
DCC to support international growth of Dubai-based firms
The mission comes as part of the chamber's 'New Horizons' initiative, a strategic programme designed to support the international growth of Dubai-based companies by facilitating access to high-potential global markets.
The chamber held a virtual pre-mission briefing recently attended by members of the trade mission's delegation, which includes representatives from a diverse range of Dubai-based companies.
The businesses participating in the mission represent sectors including agriculture; construction and building materials; electronics; energy and petrochemicals; engineering; FMCG trading; food and beverages; information technology; manufacturing; maritime and shipping services; metallurgical industries; real estate; retail; and supply chain and logistics.
During the briefing session, participants were provided with an overview of the mission agenda, which includes a series of bilateral business meetings and networking sessions with companies in Angola and Mozambique.
The 'New Horizons' initiative comes as part of the chamber's efforts to promote the global expansion of Dubai-based companies and enable them to capitalise on rewarding opportunities in new international markets. The initiative aligns with the goals of the 'Dubai Global' initiative, which seeks to help local companies explore new business prospects across 30 priority markets worldwide.
As part of the New Horizons programme, the chamber successfully organised trade missions last year to Indonesia, Vietnam, Senegal, Morocco, Serbia, Türkiye, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The missions facilitated more than 2,227 B2B meetings between participating companies and their counterparts in these markets.
Meanwhile Dubai Chambers has successfully concluded the 13th edition of its Diplomatic Circle event, which brought together more than more than 100 ambassadors, consul generals, and commercial attachés stationed in the UAE. Held annually, the meeting serves as a platform to advance cross-border economic cooperation.
During the event, Dubai Chambers shed light on the promising outlook for the national economy across diverse sectors and explored ways to strengthen international trade and investment ties through constructive dialogue. The discussions reaffirmed Dubai's strong commitment to collaboration and strategic partnerships that support mutual development goals.
During his welcome address, Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the vital role of close collaboration with the diplomatic community in fostering meaningful partnerships. His Excellency emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation between Dubai and nations across the globe in key areas including trade, economic development, and investments.
Al Mansoori stated: 'The Diplomatic Circle reflects our shared commitment to strengthening global economic ties and advancing trade and investment cooperation towards broader horizons. Our relationships with diplomatic missions are built on collaborative efforts that align with Dubai's vision and serve mutual interests, contributing to increased trade flows, investment attraction, and the strengthening of bilateral economic partnerships. This ultimately reinforces Dubai's global investment appeal.'
He added: 'Dubai's economy continues to advance, driven by its integrated strengths, chief among which are our strategic global partnerships built on close collaboration. These connect business communities and pave the way for shared growth opportunities, serving as fundamental pillars for expanding trade and investment.
Dubai Chambers remains committed to strengthening these partnerships through its network of 34 international representative offices, which play a crucial role in opening new trade corridors, facilitating market access, and enabling business expansion.'
The meeting featured a panel discussion on the National Investment Strategy 2031, during which Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Hawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment, presented the key pillars of the strategy. His Excellency outlined the goal of positioning the UAE as a leading global investment destination by 2031 and a strategic hub for foreign direct investment, with a focus on priority sectors.
Meanwhile, Dubai Chambers showcased in a presentation the chambers' key achievements during 2024. The presentation also highlighted some of the key programmes and initiatives across the three chambers operating under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, which include Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Dubai International Chamber.

The award was granted following a national open call to UAE-based organisations demonstrating measurable, creative, and community-driven sustainability efforts aligned with the goals of the Year of Sustainability seal, awarded through the UAE's Year of Sustainability initiative, marks a continuation of the national drive to embed sustainable actions across all sectors. This year's focus shifted from learning to doing, encouraging organisations to act across four areas: green transport, energy and water conservation, responsible consumption, and planting wisely. ADNEC Group's submission was recognised for its ambitious, system-wide sustainability efforts. ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi is now fully powered by clean energy - sourced from solar, wind, and nuclear - through a Clean Energy Trade Agreement with EWEC. This offsets all electricity-related carbon emissions via International Renewable Energy Certificates (IRECs) accredited by the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, making it the first and largest event venue in the Middle East to achieve this milestone. In parallel, the group has introduced AI-driven HVAC systems at the venue, projected to reduce annual electricity consumption by 20%, or approximately 6 million kilowatt reduction and circularity have become central to the group's operations. More than half of all waste across ADNEC Group's business clusters is now recycled, and, the catering arm of the ADNEC Group, Capital Catering's facilities process up to 1,200 kg of food waste per day into compost or a dry soil enhancer. Used cooking oil is also converted into biodiesel. Meanwhile, TerraTile - a 100% recycled, modular flooring system developed with Terrax -turns event waste into durable flooring, offering a recyclable, UAE-made alternative to conventional stand materials. Additionally, when TerraTiles reach the end of their life cycle, they, in turn, can be recycled to produce new engagement was a key element of ADNEC Group's application. Tenable Fire Engineering Consultancy appoints chief executive officer to lead global growth
Specialist fire and life safety consultancy, Tenable Fire Engineering Consultancy (FEC), has appointed Sam Alcock as chief executive officer. In his new role, Alcock will lead the consultancy's strategic expansion, with a strong focus on scaling operations in existing markets and developing new regional and international opportunities. Alcock joined the consultancy in 2011 as a fire consultant and was appointed Dubai director in 2016. He has been instrumental in positioning Tenable FEC as a trusted fire engineering partner across the GCC and internationally, expanding the consultancy's footprint in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Africa and India while maintaining strong profitability and client relationships. In 2024, Alcock helped the company achieve a 25 per cent increase in revenue and led a company-wide restructuring to strengthen long-term agility in 2025. With Tenable FEC now Salamah-approved in Saudi Arabia and the local office fully operational, the consultancy is targeting 30 per cent growth in 2025, driven by large-scale infrastructure and masterplanning projects. Private Department of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Khalid Al Nahyan secures $816m real estate financing
The Private Department of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Khalid Al Nahyan (PD) has successfully closed a landmark AED3bn ($816m) syndicated real estate financing, marking a significant milestone in the group's financial strategy and capital markets journey. The 10-year facility will be used to refinance existing bank debt on enhanced terms, settle sukuk obligations, and support general corporate purposes, strengthening PD's long-term balance sheet position. Secured against a high-quality portfolio of real estate assets across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the structure provides PD with greater financial flexibility. Landmark real estate finance deal The transaction reflects strong institutional confidence in PD's financial strength and long-term vision. The syndicated loan was arranged by a consortium of leading local lenders: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank PJSC (ADCB) and Mashreqbank PSC (Mashreq) acted as Joint Coordinators and Account Banks ADCB, Commercial Bank of Dubai PSC (CBD), and Mashreq acted as Joint Mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners, as well as Hedging Banks Additional roles included ADCB as Facility Agent and Security Agent, and CBD as Market Hedge Coordinator Dr. Ahmed Mansour, Chief Executive Officer of PD, said: 'This is a milestone achievement. The Private Department has just managed to deliver one of its biggest goals in its financing strategy by closing this syndicate as well as updating its Debt Capital Market Programme.
