Blue Ivy's life from stage debut to Guinness World Record as she joins Beyoncé on Cowboy Carter tour

Daily Mirror30-04-2025

Blue Ivy Carter, the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, has come a long way since her first stage debut and has flourished in the spotlight, now joining her world-famous mum for her Cowboy Carter Tour.
Beyoncé, 42, kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour this week on April 28 at the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium. The tour debut was packed with chart-topping hits, such as American Requiem and Levii's Jeans, as well as older tracks like Crazy in Love and Formation.
The superstar pulled out all the stops when it came to her outfits with classic cowboy hats, chaps, diamond denim, and a glitzy bodysuit with fringing to tie in with the cowboy theme. But one moment that really stole the show was her daughter, Blue Ivy's, performance centre stage to America Has a Problem.
Blue Ivy, who is almost as tall as her mum, oozed confidence as she graced the stage for the energetic dance while her mum belted out the hit behind her - a far cry from her first stage debut. As Blue Ivy joins her mum on tour, we've taken a look back at her rise to global fame as she follows in her mother's superstar footsteps...
Beyoncé brings Blue Ivy and excited Rumi on stage for first night of tour
Blue Ivy is the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and was born on January 7, 2012, making her now 13 years old. She has two twin siblings, Rumi and Sir, who her famous parents welcomed on June 13, 2017.
Even as a baby, Blue Ivy was notable one of the most famous children in the world, but she's since found her own name in the industry.
Blue Ivy swiftly started her dancing career and appeared in her mum's music videos for Spirit and Formation. In 2022, she performed at the Academy Awards as Beyoncé sang Be Alive from the film King Richard.
This led to global success as she appeared on stage during Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour, making her first notable appearance in Paris two years ago as she danced to My Power and My Parade. She continued to grace the stage during the tour, performing alongside her superstar mum.
Her mum shared a rare post on Instagram in tribute to her daughter's performance, writing: "My beautiful first born. I'm so proud and thankful to be your mama. You bring us so much joy, my sweet angel."
In July 2023, her grandmother Tina Knowles sweetly told People: "She's having the time of her life, and I couldn't be more proud of her because she really worked hard. She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she's just getting better and better. So, I'm the proud grandma, always."
Her confidence on stage has continued to grow, with sharpened choreography, and her appearances have often gone viral. Commenting on her improved footwork, one fan wrote on TikTok: "Watching her confidence grow throughout the tour has made me so proud! She's improved so much."
Another noted Blue Ivy's stardom and humouredly remarked: "It's so beautiful that Blue allowed Beyoncé to dance at her concert." She also danced during Beyoncé's NFL 2024 Christmas Day Halftime Show in Texas, which sent fans into a frenzy with her impressive moves.
Adding to her success, Blue Ivy holds two Guinness World Records. One was when she was just two days old, having had her vocals recorded by her dad, Jay-Z, which then appeared on his song Glory. This meant she became the youngest person to have a song appear on a Billboard chart as her dad released the track in tribute to her.
The second is for her vocals on the opening and closing of Beyoncé's track Brown Skin Girl, where she has a writing credit for the song. This meant she became the youngest individually credited winner at the Grammy Awards as her mum won best music video.
She also made her movie debut in 2024 in Mufasa: The Lion King as the voice of Princess Kiara, while her mum played the role of Queen Nala.
As a budding fashion enthusiast, Blue Ivy has modelled for her mum's Adidas x IVY PARK collection and appeared in an advert with Beyoncé for the brand in 2021, where they wore matching checked outfits.
The talented teen is a two-time BET Award winner. She first won in 2020 for her contribution to the song Brown Skin Girl and won the YoungStars Award in 2024.
Congratulating her granddaughter, Tina Knowles wrote a lengthy Instagram post and shared a closer insight into the life of Blue Ivy. It read: "Congratulations my Blue Blue! I marvel at your talent, your beauty, your intelligence, but I am most proud of your kindness and down to earth attitude.
"Never attention seeking, just cool and chill as a cucumber all the time. Yesterday you played the piano for just me like someone who has been taking lessons for years. But you are self taught. One day I hope you will let me post it and brag like other grandmas get to do. But for now you made me swear to not share.
"You play sports, play the piano, dance like a pro in front of 80k people. Paint like a fine artist, draw so well, sing so beautifully. (Voice like an angel). Voiced an award-winning, best-selling children's book. You are also in a soon to come blockbuster movie Lion King. One of the youngest recipients of a Grammy Award. And you turned only 12 years old a few months ago.
"And in spite of all the challenged adults who struggle with the green-eyed monster disease, in true Carter/Knowles/ Beyonce tradition it just motivates you to keep it moving. Congratulations BIC you deserve everything you work hard to get. Thank you BET #betawards for this honour."

Annie Knight breaks down crying as she tearfully recalls horrific sexual assault ordeal: 'I started screaming'

Annie Knight broke down in tears on Tuesday as she recounted the horrifying moment she was allegedly assaulted by a male sex worker. The OnlyFans creator, 27, shared a video to TikTok explaining she was filming a collaboration video when her scene partner began to 'push her down'. Knight said the accused ignored the 'boundaries' she put in place before filming began, and would not allow her to get up when she tried to leave the situation. 'I literally can't believe what happened. Sorry. Give me a second, I'm just going to calm down,' Knight cried as she began her video. She went on to say she was filming a sex scene with someone who was a 'verified creator' but new and unknown in the industry. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'We were filming the scene. I very clearly laid down my boundaries about what I'm okay with. I told him I didn't want restraining of any kind,' she said. 'We get down to filming and straight away he is doing things I told him I don't want to do. 'I've been in a similar position before where I was like enough is enough and I pushed him off me and left. 'This time was different because I asked him multiple times to stop and he didn't.' Knight broke down in tears again as she said: 'So I was trying to get him off me and the more I was pushing him, the more he kept pushing me down... I couldn't get up.' Thankfully, Knight said she had a security guard waiting in another room as she had hired a two-bedroom apartment to film the content in. The male content creator was apparently unaware Knight had security, so the alleged assault was stopped when Knight 'screamed' for help. 'Luckily I had a security guard next door because I am so scared of this exact situation happening,' she said. 'When I started screaming, thankfully, I had someone who came in and got this guy off me.' Knight went on to caution other sex workers to 'please be safe' and 'make sure you always have someone close by' for protection. 'I was so naive in thinking that because I've been doing this for so long now that this kind of thing doesn't happen,' Knight continued. 'It is so ridiculous that I thought that, but I am so lucky I still had a security guard close by just in case.' Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Knight for further comment. Knight shot to fame online in recent years for sharing videos detailing her experiences as a sex worker. She has also received a slew of media attention for her various sex challenges, the most recent of which left her hospitalised when she slept with 583 men in a day. Professionally dubbed as 'Australia's Most Sexually Active Woman', Knight has said she earns up to $3.5 million a year on OnlyFans for her X-rated content. She also recently announced her engagement to Henry Brayshaw, son of sports commentator James Brayshaw.

Flight attendant explains why you should never swap seats on a flight

TikTok video creator and flight attendant Leanna Coy explained why she doesn't like to switch seats whens she is flying as a passenger, arguing that doing so is risky business A flight attendant has warned that seat switchers on planes are risking it all. Leanna Coy recently published a TikTok video titled ' Why you shouldn't switch seats on the plane' that explains exactly that. The commonly touted reason flight attendants typically tell off-seat switchers is that the plane's boarding plan is designed to put an even number of passengers on each side of the plane. ‌ Too many on one side, and the aircraft can be a little trickier for the pilot to fly. ‌ However, Leanna Coy has a whole different reason. The American flight attendant was recently asked to switch seats with a passenger on a United Airlines flight. "Normally, I am absolutely 100 per cent against changing seats. Your lack of planning should not constitute me having to move," Leanna explained. However, on this occasion, the flight attendant couldn't think of a good reason not to swap, so she obliged. She immediately began to have doubts about her decision. "I'm already on edge about it," she said. According to Leanna, if the person you've switched with does anything to "act up" on the plane, the behaviour would be associated with her seat number. That means any breach of the aircraft's rules, such as vaping in the bathroom or throwing snacks at fellow passengers, could wrongly be pinned on her. Leanna argued that such a thought was not as far-fetched as one might think. "I see what goes down on the plane. If this lady decides to go smoke in the bathroom or whatever, that could come back to me," the world-weary flight attendant explained. ‌ "I realised I'm flying United. If you know anything about United's service, if you want to buy drinks or anything, you have to put your card onto the app ahead of time, which I've done before." This means that the passenger who swapped with Leanna may be able to access her card to pay for items. The off-duty cabin crew member asked one of her colleagues if that was indeed the case, and they confirmed that it was. "'Now, do I think this lady was trying to scam me out of money on my card? No. But that's just something to be aware of. I fully support you if you don't want to switch seats. You are entitled to the seat that you chose," Leanna said. It is not a rare occurrence for chaos to break out on a flight or for passengers to indulge in a bit of bad behaviour. At the end of last year, a passenger caused chaos after allegedly attempting to open the emergency door mid-flight. The incident took place on a Copa Airlines flight on Tuesday night. Footage of the incident shows a man being restrained in a headlock while a crew member tried to attach plastic handcuffs to his wrists. Two passengers – Marcelo Ribeiro and Everaldo Torres – reportedly helped to restrain the man, according to local reports. Marcelo attempted to reason with the passenger when he noticed him trying to open the door, which ignited a brawl.

Beyonce's 'middle-aged fan' problem: Brand expert gives damning verdict on why Cowboy Carter is failing to pack out stadiums

She is unquestionably one of the most influential performers the music industry has ever seen, so it came as a surprise when Beyonce failed to sell out any of the six nights of her shows at London's Tottenham stadium - after sluggish sales for some parts of the US leg of her tour. When tickets went on sale in February, fans raised their eyebrows at the price of the highest priced seats, which came in at an eye-watering £950. However, prices were slashed in the lead-up to the show, with tickets originally priced at £620 in the fan presale reportedly now dropping to £141.60. In the hours before her first London show, there were still 539 free seats left in the stadium which holds around 62,000 people for concerts, with unsold tickets reportedly being offered to low-income families via food banks. Personal branding expert Kelly Lundberg told MailOnline that the high price will not be attractive to her mostly middle-aged fan base who have other financial commitments, while a failure to connect with younger audiences means parents won't be pestered by their children to attend. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It comes in sharp contrast to ticket sales for her Renaissance world tour in 2023 where UK shows sold out within minutes of being released. It seems there are a variety of reasons for the slower sales of Beyonce's Cowboy Carter tour from pricing issues, varying demand to see her in person and thornier issues such as her husband Jay-Z's friendship with the disgraced P Diddy. Kelly, a global speaker and host of the Kelly Lundberg podcast, believes the expensive cost of tickets will have put off many fans, particularly those who have followed Beyonce since their teen years and are now juggling kids and mortgages. 'Research shows tickets come with a hefty fee, more expensive than her last tour just two years ago, as well as Taylor Swifts's gigs and Oasis's concert,' she told MailOnline. 'When you have longevity in a career, like Beyonce does, your fans grow with you. But that means many die-hard Beyoncé fans are juggling mortgages, children and careers. Attending a high-priced show may not be a priority as it once was?' She also cited potential decreased demand to see Beyonce in concert after her Renaissance tour just two years ago. 'Given that Beyonce's Renaissance tour wasn't quite two years ago, it doesn't create that elite, once-in-a-lifetime vibe that should come with a premium-priced event,' she said. 'It's likely that the fans who forked out hundreds of pounds to see Beyonce in 2023, don't want to splash out on so much money to see her again so soon. It seems there are a variety of reasons for the slower sales of Beyonce's Cowboy Carter tour from pricing issues 'Then, there's the tour itself. Cowboy Carter was brilliant culturally, but did it lose the deeper connection that her fans are looking for? 'She's missing a trick and potentially substituting perfection for connection by not sharing more storytelling about motherhood, business, creatively, vulnerability, and behind-the-scenes content.' Lundberg also pointed out the contrast between Beyonce's 'almost-unattainable' levels of excellence' and Taylor Swift's more 'accessible' Eras tour. 'Given the legacy of rivalry, there will be comparisons drawn to Taylor Swifts' Eras tour, which grossed $2bn in ticket sales, but it's more telling to compare Beyonce's 2025 tour, to her 2023 Renaissance world tour, which sold out in minutes. 'Beyonce and Taylor Swift have built their fanbase differently. As a now cultural institution, Beyonce has built her brand on almost unattainable levels of excellence - which can make her feel inaccessible. 'That high-level image can come at a price - alienating those everyday fans. While people still admire her, they might not feel as emotionally connected as they once did. 'While Taylor Swift's concerts very much invite fans to be a part of it; they feel invited in, rather than invited to witness.' Another issue is that while Taylor has a lot of young fans who attended her Eras tour with their parents, Beyonce hasn't made the same connection with younger generations. 'Taylor Swifts' fan base is also growing with her, but they started younger and aren't at the same life stage as Beyonce's fans,' Kelly explained. 'Taylor has expertly nurtured her fan base from adolescence into adulthood, constantly adapting her narrative voice to reflect their life stages. She also attracts younger fans through visibility on platforms like TikTok, Instagram reels and fan-generated content. 'Beyoncé's brand, by contrast, has matured alongside her original fanbase. Many of her core supporters are now in their 30s to 50s - with real-world financial pressures, limited time and children of their own. 'Gen Z and Gen Alpha aren't as deeply connected to her journey, because she doesn't meet them where they currently are in life, be that digitally or from a storytelling perspective.' Beyonce has sought to appeal to younger fans by including her daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi in her shows. But she has previously fought back criticism that her daughter Blue Ivy, 13, was dressing too 'grown up' at events. Some called the strapless gold gown she wore to the Lion King premiere last year 'inappropriate' for a 12-year-old. 'My gorgeous baby girl,' Beyonce wrote on Instagram the evening of the debut. 'This is your night. You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara. Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining.' But Beyonce was undeterred by the criticism as Blue showed up to the Grammys in February in a strapless blue dress. The teen has since joined her mother on stage in London along with her younger sister Rumi, seven. Beyonce's image may have been harmed by her and husband Jay-Z's past links to P Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs. In April, a lawsuit that claimed Beyoncé, Jay Z and LeBron James were at a party where Diddy allegedly drugged and sexually maimed a victim was met with furious denials. In the complaint, Joseph Manzaro claims he was 'drugged, transported against his will, and sexually maimed as a victim of a coercive and organised criminal enterprise'. Manzaro alleged he was 'secretly transferred' to Diddy's home through a 'concealed tunnel' allegedly connected to Gloria and Emilio Estefan's Miami house. He said that it was a birthday party for Diddy's then-17-year-old son, ENews reported. The lawsuit claims: 'Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter were seated in the room and upon seeing [Manzaro], Beyoncé Knowles-Carter asked, 'What's this? What's this all about? Why is this half-naked white man with a [penis] mask standing here in front of me?'' When Manzaro first sued, Diddy and the Estefans denied his allegations, as did LeBron James, who Manzaro claimed was also at the party. Jay-Z's attorney insisted he was not in Florida at the time, and that 'easily findable public activities' could prove as much, while Beyoncé's agent was contacted for comment. Manzaro has since submitted an amended version of his suit against Diddy - and reportedly, the only change is that all references to Jay-Z and Beyoncé have disappeared, according to TMZ.
