Dravidian parties do more optics, less work: Seeman on DMK, AIADMK
Speaking to reporters outside the Trichy court after attending a hearing in a 2018 case involving a clash between NTK and MDMK cadre at the Trichy airport, Seeman alleged that the ruling DMK was no different from the BJP in its policies and approach to governance.
"Dravidian parties only do optics. They have no understanding of service politics or action politics. While farmers and teachers are out on the streets protesting, the DMK govt claims it is reaching every household," Seeman said. He further accused the DMK of abusing power to conduct election campaigns and failing to offer power-sharing to its allies in the state govt. "They claim autonomy at the Centre, but in the state, it's just family rule," he said, mocking the party's internal structure.
Seeman also took a jibe at AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), saying that the latter is aligning himself with the BJP ideologically as the saffron party is expected to be in power at the Centre beyond 2026. "He's not doing this out of fear, but out of excessive courage," Seeman said.
He also questioned the DMK's recent stance on not including political questions in TNPSC exams. "Isn't the question about the 'dawn journey' political?" he asked.

Distancing himself from Periyar's ideology, Seeman said, "I have no attachment to Periyar. There is evidence that he spoke disparagingly about the Thirukkural."
When asked why he has toned down rhetoric on Eelam and LTTE, Seeman asserted, "I am the only one still talking about it. When I speak, they say I'm repeating myself."
Earlier, judge Gopinath announced that the verdict in the airport clash case will be pronounced on July 19.

DMK govt. failed to enact law against caste killings, alleges Tamilisai
BJP leader and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday said the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu had failed to enact a law against caste-hatred induced murders, despite being in power for the fifth time. Speaking to mediapersons in Chennai, Dr. Tamilisai alleged, 'Even after ruling the State for so many years, it is a shame that the DMK government has not been able to uphold social justice and enact a law against caste-hatred-induced murders.' She said the people of Tamil Nadu were struggling every day to make a living and ensure their safety. Referring to the launch of the 'Ungaludan Stalin' camps, she said though health camps were being conducted as a part of the initiative, the condition of government hospitals remained poor. Dr. Tamilisai also claimed the Union government had been supporting Tamil Nadu's development, but Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had made it a norm to blame the Centre. 'The Chief Minister should understand that a confrontational attitude with the Centre is not good. Had Kalaignar [M. Karunanidhi] been alive, he would have maintained a cordial relationship with the Centre despite ideological differences.' On the exit of the former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam-led camp from the National Democratic Alliance, she said, 'It is my opinion that he could have handled his political moves more patiently.'

Palaniswami accuses Stalin of having ‘knelt' before the BJP to protect family
AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Sunday alleged DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had 'knelt' before the BJP to protect the interests of his family and assets. In a statement, Mr. Palaniswami said Mr Stalin, who is heading a 'failure model' government had accused the AIADMK was a slave to the BJP, which has been leading an 'efficient government' in the Centre. 'Mr. Stalin, have you forgotten not just the people of Tamil Nadu but your own partymen, saw you kneeling and warming up to the BJP to protect your family and the assets you looted?' he posed. Alleging the DMK government was making hollow promises, he said the AIADMK had to come down to the streets and meet the people there. 'Let us see if you would realise the state of affairs of your government at least by then.' The former CM said he has travelled for about 3,200 km under his 'Makkalai Kaappom, Thamizhagathai Meetpom' campaign. Those he met flagged the issues of rising taxes, drinking water scarcity, issues facing the MSME sector, lack of programmes for the welfare of farmers and students communities, among others. Mr. Palaniswami also recalled having met a Christian priest in Thoothukudi, who shared his apprehensions over the circulation of banned drugs among students. He also called upon his partymen to collect list of public grievances and submit them in the party head office.
