Hamilton Accies to abandon New Douglas Park for Broadwood
The club will learn the outcome of an appeal against a 15-point deduction imposed by the SPFL when an SFA Appelate Tribunal convenes at 5pm today.
Also embroiled in a lengthy dispute with the owners of their home since 2001 negotiations over the purchase of New Douglas Park ended without agreement. Describing their time as tenants of the stadium as 'thoroughly unsatisfactory' the Lanarkshire club have also rejected the draft terms on offer to extend their lease.
While co-tenants Clyde intend to remain at New Douglas Park for 'the foreseeable future', John Rankin's side will move 15 miles to play at Broadwood – Clyde's former home.
Announcing that talks are underway with South Lanarkshire Council over a potential site for a new stadium in Hamilton, Accies confirmed plans to play in Cumbernauld in a statement from chairman Jock Brown.
'The board has considered carefully the proposal published by the stadium owner and communicated to the media in respect of the club continuing to occupy New Douglas Park.
'The proposal cannot be accepted on the terms stated. In the first instance the balance in respect of the funds accruing between the parties over the past twenty-two months is substantially in favour of the club, so any postponement of settlement of the appropriate balance is inappropriate. The club is not indebted to the owner.

'Second, the terms of the only new draft lease provided so far are also unacceptable.
'Third, the club's experience of being tenants over the past twenty-two months has been thoroughly unsatisfactory.
'It is correct that the club has been trying to purchase the company which owns the stadium (the seller's preferred way of completing the transaction) over a period in excess of a year.
'The necessary funds are available. However, the owner has failed for a period of several months to produce the due diligence information routinely sought in a transaction of this kind and has made it clear that necessary warranties will not be forthcoming.
'In such circumstances any purchase would be irresponsible and has thus been rendered unachievable.
'At the eleventh hour a new proposal was made by the seller involving the purchase of the stadium as a property asset, but the board has made the unanimous decision to reject this proposal on the same basis at the original proposal, namely that acceptance of the terms involved would not be in the best interests of the club.'
Currently the home of Cumbernauld Colts of the Scottish Lowland League and the Rangers women's team, Broadwood was the home stadium of Clyde between 1994 and 2022 and Open Goal Broomhill in 2022-23.
'Arrangements have now been made to relocate the club from the start of next season to Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld,' confirmed Brown, 'with the long-term aim of building a new stadium in Hamilton. Discussions with South Lanarkshire Council have started in order to identify a suitable location.
'The board is now carefully considering several innovative options around fan engagement and season ticket support relating to the relocation.'

Borussia Dortmund want to sign Sunderland midfield starlet Jobe Bellingham before the Club World Cup and the two clubs remain in negotiations for the player, who has agreed a five-year deal with BVB Borussia Dortmund have been told they must up their bid by £8.5million to strike a deal with Sunderland for Jobe Bellingham. The 19-year-old midfield starlet has already agreed to join the German giants on a five-year contract but they are yet to shake hands on a transfer with the Black Cats. It's understood Bellingham's release clause is currently set at £33.7m (€40m) but Dortmund are not currently willing to reach that figure and have instead communicated they would be willing to propose a £25.2m (€30m) package. The offer would be worth £21m upfront with a further £4.2m in achievable add-ons but Sunderland want the buy-out clause met in full before they sanction the move. German sources have indicated BVB's first official bid was worth around £21m all in and was swiftly rejected. Dortmund were of the belief that Bellingham could leave Sunderland for £25.2m (€30m) due to an alleged gentleman's agreement between the player and his current club but they now face a race against the clock to get a move over the line before the Club World Cup. Championship play-off winner Bellingham was named in Lee Carsley's England U21 squad for the European Championships on Friday. However, if Dortmund thrash out a deal before Tuesday's transfer deadline, they would hold all the cards and could take Bellingham to the Club World Cup should they wish as per FIFA rules, clubs are not obliged to release players for the U21 Euros. Liam Delap will be travelling to the United States with Chelsea after he sealed a £30m move from Ipswich Town earlier this week. Carsley claimed on Friday that Bellingham would currently be travelling to Slovakia with the Three Lions, explaining: 'The FIFA window closes on the 10th of June, so we just have to make sure that we're flexible, similar to what we've done with all of the players. We're here to support them, make sure we help them as much as we can. Jobe is an important part of our squad and will be travelling with us.' The England U21 boss will be allowed to make changes to his squad right up until his side's tournament opener against Czechia in Dunajska Streda next Thursday. Dortmund have been pushing hard to reach an agreement with Bellingham since the end of the season despite rival interest from fellow German side Eintracht Frankfurt. In early May, BVB officials Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl plus head coach Niko Kovac flew to the North East for discussions with the player. Departing CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke also flew to England to meet the Bellingham family before later jetting to Ibiza, where Bellingham was on holiday, for a final round of talks that look to have swung the balance.

Airdrie have point to prove after last season's relegation scare, says Frizzell
The Diamonds had a nightmare campaign last term Airdrie captain Adam Frizzell knows the spotlight will be on his team this season, and admits they have a point to prove after their play-off scrap. But the former Killie midfielder reckons with a bit of recruitment the Diamonds will be riding high in next season's Championship. Frizzell says it's an interesting league, with St Johnstone and Ross County coming down from the Premiership and Arbroath promoted from League One. But he says Airdrie finished the season strongly enough that they can look ahead with confidence. Frizzell said: 'St Johnstone and Ross County will be two teams that will be fancying themselves to win it, and it's very exciting. 'There are a few teams that it will be interesting to see how they pan out this year, and I think everyone will be looking at us as one of those teams as well, coming back off the back of a poor season, by our standards. 'But I think we finished the season strong, getting through the play-offs was massive for us, and the boys should take a good bit of confidence, going into the pre-season and tackling the Championship next season.' When asked if Airdrie have a point to prove, Frizzell said: 'Definitely. A lot of people had us written off. Whatever happened with Hamilton happened, and we can't do anything about that, but we took advantage of that and managed to stay in the division. 'We still did incredible to claw ourselves back into a position where Hamilton's deduction had any bearing on us – people forget we had five points at the turn of the year. 'We finished the season well, and you just need to look to take that into next season, it's all you can do.' Frizzell says recruitment is key for Airdrie this summer. He added: 'I think we need a wee bit, but not much. 'I think a couple of good additions, rather than loads of different ones. 'There was a big turnover last season and there will probably be similar this year, but not on as big a scale. 'With a couple of additions we'll be good, and definitely pushing in the right side of the table. 'I think this season will be very good for us, the boys will have learned a lot. 'We managed to come through it unscathed in the end, which is brilliant, and it's a very young team with a lot of learning to do. 'But with a couple of good additions, and the core we have already, I think it's an exciting year ahead for us, really.'

Thomas Frank is among the frontrunners to become the next Tottenham manager after they sacked Ange Postecoglou - and the Brentford boss has made his feelings clear about moving on Brentford boss Thomas Frank has previously claimed he has "one of the best jobs in football" with Tottenham considering an approach to make the Dane their new manager. The north London side sacked Ange Postecoglou on Friday despite the Australian ending their 17-year wait for a trophy. Europa League success though wasn't enough to see him keep his job and Daniel Levy showed him the door after a poor Premier League season. Attention has turned to his successor - which could well be Frank with Tottenham bosses keen. He has two years left on his contract however as well as a big buy-out clause written into the deal which he signed back in December 2022. Since Frank was appointed at the Bees he's led them to promotion from the Championship and been able to establish them as a top flight side. All that despite him losing his top talent as Brentford continue to cash in on their leading lights for major profits. Despite that the Brentford boss believes he's blessed to be in charge at the Gtech Community Stadium, hailing the environment he'd worked in. He previously told Sky Sports: "I may be in one of the best football jobs in the world. I mean that because the work environment is so good, the owner is so good, it's such a good environment. Everything is top. Do you want to try something different in the future? That's the thing. Maybe, but it's not like I need to try something bigger or better. Because what is better? I'm definitely very ambitious and I think I can achieve everything I want to with Brentford." Frank has enjoyed huge continuity and loyalty from the Bees. Even during periods where results have gone against them the club's bosses has kept faith with their man in the dugout. Tottenham and Levy have proved to be a much more ruthless environment. The club are eyeing another new manager with Postecoglou, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte shown the door in recent years. Both Nuno and Conte have gone on to enjoy success since. Jose Mourinho was famously sacked before a cup final and Tottenham have shown that even trophies will not supersede league form by sacking the former Celtic boss - a move which has proved hugely divisive.
