Morocco's Judicial Council Launches New Legal Information Website
Rabat — The Supreme Council of the Judicial Power launched today a new website dedicated to legal and judicial information.
The unveiling took place at the Council's pavilion during the International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL).
This initiative aims to help spread legal awareness, make legal and judicial information more accessible, and simplify access to these resources.
The new website is called 'The Legal and Judicial Library' (bibliotheque.cspj.ma), featuring downloadable and printable legislative and regulatory texts. It also features studies, books, and articles written by judges from across Morocco.
Additionally, visitors can access annual and thematic reports from the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power, along with its publications in all areas under its jurisdiction.
The Supreme Council of the Judicial Power wants to make the new website a vital reference for professionals, students, researchers, and all legal and judicial experts seeking legal information.
This launch fulfills the strategic goal of improving access to justice and implements Action #113 from the Council's Strategic Plan (2021-2026), which emphasizes the need to make legal information widely available and easier to obtain.

Approximately 20 million Moroccans now have digital identification, with 11 million receiving medical benefits and 7 million accessing scholarships through this system.

King Mohammed VI Sends Eid Al-Adha Greetings to Islamic Leaders
Doha – King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, has sent greeting cards to the sovereigns, presidents, and emirs of Islamic states on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. The monarch expressed warm congratulations and best wishes for health, happiness, and peace to his counterparts across the Islamic world. This year's celebration marks a significant departure from tradition in Morocco. For the first time in nearly 30 years, the country is observing Eid Al-Adha without the customary sacrifice of sheep. In February, the sovereign called on citizens to forego the ritual slaughter to preserve the nation's dwindling livestock. The royal directive cited 'climate and economic challenges' that have caused a 'substantial regression' in Morocco's sheep population. Since 2016, the country has lost 38% of its livestock, with breeding ewes declining from 11 million to 8.7 million in 2024. Moroccan authorities have implemented immediate measures following the King's decree. Officials closed livestock markets nationwide, prohibited animal sales and slaughter, and temporarily shut down municipal abattoirs. In some areas, even the sale of utensils associated with the sacrifice ritual has been restricted. The decision follows seven consecutive years of drought that have severely impacted Morocco's agricultural sector. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the accumulated rainfall deficit has directly contributed to the sharp decline in livestock numbers. The shortage has caused red meat prices to soar, placing additional economic pressure on Moroccan families. In previous years, between 5.5 and 6 million animals were slaughtered during Eid Al-Adha in the North African country. This massive annual culling has become unsustainable under current climate and economic conditions. Understanding the religious significance of the occasion, King Mohammed VI will personally perform a sacrifice on behalf of all Moroccans. This approach follows the example of Prophet Muhammad, who also sacrificed on behalf of believers unable to do so themselves. The government has declared Monday, June 9, an exceptional public holiday to allow Moroccan families to extend their celebrations. The official Eid Al-Adha will be observed on Saturday, June 7 (10 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 H). To mitigate economic impacts, particularly on seasonal workers and merchants who depend on Eid-related commerce, the government has implemented a MAD 3 billion ($300 million) aid program. An additional MAD 3.2 billion ($320) will be injected by 2026, primarily focused on rebuilding the female breeding stock. Despite the absence of the sacrifice ritual, Eid Al-Adha remains a sacred occasion for Moroccans. Many families are adapting by purchasing smaller quantities of mutton and liver, key ingredients in traditional Eid dishes. The King's father, Hassan II, made a similar decision in 1996, marking the last time Morocco observed Eid without the traditional sacrifice. Historic Social Agreement at Maroc Telecom Brings Wage Hikes, New Benefits
Doha – The National Telecommunications Union (SNT), affiliated with the Democratic Federation of Labor (FDT), has secured a substantial social agreement with Maroc Telecom management that improves working conditions and benefits for employees and retirees. This agreement marks a positive transformation within the company since Mohammed Benchaaboun took over as head of its collective management in March, ending Abdeslam Ahizoune's 27-year tenure that was marked by criticism for anti-competitive practices and labor disputes. The announcement followed a meeting between the union's Secretary General, Hamid Kejji, and the company's Human Resources Director on Friday. This discussion continued the social dialogue initiated during previous talks in April with Benchaaboun. Marhaba 2025: Morocco to Boost Maritime Transport with 520 Weekly Sailings
Rabat– Morocco will boost its special maritime passenger transport to and from southern Europe with 520 weekly sailings under the Marhaba 2025 operation. This was announced Thursday by Mustapha Baitas, government spokesperson and Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament. Speaking after the weekly government council meeting, Baitas said that the operation, will increase transport capacity to 500,000 passengers and 130,000 vehicles per week. To meet this demand, 29 vessels from seven shipping companies will operate 12 routes connecting Moroccan ports with key ports in Italy, France, and Spain. The operation also focuses on strengthening security by enhancing border control equipment and offering close support through 24 reception centers—18 inside Morocco and six abroad. Specialized medical teams will be deployed along major roads and rest areas to ensure travelers' health and safety. Additionally, consular services will be mobilized on weekends and holidays from June 15 to September 15 to assist travelers. This year's Marhaba operation is set against expectations of an unprecedented influx of about 3.5 million travelers, primarily Moroccans living in Europe, representing a 4% increase over previous years. Around 890,000 vehicles are expected to cross the Strait of Gibraltar, marking a 5% rise that may be partly attributed to Spain's migrant regularization program. An investment of approximately MAD 28 million (around $2.8 million) has been dedicated to upgrading reception infrastructure at Tanger-Med port to better handle the flow. Overall, Marhaba 2025 aims to ensure smooth traffic management, enhanced security, proximity support, and heightened health vigilance, in line with royal directives to guarantee a safe and efficient return for Moroccans abroad during the summer season.
