AJ Dybantsa and BYU to face UConn at TD Garden this fall
It'll be a matchup between teams projected to be among the preseason top 10, as well as between two of the top New England players in college basketball.

Dybantsa will face a UConn team led by Southborough native Alex Karaban, a two-time national champion who averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game last season.

'The game against UConn in Boston is going to be a great test for our team and allow Cougar fans all over the East Coast to see us play in one of the premier venues in the NBA,' BYU coach Kevin Young said in a statement.
The game will be the Huskies' first in Boston since the 2024 East Regional, when UConn blew past San Diego State in the Sweet 16 and Illinois in the Elite Eight en route to becoming repeat national champion.
It will be UConn's second appearance in the Hall of Fame Series after the Huskies beat Gonzaga at Madison Square Garden in December.

'The Hall of Fame Series has been great to us in the past, so it was a no-brainer to jump at an opportunity to play an elite opponent in 'Storrs North,' ' UConn coach Dan Hurley said in a statement. 'We know it will be a quality event with a great crowd and a stiff test to see where we are as a team.'
One week after the game at TD Garden, the Naismith Hall of Fame also will put on a showcase featuring Boston University, Harvard, Providence, and Penn State at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Additionally, UConn men's and women's basketball teams will take part in an exhibition doubleheader against Boston College at Mohegan Sun Arena on Oct. 13. It'll be the teams' first meeting on the women's side since 2005, and first on the men's side since 2013.

I come to the arena and he's already done working out, I was like what?' James is known for his preparation and for keeping his body right. Such work is a big reason he has the greatest longevity of any player in NBA history and why he is continuing to play at a high level at age 40. He averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds a game this season, which earned him a spot on the All-NBA Second Team. Meanwhile, Doncic put up 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game in 28 regular-season games with Los Angeles. He has apparently already slimmed down this offseason, and according to at least one report, he has changed his mindset and regimen as far as taking care of his body.

2025 NBA Draft: Would the Nets be the perfect fit for Dylan Harper?
The Brooklyn Nets have some important decisions to make before the 2025 NBA Draft comes around in June and they will have to do something with their five draft picks. Brooklyn will have four picks in the first round, including the eighth overall pick, but it's fair to wonder if a certain Rutgers player would be perfect for the Nets if the team were to select him. Brian Lewis of the New York Post recently said on X to user "Aces" that Rutgers guard Dylan Harper would be the first player taken in most drafts outside of the upcoming 2025 edition. Lewis went on to say that Harper would be "perfect" for the Nets, according to the scouts that he has talked to thus far. In the upcoming Draft, Harper seems to be the consensus second player taken after Duke forward Cooper Flagg and it makes sense given how much hype precedes Flagg. Advertisement In his latest mock draft for Bleacher Report, Jonathan Wasserman projected Harper to be taken by the San Antonio Spurs with the second overall pick and one would be hard-pressed to find a mock draft that doesn't have Harper off the board by the time the third overall pick comes around. As this relates to the Nets, it's important to note that there are reports suggesting that Brooklyn could attempt to move up in the Draft. However, Lewis himself reiterated that multiple people believe that it's unlikely that the Nets would be able to get the No. 2 pick. Harper, 19, is coming off a freshman season at Rutgers in which he put himself firmly in the top-3 of the Draft after averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 48.4% from the field and 33.3% from three-point land. Harper put forth that kind of production while playing alongside forward Ace Bailey, who is widely projected to be taken in the top-4 of June's Draft. While it's considered unlikely that the Nets would be able to get in position to take Harper in the Draft, if Brooklyn were able to get Harper somehow, it's easy to see why he would be perfect for a Nets team that is still looking for its point guard of the future. "The positional size, strength and length are obvious selling points and advantage creators for a ball-handler that can change directions and gears as well as Harper," Wasserman wrote. What the Dallas Mavericks may not have realized back then was that at least one team (the Bulls) would have offered anything and everything to acquire No. 77. The Chicago Bulls have been looking for a superstar for years now, and Luka Doncic would have been the perfect fit. As a young and exciting player with a burning desire to win, his arrival would mark a new era for the Bulls and a return to contention after years of mediocrity. Sadly, it seems like they missed their chance, and they might never get the opportunity again. Luka Doncic is a once-in-a-generation type of athlete, and he's the kind of player that teams wait years to build their team around. In just seven years in the NBA, Doncic is a 5x All-Star, 5x All-NBA player, and 1x NBA scoring champion. For his career, the Slovenian guard is averaging 28.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game on 43.8% shooting. He was drafted third overall by the Hawks but was traded to the Mavericks on the same day. He spent six and a half seasons in Dallas, leading them to prosperity as a regular playoff contender. But even after a trip to the Finals in 2024, the Mavs turned on Doncic, having lost faith in his leadership and commitment to the game. For GM Nico Harrison, however, he already had an ideal return in mind: 32-year-old Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a future first-round pick. After landing this summer's No. 1 overall pick, they can also expect to have Cooper Flagg in uniform next season, but he wasn't part of the initial trade. The return is shockingly light for a 26-year-old superstar in his prime, especially considering what the Bulls had and were willing to offer. They were willing to give up all their best assets to form a potential package including Coby White, Matas Buzelis, Patrick Williams, Lonzo Ball, four first-round picks, and three pick swaps. The deal would have brought depth to the roster and restored the Mavericks' draft capital. Meanwhile, the Bulls could have started fresh with a new leading face and an identity for the future. It's a win-win for both sides. Instead, Nico Harrison didn't even give other teams a chance to step in, and he might have hurt his own team's return in the process. Regardless, the Bulls must now continue their search for a franchise player elsewhere, and it could be a while before they finally land their guy.
