Skoda Enyaq Coupe Review 2025
- Page continues below
That car arrived back in 2020, with this Coupe joining it a couple of years later. Come 2025 and both have been treated to a mid-life facelift, complete with a new suit (as debuted on the mid-sized Elroq), improved aerodynamics, more range and faster charging. All of which are big green flags in EV world. Remind me of my options...
Where the regular-shaped Enyaq comes in four flavours, the Coupe leapfrogs the smaller battery so your entry point is the 85 Edition. That's followed by the 85x Sportline, and finally the vRS.
The 85 gets a 77kWh battery and a single motor, rear-wheel drive setup, the 85x adds another motor for all-wheel drive, and the vRS gets a slightly bigger 79kWh battery plus dual motors/all-wheel drive.
Both the 85 and 85x get 282bhp and smash through 0–62mph in 6.7 seconds, while the vRS ups that to 335bhp and rips through the same sprint in an impressive 5.4s. Top speed's 112mph.

The more pertinent figure here though is the range, with the Enyaq Coupe's new face leading to a drag coefficient of just 0.229, compared to the 0.240Cd before. That means claimed range is up to 365 miles in the 85, 334 miles in the 85x, and 348 miles for the vRS.
It'd also be remiss of us here not to mention charging speeds: the 85 can accept 135kW, whereas the 85x peaks at 175kW. Either way you're looking at just under half an hour to charge from 10–80 per cent. And on public chargers capable of those speeds, a hefty bill too… What's it like to drive?
We've only driven the facelifted rear-drive entry model so far. It all feels pretty conventional and doesn't spring many surprises, with its nicely weighted steering, smooth acceleration, and generally pleasing road manners. Our only complaint really is the slightly firm ride.
We have, however, driven the all-wheel drive Enyaq SUV, and the only real benefit of that extra motor is slightly better torque and traction. Otherwise it's no quicker or more powerful, and it'll cost you some 30 miles in range plus a little extra dosh. Yeah, we're not sure it's worth it either.
Then there's the vRS, which in pre-facelift form we found wholly unsatisfying. It severely lacked engagement and other than straight line acceleration, it offered precious little reward... maybe the facelift will fix that. Has practicality been massively affected?
Skoda says that bootspace is only a squeak smaller here, with 15 litres less of it compared to the regular SUV (570 litres versus 585). Likewise headroom in the back seats is only marginally reduced by the sloping roofline thanks to a panoramic glass roof as standard. As a clue to the lengths that Skoda has gone to be able to say that, the glass is thinner and they had to junk the blind that normally comes with the pano roof, so it's been specially treated to reflect heat.
Otherwise it's standard Enyaq, with Skoda having gone about the deranged VW Group craze for ridding cabins of buttons in a much more restrained way. It's not perfect, but it's far better than the ID.5. Read more over on the Interior tab. How much does it cost?
Prices start from £46,200 for the entry-level RWD Enyaq Coupe, rising to £50,650 for the cheapest car with 4WD and £53,560 for the vRS. Head over to the Buying tab for the full lowdown.

What's the verdict?
' It's a plain white t-shirt with a designer logo on it... stick with the supermarket own brand SUV '
We like the Skoda Enyaq, and post-facelift this is an even better electric family car than it was before. Sharper suit, increased range, and all achieved while retaining that appealing price tag. Tick, tick and tick.
But the Coupe still doesn't really have anything to recommend it over the SUV. That's not to say it's a bad car, but as a coupeified crossover it sacrifices a little headroom and bootspace in favour of... style. And then demands a premium for the privilege. One that's worth, what, a couple of miles extra range? Hardly.
Yep, it's a plain white t-shirt with a designer logo on it. Do yourself a favour and stick with the supermarket own brand SUV...

India's Tata Motors to invest up to $4 billion over 5 years for EVs, new cars
June 9 (Reuters) - India's Tata Motors ( opens new tab plans to invest up to 350 billion rupees ($4.1 billion) over the next five years, aiming to cement its position as the country's top electric vehicle maker amid rising competition and a push to adopt clean cars. The maker of the Nexon and Punch sport utility vehicles will nearly double its portfolio from eight models to 15, launch more EVs and compressed natural gas cars as well as enhance the vehicles' technology features, according to its investor day presentation released on Monday. India, the world's third-largest car market, is planning stricter emission norms starting 2027 and wants EVs to form 30% of all car sales by 2030. Tata Motors did not share its investment plan for the current year to March 2026, but said last month the domestic businesses, including commercial vehicles, would have a capital expenditure of about 80 billion rupees. EV maker VinFast's Q1 loss widens on higher spending as deliveries rise
June 9 (Reuters) - Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast (VFS.O), opens new tab reported on Monday its sixth consecutive quarterly net loss as it continues to ramp up spending to boost sales volumes. VinFast reported a net loss of $712.4 million for the first quarter, less than the $1.3 billion loss in the previous quarter but 20% more than a year earlier. Analysts' average forecast was for a $616.3 million loss, according to LSEG data. Revenue jumped 150% to $656.5 million in January-March, compared with analysts' average estimate of $520 million. Deliveries leapt nearly 300% to 36,330 vehicles in the quarter, mainly driven by sales in Vietnam, its biggest market. VinFast shares were up 10.53% in pre-market trade. Backed by Vietnam's largest conglomerate, Vingroup ( opens new tab, VinFast continues to face challenges due to weak consumer demand, stiff competition, and a 25% tariff the U.S. has imposed on imported vehicles. VinFast previously identified the U.S. as a key growth market. The company reported a gross margin of minus 35.2% in the quarter, compared with minus 58.7% a year earlier. The firm is intensifying promotional efforts domestically, shifting to a dealership model from the costlier option of its own showrooms, and redirecting its focus to Asia, with its new assembly plant in India set to begin operations in July. Research and development expenses fell 22.3% year on year in the quarter, while the cost of sales more than doubled over the same period, it said. VinFast, which has reported a loss every quarter since it went public in August 2023, has received around $2 billion in financial support from its founder and CEO Pham Nhat Vuong and Vingroup, as of May. VinFast's affordable, small VF 3 and VF 5 models were its best-selling vehicles, accounting for 68% of its domestic deliveries, chair Thuy Le said on an earnings call. The company is also looking to expand in the bus market. "We are exploring opportunities in Asia and Europe with plans to offer electric buses in 6, 8, 10, and 12 meter sizes," Le said. "We set up in Indonesia and Europe already and very soon in the Middle East and the U.S.," Le said, noting that VinFast already delivered buses in big volumes in Vietnam. The company said it would introduce its next-generation platform and an electrical architecture with the Limo Green model in the third quarter. This will underpin existing EV models next year. "While its VF3 subcompact SUV is driving volumes, the company is still losing money on every car it sells," research firm Third Bridge noted in a pre-earnings report. "The bill of materials is estimated to be significantly higher than those of Tesla and BYD, partly because VinFast lacks scale and still pays a premium to suppliers who are wary of its short track record," it said.

‘He's going to call it a day' – Ex-Red Bull mechanic claims Max Verstappen will quit F1 THIS YEAR
MAX VERSTAPPEN has been sensationally tipped to QUIT Red Bull at the end of the season by a former team mechanic. The Dutchman has won four drivers' titles in a row and is hunting for a fifth this year - which would see him match a feat only achieved by Michael Schumacher in Formula One history. 2 2 However, Verstappen has fallen 49 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri amid huge performance struggles with the Red Bull machinery this season. Verstappen has continued winning races despite the issues and even the power struggle which hit the team last year. He has been linked with an exit from the Racing Bulls, with a team transfer to the likes of Mercedes or Aston Martin. But ex-Red Bull mechanic Calum Nicholas believes Verstappen - who became a dad for the first time last month - could QUIT F1 entirely, if he wins a fifth World Drivers Championship. Speaking on Lucas Stewart's YouTube channel as he played a round of golf, Nicholas was asked how many titles Verstappen would win in his career. He gave his answer before revealing what he thought lay ahead for the 27-year-old. Nicolas said: "Five. I think Max is going to win the Drivers' this year, and then I think he's going to call it a day." Despite his answer, the mechanic insisted he didn't "know anything" extra about Verstappen's career plans. Nicholas added: "To not back Max is just like lunacy, I think. The guy is just really really good. "Not in terms of just his technical skill and his talent, but I've watched Max grow into this guy that can do everything. "He does everything well now." Verstappen's last race win this season came at the Imola Grand Prix on May 18. He finished fourth at the Monaco Grand Prix a week later before inexplicably ramming his car into George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix. That earned him a 10-second penalty - demoting him from P5 to P10 - and three penalty points on his licence to put him on the brink of a race ban. Verstappen has 11 out of 12 points needed to earn a race ban across the 12-month rolling system for the penalty points. He will need to be on his best behaviour at the Canadian and Austrian Grand Prix to avoid a ban in the following race before he sees two penalty points expire on June 30.
