, including two majors who helped him get to a peak world ranking of No. 2. Since then, the 28-year-old has worked with Joe Greiner, KK Limbhasut and Billy Foster. Foster was his most recent partner, as seen during The Open. Urbanek, best known for his five-year run with Tony Finau, split with him ahead of The Open last month. Morikawa enters the playoffs ranked 19th in the FedExCup standings with 1,427 points, hoping to stabilize a season that's seen flashes of brilliance but little consistency. Apart from the caddie moves, Morikawa is also making changes in his sponsorship deal list. Collin Morikawa signs new sponsorship deal In addition to caddie change, Morikawa is also making big moves in his sponsorship list. The major winner signed on as the latest ambassador for 'Stanley 1913,' the PGA Tour's official insulated drinkware partner. The deal follows Nelly Korda's signing earlier this season, making Morikawa another high-profile golfer to join the brand's growing roster. "I think what drew me to 'Stanley 1913' is their wide range of products," Morikawa stated as reported by Golf Magic. "I travel so much and being on the road means needing options to adapt to my needs, and 'Stanley 1913' has that range." As part of the partnership, Morikawa will represent the brand at tournaments and in promotional campaigns. With the 2025 Ryder Cup looming at Bethpage Black next month, Morikawa's playoff performance could be pivotal. He currently sits eighth in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings with 9,743 points, just two spots out of the automatic qualification zone. Rank Player Points 1 Scottie Scheffler 32,420 2 Xander Schauffele 13,383 3 J.J. Notre Dame hopefully won't be missing a projected offensive starters for long

Notre Dame WR Jaden Greathouse didn't participate in practice today. Based on what I'm hearing, I'm not overly concerned. So far early in Notre Dame football's fall camp, their haven't been any injuries of none, but there was news that we need to watch for with wide receiver Jaden Greathouse. The one of the projected starters, was reported to have missed Wednesday's practice by Ryan Roberts, but the good news is that he also said he 'wasn't overly concerned.' Obviously this is a good news, bad news situation, as the Irish has talent behind him on the depth chart, but not much experience. Greathouse is expected by many to have a breakout season, after dominating Notre Dame's last two College Football Playoff games with 13 receptions for 233-yards and 3 touchdowns. It was a solid 2024 for him, as he totaled 42 catches for 592 yards and 4 total scores. Hopefully this is just a minor setback leading up to a major year for Greathouse.
