The six-piece had performed a medley of Feels Like the First Time, I Want to Know What Love Is and Juke Box Hero during last night's live finale.
And, at the end or their set, Kelly told fans guitarist Luis Maldonado will be taking over from him.
The singer said: 'Being the voice of Foreigner has been one of the greatest honours of my life.
'But it's time to pass the mic. Luis has the voice, the energy, and the soul to carry these songs into the future. I couldn't be prouder to hand this off to him.'
Luis, already a familiar face in the band's lineup, shared his excitement about the transition.
He gushed: 'This music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I'm ready to honour Foreigner's legacy and bring my heart to every performance.'
The group is currently in the midst of their Historic Farewell Tour, which will wrap up with multiple singers sharing frontman duties.
In a move that has kept fans guessing, the band revealed earlier this year that Kelly would not be joining them for their Canadian dates in October, followed by the news that he would also skip shows in Mexico and South America this April.
Adding to the uncertainty, Foreigner announced in March that Canadian stage actor and Broadway performer Geordie Brown would be fronting those Canadian shows.
It remains unclear whether Louis or Geordie will now take the lead for those dates.

Foreigner founder Mick Jones, who no longer performs live but remains involved with the band, reflected on the decision in a statement.
He said: 'In 1976, my goal was to assemble the finest group of musicians I could find. Results have shown that it worked!
"About thirty years later, Jason Bonham encouraged me to do it all over again and create a brand-new Foreigner, and the magic was still there.
"I was especially fortunate in the choice of lead singer.
"Kelly Hansen is one of the best front men in our business and over the last twenty years he has breathed new life into our songs.
"His boundless energy and flawless talent has helped us climb the mountain and set up the opportunity for Foreigner vocalist and guitarist, Luis Maldonado, to bring us home.
"I wish Kelly great happiness in his next endeavors after our summer tour, and I look forward to welcoming Luis to his new position.
"Luis was my choice as a guitarist and he has already shown us what he can do on lead vocals by fronting the band in South America to incredible reviews.
"He will soon lead the charge that will carry us forward to new heights."
Luis' debut as lead vocalist is already underway.
This month, Foreigner released two reworked versions of their classic hits - 1981's Urgent and I Want To Know What Love Is from 1984 - both sung in Spanish and featuring Luis on vocals.

A-HA star Morten Harket reveals life-changing health diagnosis saying it could end his pop career
Morten admitted he isn't sure if he will be able to finish some of the music he is currently working on health woes A-HA star Morten Harket reveals life-changing health diagnosis saying it could end his pop career EIGHTIES A-ha pin-up Morten Harket has Parkinson's disease. The Take On Me crooner, 65, said: "I've got no problem accepting the diagnosis.' Acknowledging the diagnosis wasn't a problem for me; it's my need for peace and quiet to work that has been stopping me. 'I'm trying the best I can to prevent my entire system from going into decline. 'It's a difficult balancing act between taking the medication and managing its side effects. "There's so much to weigh up when you're emulating the masterful way the body handles every complex movement, or social matters and invitations, or day-to-day life in general.' Advertisement Parkinson's disease is caused by the loss of dopamine-producing cells in the brain and affects communication between neurons in the brain and muscles. Although the disease is not fatal, victims' condition gradually worsens over time. It is the most widespread – and the fastest-spreading – neurological condition in the world. Last year Norway-based Morten underwent neurosurgical procedures in which electrodes were implanted deep inside both sides of his brain. The procedure meant many of his physical symptoms practically vanished. Advertisement He is still able to drive his boat - but is worried about being able to sing for much longer. And hits not yet released may never be heard by fans. The star, whose hits included Scoundrel Days, Summer Moved On and Stay On These Roads, said: 'The problems with my voice are one of many grounds for uncertainty about my creative future.' Morten Harket stars in A-ha's music video for hit song 'Take On Me' in 1984 He added: 'I don't feel like singing, and for me that's a sign. "I'm broadminded in terms of what I think works; I don't expect to be able to achieve full technical control. Advertisement "The question is whether I can express myself with my voice. As things stand now, that's out of the question. But I don't know whether I'll be able to manage it at some point in the future.' Looking forward he bravely said: 'I was always meant to do different things, but I've ended up with a fairly permanent position as singer in a band. "When I say that my identity isn't about being a singer, that's my direct response. It comes straight from the heart. "People associate me with it, naturally enough, and I realize that. I see singing as my responsibility, and at certain moments I think it's absolutely fantastic that I get to do it. Advertisement "But I've got other passions too, I have other things that are just as big a part of me, that are just as necessary and true.' The star told fans: 'Don't worry about me. Find out who you want to be – a process that can be new each and every day. Everything you need to know about Parkinson's Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition, meaning that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time. It affects around 153,000 people in the UK. People with Parkinson's don't have enough of the chemical dopamine because some of the nerve cells that make it have stopped working. This can cause a range of more than 40 symptoms, but the three main ones are: Tremor (shaking) Slow movement Rigidity (muscle stiffness) Other common signs include: Mild memory and thinking problems Trouble sleeping Issues with balance Pain Anxiety and depression Shuffling walk with very small steps Difficulty making facial expressions Loss of sense of smell Problems peeing Constipation The four main ways of managing Parkinson's include medication, staying active, exploring occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech and language therapy, and monitoring symptoms. Source: Parkinson's UK and NHS "Be good servants of nature, the very basis of our existence, and care for the environment while it is still possible to do so. Spend your energy and effort addressing real problems, and know that I am being taken care of. 'For a few years now I've been working on songs that I've got great belief in, and I feel the lyrics, especially, have something of a different aspect of me in them. Advertisement "I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish them for release. Time will tell if they make it. "I really like the idea of just going for it, as a Parkinson's patient and an artist, with something completely outside the box. "It's all up to me, I just have to get this out of the way first.' 5 The star has opened up on living with the illness Credit: Getty Advertisement 5 Morten with his A-ha bandmates Credit: Getty - Contributor

Clint Eastwood blasts Hollywood in bombshell interview… that he NEVER gave: Star slams Austrian paper over ‘phoney' Q&A
The paper has now cut all ties with the article's writer after the actor's stern response to the interview GOOD, BAD & BS Clint Eastwood blasts Hollywood in bombshell interview… that he NEVER gave: Star slams Austrian paper over 'phoney' Q&A Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CLINT Eastwood has hit out at an Austrian newspaper for publishing a bombshell interview he claims he never even gave. The 95-year-old acting icon was directly quoted bashing Hollywood in the article - despite him now labelling the Q&A as "phoney". Kurier, a Vienna-based paper with around 100,000 readers, published a major Q&A spread with the Dirty Harry star on Friday. The main takeaway from the supposed interview was just how much Eastwood despised how reliant Hollywood has become on sequels and franchises. One of Eastwood's responses to a journalist's question said: 'I long for the good old days when screenwriters wrote movies like Casablanca in small bungalows on the studio lot. read more in Clint Eastwood SAD LOSS What we know about Clint Eastwood's late partner Christina Sandera "When everyone had a new idea. 'We live in an era of remakes and franchises. I've shot sequels three times, but I haven't been interested in that for a long while. "My philosophy is: do something new or stay at home.' The answer stirred up days of debates from film buffs who argued both sides of the fence. But Eastwood soon chimed in on the argument himself as he blasted the original interview as 'entirely phony". He claims he has never given those comments to Kurier and hasn't been interviewed by anyone in the past few weeks. Clint Eastwood attends the 20th Annual AFI awards The paper's editor has since conceded the quotes were in fact not from a formal interview with Eastwood who turned 95 last month. Instead, they were repackaged by a writer who had spoken to the actor at more than a dozen media events in the past. Elisabeth Sereda, a US-based Austrian journalist, had 'convincingly explained" to editor Martin Gebhart that her and Eastwood have met on 18 occasions at round table media events. This meant the quotes were a compilation of statements made by the actor over the years. But Gebhart did admit that the way the article was presented as a tell-it-all exclusive chat went against his quality standards. He then said he will no longer work with the Sereda as of a result. The story has also since been withdrawn from the paper's website entirely. Gebhart said: 'Even though no quotes were fabricated, the interviews are documented, and the accusation of fabrication can be refuted, we will no longer work with the author in the future." Michael Schumacher fake AI interview torment MICHAEL Schumacher's family were paid £170,000 in compensation after a magazine published a fake AI-generated interview with the F1 racing legend. German publication Die Aktuelle claimed last April to have secured a 'world exclusive' with the severely injured Ferrari great – who has not been seen in public since his 2013 skiing accident. In a two-page spread, promoted with a picture of Schumacher, it claimed the seven-time F1 champ had said 'My life has totally changed'. It promised it was not a story based on "half-sentences from friends" but it's "the incredible interview" with the F1 star with "redeeming answers to the most burning questions that the whole world has been asking for so long." The rest of the article was written in Q&A form, with an AI chatbot designed to mimic celebrities making up the answers Michael would supposedly give. The bot even spoke about the racing hero's physical condition, family and future recovery prospects. Die Aktuelle only admitted the quotes, which used graphic details to describe his injuries, were written by a chatbot in a note on the inside pages. The shameless interview just goes to show how "poisoned" bots can be weaponised, an expert warned. Sereda is known for publishing celebrity based articles for Kurier and other Austrian media. She is also a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and listed as a voting member on the website of the Golden Globes. After Eastwood's admission, Jude Law's team also made similar comments on Sereda's work. She had published an interview claiming to be from the English actor earlier this year. Sources close to Law said no interview has ever taken place and that the only time those direct quotes would have been made would have been at a press conference at the Toronto international film festival last year. Eastwood is still working as a director with his most recent movie being Juror #2 which was released in November last year. He has long been an influential figure in Hollywood for bis longevity and ability. Since breaking through with the 1964 film of A Fistful of Dollars, Eastwood has continued as a leading man for decades. He has even received the ultimate honour as a director through two Academy Award's for best director with 1992's Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby in 2005. 6 Eastwood in 2019 Credit: Getty 6 The acting legend in Dirty Harry Credit: Getty
