Can Steve From ‘Blue's Clues' be a ‘Counterweight' to the Manosphere?
And then, he'll listen to you listening to him.
On Wednesday, Mr. Burns, 51, announced in a YouTube video — featuring the original thinking chair from the children's show and some of his signature expressive hand gestures — that he was launching a podcast called 'Alive,' which will be available in the fall.
'You and I have always been about this deep and curious investigation of our world,' he said in the video, addressing the audience. 'It used to be about shapes and colors and letters and numbers and vegetables and stuff. But now it could really be about death and sex and taxes.'
The name, Mr. Burns said in an interview, refers to the 'weird and wonderful things that go into being a human being on planet Earth' and also is a tacit nod to the fact that, for years after he left his role on the Nickelodeon show in 2002, he was presumed to be, well, not alive. This podcast was a reclamation, of sorts.
Pernicious rumors of Mr. Burns' being dead swirled while he was dealing with clinical depression, and were exacerbated by the internet — a combination so corrosive that 'I started to wonder if it was true,' he said, 'if everyone else was onto something.' It led him on a yearslong 'sloppy mess' of a journey dealing with his mental health concerns.

Xavier Worthy reacts to Taylor Swift's viral NFL draft reaction: 'That's crazy'
Taylor Swift, NFL draft scout? While most of the attention surrounding Swift's appearance on the "New Heights" podcast was focused on her relationship with Travis Kelce, the pop star also pointed out her excitement during the 2024 NFL Draft. Specifically, Swift detailed her elation about the Kansas City Chiefs' selection of Xavier Worthy with the 28th overall pick. On Tuesday, Worthy responded to the viral clip. "That's crazy," Worthy said. "I ain't gonna lie, she's the biggest pop star in this generation so it's crazy to have somebody running around the house screaming, 'We drafted you!'" The pick was only made possible after the Chiefs traded up with the Buffalo Bills, which became cause for celebration in the Swift residence. "I became like a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, 'We drafted Xavier Worthy,'" Swift said. Kelce was a non-believer at first, saying that he wasn't sure if Swift had the right information. "I forget where I was, but you were the first person to tell me that we drafted the fastest man in the draft," Kelce said. Chiefs fans were given many reasons to be happy about the selection and their newest superfan wasted no time joining the crowd. "I was freaking out," Swift added. Worthy certainly proved to be a solid addition to the Kansas City offense in his rookie year, totaling 742 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns on 79 touches – also proving to be someone that rose to the occasion in the postseason. Heading into his second season, the former Texas star will look to build off an impressive rookie year. Turns out, he'll be doing it with one of the world's biggest celebrities in his corner. Car Crashes Into Food Influencers Through Restaurant Window While They Were Filming
Two vloggers are recovering after a car crashed into the restaurant where they were filming a food review. Patrick Blackwood and Nina Santiago were about 10 minutes into their review of CuVee's Culinary Creations in Houston on Aug. 16, when they caught the terrifying moment on video. The two posted the full incident on their YouTube channel two days later, showing them biting into their food as a car crashes into the window near their booth. Patrick appears to be sitting closest to the window and was covered with shattered glass as Nina is seen falling out of her seat. After looking around, Patrick then helps Nina get up from the floor as they walk away. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the female driver claimed she thought she put her black SUV in park outside of the restaurant and after releasing her foot off the brake, the vehicle rolled into the building. The sheriff's office says the two people inside the booth were injured and taken to a local hospital. Nina and Patrick documented their journey in the ambulance and at the hospital on video, showing some of the scratches on their faces, chins and arms. They were also visibly shaken when recounting the crash on camera. Solve the daily Crossword
