27 Home Items Amazon Customers Are Loving August 2025

Amazon has a list of products called "Movers and Shakers," which is pretty much just fancy talk for things that are currently ~trending,~ Here are some of the most useful and loved home products on the list this week: Some super-useful stick-on wall hooks because whether you need to hang a bag, a hat, a towel, or just about anything else you want up off the floor, these have GOT YOU. Make back-to-school a breeze by having a Designated Spot for the backpack/lunchbox situation without having to hunt down a hammer. Promising review: "The hooks look good quality and so far none of them comes off the door. It's great for hanging hats and handbags. It looks like it can hold several handbags and hats so the durability is good." —Yuyu LiPrice: $9.99+ for a 4-pack (available in 6- and 12-packs and in five colors) A set of vacuum storage bags: Fairy godmother-approved to make your out-of-season wardrobe go *poof*, or at least to make them flat enough to store somewhere other than your overcrowded closet. Promising review: "Every spring and fall I dread the thought of switching out my wardrobe. I was packing everything in giant Tupperwares and dragging it up and down from the attic. Now that I have this, I can tuck all my clothes neatly in the top of my closet AND they will stay cleaner and fresher than before. I also want to say that I was a little worried that the plastic bags would have an odor to them that may taint the clothes inside, but there was no odor at all. All in all very happy with this buy!" —Britney FrandsenPrice: $11.58+ (available in four sizes and packs of 10, 15, 20, and 25) A Bentgo bento-style lunchbox for kiddos with a built-in space for the ice pack to keep the food well and truly cold. Shout-out to all my fellow '90s babies who remember the limp cheese sandwiches when the ice pack would slide to the far reaches of your lunchbox. Today's kids don't know how good they have it. Psst. If you're thinking about back-to-school, I LOVE Bentgo's whole line, including their backpacks and lunchboxes. Promising review: "I have a few different bentgo products. I like this one in particular because it has four compartments and has the cooler part. My son has to have something in each spot of his lunchbox so the four compartments are better than the five one. The 90 opening is a little different and something to get used to. The cooler is great so I don't have to worry about if the food is staying at a safe temperature. We also use these for travel to keep snack items cool for the kids." —NicolePrice: $22.99 (available in nine colors) And a Bentgo Kids lunch bag in the cutest prints to get your kiddo excited to go back to school. I LOVE that the Bentgo lunchboxes have a handle that unbuckles so you can attach the lunchbox directly to the backpack! Less to carry for your kid (and for you at the end of the day.)Promising reviews: "We got the dinosaur print and we love it. My son started preschool and he a tiny toddler but the strap makes it easy for him to carry his bag when he wants to be independent. His bento box fits perfectly and I love that it has a little cup holder makes it easier to put things together on busy morning and have less things to carry." —Alma "I'm thrilled with the Bentgo Kids Lunch Bag! It fits perfectly in my child's backpack and accommodates several sizes of Bentgo bento boxes with ease. After a whole season of being dragged through grass and enduring the rigors of summer camp, it still looks great with only minimal scratches and no stains. While it's on the pricier side, its rugged portable durability and excellent performance (no leaks!) make it a worthwhile investment. The zipper has had no issues, which I have found to be a problem with other brands. The shape and weight are super versatile and allow for ease of portability. Highly recommended for active kids!" —Ashley CosmiPrice: $19.99 (available in 23 prints) A zippered mattress protector that will help keep your mattress clean, dry, and bedbug or dust mite–free. Bonus points that it won't slip and slide beneath your sheets because the zipper and tight fit will keep the protector from budging! Promising review: "Love the fact it is not a stiff plastic but a soft cloth-like cover. Was easy to put on and was deep enough to cover my 14' mattress. Definitely worth it." —Kathie D BrazilPrice: $19.99+ (available in 12 sizes and various multipacks) An easy-twist chicken shredder tool to kiss the irritating two-fork method of trying to make dinner goodbye for good. Promising review: "I cannot say enough about this little gadget for shredding chicken!!! It is amazing! I have done the two-fork method – that's exhausting. I have done the beater/mixer method — that's messy. But THIS is easy, quick, and shreds chicken like it should be shredded — so it gets used often. Just spray both pieces with some olive oil, let chicken cool a little after frying, and easy peasy—shredded chicken for so many dishes. I LOVE THIS. I always slice my chicken breasts thin into about three pieces and this will handle all three at a time." —DPrice: $7.99+ (available in eight colors) A Black + Decker cordless dust buster handheld vacuum so you can finally get that crusty mummified fry lodged between your driver's seat and the console. I could fit my laptop, tablet, and more at the same time. The material is nice and it has a metal frame to keep it sturdy. They are sturdy but lightweight, enough not to weigh down your closet rod. I bought them for all the closets in my home. I suggest you buy at least two sets." —CottageDesignsByErinPrice: $14.30+ (available in nine colors and packs of 30, 50, and 100) A hat organizer tower for displaying your cap collection with pride and also getting rid of the unseemly pile in the corner of your closet. ~Hats off~ to you for tidying your space! Promising review: "This is wonderful. I have gone through so many hand held squeeze juicers and they all broke. This is heavy duty and gets all the juice out. It is easy to clean and comes with suction feet. Be careful that you put the handle all the way up before you move in or it may hit you in the head and it's heavy. This cast iron juicer should last long enough to get passed down in the family." —Catherine AdkinsPrice: $69.99+ (available in four colors) A nonstick ceramic frying pan reviewers love for its heat distribution and easy cleaning. (And that I love for its resemblance to Rapunzel's frying pan without the heavy weight of cast iron.) Promising review: "My inexpensive 8-inch frying pan was reaching the end of its life. I bought this one based on reviews — and I love it. It's substantial but not cast-iron-heavy. It truly is nonstick, and washing up is a breeze. Great quality without the high-priced brand pricing." —TwisterjesterPrice: $19.99+ (available in five sizes and three colors) An olive oil dispenser and sprayer if you're tired of buying aerosol cooking sprays or constantly digging through your cabinet for the oil. This is cute enough (and convenient enough!) to leave out on the counter. Promising review: "I absolutely love this oil sprayer/pourer! I try to avoid aerosols whenever possible due to their strong smell, so this product is a fantastic alternative. It's easy to use and effectively prevents oil from getting everywhere, which makes cooking and meal prep so much more enjoyable. One thing to note is that you have to pull the lever pretty quickly to achieve a fine mist; if the oil comes out too chunky, it means you're going too slowly. Once you get the hang of it, it delivers a nice, even spray. Overall, it's a great addition to my kitchen that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a mess-free way to use oil!" —pinnaclePrice: $8.99+ (available in 10 colors and various two-packs) Some double-hook shower curtain rings so you can hang your shower curtain and liner ~separately~ which makes it so much easier to keep everything neat and tidy. (Especially helpful if you're about to go on a pre-school top-to-bottom house cleaning spree.) Promising review: "I absolutely love these shower hooks!! I bought them approximately 6 months ago and they remain in great condition, even in a humid bathroom with little ventilation. They are sturdy and easy to use, as well as aesthetically pleasing! Highly recommend and worth the price! Having hoods for both the inner and outer curtain make such a big difference when cleaning or showering." —Gaby BurgosPrice: $5.97+ for a pack of 12 (available in 11 colors) A lightweight Eureka stick vacuum powerful enough to get all the ick out of your space for a fraction of the price of some of those competitors. Call me old-fashioned, but I love a clearly visible dustbin so I can 👀 at all the sweet, sweet dust I'm busting as I clean. Very motivating. Promising review: "It is lightweight and easy to use but powerful. I was able to reach places I normally have to move furniture for. Picks up cat litter easily. Works on carpet but since it doesn't have carpet brush not as good as a full size vacuum. Very easy to go from upright to hand held with one hand. Easy to empty the dust cup. I wish I would have found this sooner. Great for quick small cleans ups. Very well made. I would buy again." —Karen FPrice: $29.09+ (available in four styles and four colors) A Dash rapid egg cooker for when you just want a little egg to go with your meal, but don't want the big hassle of prepping it on the stovetop. It's like having your own personal egg butler! Promising review: "I am so glad I bought this. I love the fact that the sound when it is done is not that annoying scoreboard buzzer sound. It plays a little tune or chime. It is easy to follow the measurements for water, the plastic measuring cup has two labeled sides, just make sure you use the fill to line for the proper amount of eggs placed in it. Solid purchase I am happy with it." —Carmen San Diego Price: $16.97+ (available in two sizes and seven colors) A Bissell multipurpose carpet and upholstery cleaner reviewers swear by for carpets, car seats and car seats (iykyk), rugs, and anything else upholstered that has been through any rough summertime oopsies and spills. An oscillating Dreo tower fan with four speeds if you're tired of the stagnant air getting you down and need a little easy ~breezy~ quick fix. Promising review: "This fan is fantastic. I can't believe I waited so long to put a fan in my office. My office has been way too hot all week and was way too hot when I plugged it in earlier today, and now it feels cool. It didn't change the temperature one single degree but I feel cool now. It's a huge fan and it came in a huge box. It took maybe three minutes to put the stand on it and get it started. Remote control worked perfectly wit the first use. I have it oscillating, set to level 2, and every time it hits me, it feels icy cold. Wildly effective. Level 2 is very quiet. On level 4, it's a pretty loud droning noise, but it also is moving a huge amount of air, so I understand. I would recommend this to anyone." —Regular DudePrice: $69.99+ (available in four colors) A folding nonslip step stool for those of us who are ~vertically challenged~ and want to have access to more than just the bottom 5 feet of our living spaces. Promising review: "Great little step stool. Works great for me and my kiddo. Helps her reach the sink and me to reach the higher cabinets. I love how it folds up and stashes away in a corner until needed so it's not in the way." —VictoriaPrice: $9.99+ (available in six sizes and 19 colors) A digital meat thermometer so you can get the perfect temp for meats. (You'll be so impressed when your steak comes out so well without 100 little stabby stabs in it from obsessively checking the color.) Promising review: "This little digital thermometer is fantastic! It's super easy to use and has a magnet to keep on the side of the stove for convenience." —Tammy MathiesonPrice: $16.99+ (available in two colors) A mesh shower caddy to make the room-to-shower journey a one-handed breeze. Life is hard enough without trying to juggle your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, and whatever else with only two hands. Promising review: "I'm so glad I bought this shower caddy! I used to just warm water on my stove and those days are over. I count to 5 and my water is the perfect temp. I loved it so much I bought my mom one too. Definitely great value and great quality." —JuliannePrice: $17.25+ (available in two sizes and two styles) A lemony scented travel-size Poo-Pourri toilet spray to spritz in the toilet before you go that uses ~magic smell science~ to keep any undesirable smells trapped in the bowl. It's like an air pre-freshener, and this travel size is perfect for keeping in your bag! Promising review: "Bought this specifically to use on our cruise. Promising review: "I was surprised to find the racks are a plastic material but once I put this together I found it works really well! The wire racks I was using aren't great for heels because they fall through the opening. This is very flat and stable to hold all types of shoes and other items." —SAPrice: $11.99+ (available in five sizes and five colors) A Brita filter water pitcher to fill up your emotional support water bottle with ease sans the funky tap water taste! Promising review: "The pitcher is easy to use and dismantle for washing. It's eliminated the weird taste or slight "grit" which regular tap can sometimes give you. It's also not too wide so it can easily fit inside even a smaller fridge. The filter speed is quick which is also great. The cost of additional filters isn't unreasonable either in my opinion." —TajPrice: $24.06+ (available in two styles and two colors) And finally, a mulberry silk pillowcase which can help keep your hair from tangling overnight, and that many reviewers swear keeps them much cooler than their nonsilk cases. 50 Alternatives To More Expensive Products You'll Love So Much, You May Shed A Tear

A TikTok-famous "Soft" perfume rollerball that'll have you smelling like a walking, talking, sugar-filled bakery — all for only $6. It has a hint of sweet citrus, and plenty of reviewers compare it to the smell of warm sugar cookies. Plus, it even reminds reviewers of the popular (and VERY expensive) "Pink Sugar" perfume. 👀 A pair of "Dreamlux" leggings reviewers can't help but compare to Lululemon thanks to that buttery soft material — but, like, a lot cheaper. They're perfect for running errands, lounging around, or even hitting that squat goal at the gym — because yeah, they're just that comfy. A Baccarat Rouge 540-inspired moisturizing body wash with white jasmine, red currant, and sweet amber so you can smell as ✨expensive✨ as you feel. A 🍒cherry bag charm🍒 you can clip onto your purse or keys because loving cherries is a personality trait at this rate, and honestly, why not embrace it? This looks pretty much just like the $95 Coach one, and even has a nice feel and weight to it (but like, wayyy less expensive). A tote bag people will ~swear~ is the Longchamp Le Pliage bag at first (and second, and third) glance — after all, it even folds up into a lil' compact rectangle just like it. It's the perfect bag to take along to the office, thanks to how sleek and professional it looks — plus, it's large enough to fit a laptop, toiletry bag, and everything else you could possibly need. Or an elevated laptop tote bag because you deserve to strut into work in style. It's roomy, super versatile, and the perfect alternative to the Béis Work Tote, but a lot less $$$. Reviewers even say they like this one a lot better. A lingerie bodysuit with an elegant lace pattern and plunging neckline to make you feel ~sexy~ without having to drop $$$ on that expensive Victoria's Secret set you've been eyeing. Believe me, that special someone in your life will surely love it. 😉 Eos' Shea Butter Vanilla Cashmere body lotion reviewers compare to more expensive brands like Philosophy and Bath and Body Works. This lotion is alllll over your socials thanks to the lightweight, long-lasting moisture — and the fact that it smells like paradise in a tube. A classic herringbone necklace so those strangers you pass by at Starbucks think you ~actually~ spent $13,000+ on a gold necklace. This is so close to the Tiffany HardWear version, no one will believe you were able to snag it for only $20. A ~weightless~ liquid cream blush that'll give you a gorgeous, soft, dewy finish. It's easy to blend on your cheeks, and you'll fall in love with how pigmented, long-lasting, and buildable it is! AND apparently (you didn't hear this from me), it's giving Rare Beauty a run for its money *sips tea*. A seamless, compressive ribbed bodycon jumpsuit oh-so-freakin' similar to the Skims jumpsuit that has dominated your FYP lately, but for like a fraction of the price. It's the perf 'fit for a low-impact workout, a casual outing, or simply modeling for your Insta story. No one has to know that you got it from Amazon. A bottle of Elizavecca Hair Treatment for anyone who wants a frizz-free, silky look without paying exorbitant salon prices. Just apply it to wet hair, leave it in for five minutes, and say goodbye to the damaged look your hair has been sporting after years of abuse at the hands of bleach and flat irons. Many reviewers even say this is comparable (or even better) than the pricey Olaplex No.3. An oversized hoodie, because why pay for an Abercrombie Essential Popover hoodie when this is basically the same thing for so much cheaper? You're gonna wanna snag one (or five) of these ASAP. An interactive Petcube pet camera with a wide angle and night vision, for peace of mind since you'll have the ability to check in on your furry baby 24/7 — for like a fraction of the price of the famous Furbo. A three-pack of vintage-inspired sunglasses to make you look like you dropped money on RayBans, but sans the crippling worry of accidentally dropping 'em. No need to fear losing these bad boys while lounging poolside at that fab resort you booked — these glasses are not only super cute but extremely affordable, so you can keep a backup pair (or two) for the days you misplace these at the tiki bar. An affordable longline sports bra if you've always wanted the Lululemon look, but you don't feel like dropping 💸💸💸 on the name brand. The look and material are so comparable to Lulu, no one will believe you were able to snag this from Amazon. Time to get one in every color. A quilted purse that's really giving ✨Chanel.✨ It's luxurious, has quilt stitching (be still, my beating heart), three compartments, and is super sophisticated-looking. You'll find yourself reaching for this bag on every occasion. The best part? This bag won't cost you a whole month's rent. Or a chain purse if you've always salivated over the thought of owning Gucci's Dionysus bag, but your bank account says ✨no.✨ This has the same chain style and front clasp, so no one will even be able to tell the difference — don't worry, I won't spill your lil' secret. A Renpho percussion massager with five different heads and speeds so you can use it all over your body. You can give yourself a great deep muscle massage at a much more affordable rate than the TheraGun that's been sitting in your cart for the last few weeks. A 20-pack (!) of extra-thick magic cleaning pads that will erase any crayon, pen, or scuff marks from... well... just about anything. Walls, floors, tubs, sinks, cars, and shoes — even the decrepit chandelier in the foyer can be cleaned with a lil' bit of elbow grease, some water, and these magical sponges. It's pretty much just like Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, just ✨cheaper ✨. A set of aesthetic wrist and ankle weights because *yes*, you absolutely CAN look cute even with weights literally strapped to your wrist. And all without having to sell out $50+ on a set of trendy Bala Bangles??? You're gonna be the trendiest person at your gym. An adorable, roomy duffel bag, incredibly similar to Herschel's duffel (but, ya know, waterproof), that will be the perfect accessory for your weekend trip, with the added bonus of being cute enough to not clash with your perfectly curated 'fit. A 6-quart Dutch oven that will elevate your kitchen aesthetics, but won't hurt your wallet like the chef-beloved Le Creuset. This baby heats up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and cooks everything evenly, so it can withstand a bunch of different cooking styles — no problem! Use this baby to cook up some rice, soup, stew, or even some sourdough bread. Essence's Lash Princess Mascara for those of you who would love a way to get the falsies look for $5! This mascara is incredibly affordable, incredibly volumizing, and lasts the entire day — plus, it comes off so easily, no smudging or makeup remover required! Say goodbye to the days of shelling out for more expensive mascaras like Too Faced Better Than Sex, L'Oreal Telescopic Lift, and many, many more — this one is infinitely better. A set of satin pillowcases that are gentle on hair, meaning you're less likely to experience tangles or frizz, no matter how much you toss and turn. And no, you don't need to spend as much as you would buying the popular Slip pillowcases. E.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer, with tea tree and vitamin E to smooth out the appearance of wrinkles, blur pores, and get that whole IRL filter look. Plus, it hydrates your skin, lasts all day, and is a lot cheaper (yet incredibly similar to) Tatcha's Silk Canvas primer! Time to make this a staple in your makeup routine. A pair of Cushionaire cork-bottom sandals if you want that Mayari Birks feel but without that higher ticket price. They're incredibly flexible, so they're comfortable to wear for long walks across the beach or through the outlet mall. They have over 75,000 ratings on Amazon, and reviewers basically swear by them! A trio of hydrating lip sleeping masks to give you soft and supple lips for less than half the price of the popular Laneige lip mask. These masks use ingredients like berry extract and vitamin C to target dry and cracked lips while you sleep. There are three different scents, so you can share them with friends — or hoard them all for yourself. L'Oreal's illuminating Lumi Glotion for those of you who want that perfect "no-makeup" look. You can use this in place of foundation or simply add it to your existing makeup look for a bit of a glow. Plus, it's under $15, so it's the perfect substitute for the pricier options like Glossier Futuredew and Drunk Elephant's D-Bronzi Drops. A fanny pack to keep your most valuable items strapped close to your chest — it's necessary while you weave through a busy mall or an overpopulated airport terminal. And it's striking just how closely it resembles the Lululemon belt bag. A pair of stylish teardrop earrings so much cheaper than the (very) expensive Bottega Veneta ones that look exactly like them. These gold-plated earrings may look heavy, but reviewers swear they're lightweight and perfect for those with sensitive ears. A midi corset dress to make you feel like you're a modern-day princess just taking a walk through the woods. It has a back cinch and a front tie, basically all the same features as the TikTok-famous House of CB Carmen dress (but you know, not $225) — your little heart will be aflutter at the sight of this cutesy dress. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water that will gently cleanse your skin and lift away even waterproof makeup, along with dirt and excess oil. Reviewers even prefer this to Bioderma, which is more than double the price. Slingback heels so similar to Chanel, you'll find yourself triple-checking the price just in case! You can pair 'em with slacks or a cutesy lil' dress — you'll basically be radiating luxury. And a pair of slip-on loafer mules with the iconic gold clasp that'll have your friends swearingggg they're Gucci. Sophistication, meet an affordable price tag. Yeah, you def need these ASAP. A faux pearl choker so dainty and elegant, Vivienne Westwood herself will be impressed by how ridiculously similar it looks to the real one. Snag one of these to add a bit of "ooh la la 🥂" to any 'fit you throw together. A spandex-blend slip maxi dress sure to be your go-to piece any time of year. It's a gorgeous and simple dress that you'll find yourself slipping on every time you have an event where you wanna feel ✨fancy. ✨ Plus, it's so incredibly similar to the popular Skims one, but affordable enough that you can actually buy one in every color. Or a ribbed square-neck, long-sleeve maxi dress, also incredibly similar to the Skims one for a fraction of the price. It's soft, it's stretchy, and it's uber comfy, so you'll find yourself reaching for this piece almost every single day. Maybelline's Cheek Heat gel-cream blush that's about one-third the price of Glossier's Cloud Paint and gives a nice touch of color to your cheeks with only a dot or two. It's super pigmented, buildable, and ridiculously easy to use. Seriously, no one will even be able to tell the difference between this and the more expensive option. A sleeveless halter bodysuit so you don't have to overpay for a closet staple ever again. Its buttery soft feel reminds reviewers of the famous Skims one, with some even claiming that they prefer it to the name brand! A cubic zirconia cuff that'll have strangers actually thinking you spent (wait, checks notes) $17,000 😱 on the Cartier Love Bracelet. Not only is it less than $12, but you don't need to screw it on — unlike the way too ridiculously expensive version. And on that note, a cubic zirconia ring because you've always wanted the Cartier Love Ring to match, but not the price attached to it. It's simple, it's elegant, and it's pretty much guaranteed to never go out of style. Time to get one in every metal. A classic pleated tennis skirt to make it look like you belong at a country club tennis court — no one's gotta know you've got a budget. Reviewers have compared these to Nike, Alo, and Aritzia — hello, bougie! Or a high-waisted mini skirt that looks incredibly familiar (hello, Aritzia? Is that you?) and made with a satiny material that is sure to make you feel ~très chic~. This skirt comes in a bunch of different colors, so you can snag a bunch of 'em for the same price as a single name-brand one — and no one will even be able to tell the difference. A simple, gorgeous tennis bracelet to add some ✨sparkle✨ to your wrist, but ya know, without costing you the down payment of a nice house in the suburbs. This elegant piece looks just like Swarovski, and reviewers say it doesn't tarnish, so it's bound to last you a lifetime. After all, diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but cubic zirconia is her lover. Eve Hansen Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum to make you feel like you just got a facial, when really all you did was apply a few drops of this lil' magic potion. It'll hydrate your skin, reduce under-eye puffiness and dark circles, smooth fine lines, boost overall hydration, and create a radiant glow✨! Plus, reviewers even compare it to TNS Recovery Complex serum, which is literally over $200 for a 1-ounce bottle (YIKES). A full-zip track jacket because dropping $100+ on that Lululemon Define jacket honestly does not seem like the best financial decision at this time — but honestly, why would you, when this baby is so similar and literally a fraction of the price?! And yeah, don't worry, it even has the thumb holes. An expensive-looking faux-leather belt that is sure to become the focal piece of your outfit. Is it actually Gucci? Perhaps not. But those buddies you meet weekly for brunch don't gotta know that. Nyx Fat Oil Lip Drip, because why spend $40+ on that one Dior lip oil, when you can have basically the same thing for $9?! It's hydrating (thank you, vegan squalane), has beautiful sheer colors, and, despite the gloss, is surprisingly not sticky! Literally gorgeous. A loungewear set for those of you who don't want to sacrifice comfort for style. You can lounge around confident in your fashionista status with a set that looks ridiculously similar to the Skims set the Kardashians are known to adore. 'Skibidi' and 'tradwife': social media words added to Cambridge dictionary

Words popularised by Gen Z and Gen Alpha including "skibidi", "delulu", and "tradwife" are among 6,000 new entries to the online edition of the Cambridge Dictionary over the last year, its publisher said Monday. Cambridge University Press said tradwife, a portmanteau of traditional wife, reflected "a growing, controversial Instagram and TikTok trend that embraces traditional gender roles". The dictionary also took on the challenge of defining skibidi, a word popularised in online memes, as a term which had "different meanings such as cool or bad, or can be used with no real meaning". The gibberish word was spread by a YouTube channel called "Skibidi Toilet" and is associated with the mindless, "brain rot" content found on social media and consumed by Gen Alpha's overwhelmingly digital lifestyle. The dictionary defined delulu, derived from the word delusional, as "believing things that are not real or true, usually because you choose to". As an example, it cited a 2025 speech in parliament where Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese used the phrase "delulu with no solulu". "It's not every day you get to see words like skibidi and delulu make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary," said Colin McIntosh, Lexical Programme manager at the Cambridge Dictionary. "We only add words where we think they'll have staying power. Internet culture is changing the English language and the effect is fascinating to observe and capture in the Dictionary." Other new phrases include "lewk", used to describe a unique fashion look and popularised by RuPaul's Drag Race, and "inspo", short for inspiration. Work from home culture has given rise to "mouse jiggler", referring to a way to pretend to work when you are not. There is also "forever chemical", man-made chemicals that stay in the environment for years and have gained traction as concerns grow about the irreversible impact of climate change on the health of humans and the plant. aks/jxb
