2 South LA middle school students transported to hospital from classroom science lab
Two South Los Angeles middle school students were transported to the hospital from their classroom science laboratory on Wednesday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, HazMat units were called to investigate the matter at George Washington Carver Middle School. A total of eight patients were examined in response to an unknown incident in a classroom science lab.
All patients are in fair condition, and no hazardous chemicals were found at the scene. The cause of the illnesses remains unclear, according to the LAFD.

Bay County Historical Society members continued a 75-year tradition, Saturday, with their Annual Pioneer Picnic at the Oakland Terrace Clubhouse. 'The historical society saw a need for preserving history. So they started having these picnics for the old timers like me to share stories with. And I'm by far not one of the pioneers of our area, but to hear some of these stories of our real pioneers that came when there was nothing here and built what we have today from the resources that they had at that time,' said Bay County Historical Society Member Tem Fontaine. The Bay County Historical Society works to bring history back to life by preserving items in its museum. They worked to preserve the Panama City paper mill whistle and the original clock that is the centerpiece of downtown Panama City. But to continue their mission, they need donations. Contracts held by SpaceX with the U.S. government, worth many billions of dollars, cover a wide variety of services, from launching satellites for the Pentagon and intelligence agencies to flying cargo and people to and from the International Space Station. Officials at NASA were apparently particularly concerned by Musk's threats, which he's since walked back, to discontinue SpaceX's use of its Dragon craft, which would potentially have left the agency without means of transporting astronauts to the orbiting research station. 'When you realize that he's willing to shut everything down just on an impulse, that kind of behavior and the dependence on him is dangerous,' as one member of the agency told the Post. 'I can tell you there is deep concern within NASA.'

Crews respond to commercial structure fire in Paso Robles
Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire at 2508 Spring St. on Saturday morning. The first unit arrived at 5:07 a.m. and found a deck and tree on fire that were threatening the structure, according to a news release. Two fire engines, one truck and one battalion chief from Paso Robles responded, as well as two fire engines and one battalion chief from Cal Fire and a truck from Atascadero Fire. The Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance also provided support, the release said. Fire crews put out the fire before it extended to the building, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, according to the news release.
