Poland to Sign $2 Billion Deal With US for Air-Defense Program

Bloomberg31-03-2025

Poland will sign a $2 billion contract with the US on Monday to supply logistical support for Patriot missile-defense systems, the country's defense chief told broadcaster Polsat.
'Air-defense is the biggest investment into the Polish army, requiring the largest funds,' Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said in Krakow. 'This is the protection of the Polish sky, this is within Polish airspace — so it is an absolute priority for us and it is very good that there is a Polish-American cooperation in this area.'

IonQ, Inc. (IONQ): NVIDIA CEO Is Giving A Green Light, Says Jim Cramer

We recently published a list of . In this article, we are going to take a look at where IonQ, Inc. (NYSE:IONQ) stands against other stocks that Jim Cramer discusses. IonQ, Inc. (NYSE:IONQ) is one of the few pure-play American quantum computing hardware companies. The firm was a regular feature of Cramer's appearances earlier this year in January. Back then, the quantum computing sector was basking in the glory of Google's announcement that its quantum computer had significantly outperformed a supercomputer. Investors started piling into quantum computing stocks, but Cramer remained a skeptic. Back then, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang knocked the wind out of the quantum computing bubble after he remarked that the technology wasn't mature. Yet, in a turn of events in late May, IonQ, Inc. (NYSE:IONQ)'s shares surged by 22% after its CEO commented in an interview that his firm could be the 'NVIDIA' of quantum computing. Cramer's comments revolved around NVIDIA's CEO changing tack on quantum computing: 'There are four quantum stocks that we have to follow. Some of my people that I work with were very, I think that they were, probably concerned that I went out and said, look we ought to be looking at . . .we ought to be looking at, you know the ones that people talk about. But they're gonna fly!' A quantum computer on a countertop in an engineering laboratory with a technician at work. Recently, Cramer commented on IonQ, Inc. (NYSE:IONQ)'s valuation: 'Oh my god, it's so high and it's losing so much money, but it's quantum. If I offer you a considered explanation of why I think that stock's too expensive, most people ignore it, so all I'm going to say is it's too speculative for me. I don't know what else to say.' While we acknowledge the potential of IONQ as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. Trump hits back at Tucker Carlson for accusing him of abandoning ‘America First' by supporting Israel: ‘I decide'

President Trump rejected rightwing pundit Tucker Carlson's criticism that he is abandoning America First principles with his support for Israel amid its military campaign against Iran. Carlson, an ardent Trump ally, fumed at Israel's preemptive strike on Iran last week, dubbing the US 'complicit in the act of war' and arguing that, 'politicians purporting to be America First can't now credibly turn around and say they had nothing to do with it.' Trump said he wasn't familiar with Carlson's critique but contended that, as a pioneer of the modern America First movement, he's the final arbiter of what it means to put the US first. Advertisement 'Well, considering that I'm the one that developed 'America First,' and considering that the term wasn't used until I came along, I think I'm the one that decides that,' Trump told The Atlantic in response. 'For those people who say they want peace—you can't have peace if Iran has a nuclear weapon. So for all of those wonderful people who don't want to do anything about Iran having a nuclear weapon—that's not peace.' 4 President Trump argued that supporting Israel is compatible with America First principles. Stephen Yang Initially, the Trump administration had drawn distance from Israel's aggressive posture towards Iran. Ahead of the strikes, Trump told reporters that 'I don't want them going in because I think it [an attack] would blow' the US nuclear negotiations with Iran. Right after Israel struck Iranian nuclear sites, took out top scientists and killed top military brass, Secretary of State Marco Rubio put out a statement underscoring that, 'We are not involved in strikes against Iran.' Trump later took to Truth Social, reminding Iran that it had blown past the 60-day deadline he gave to make a deal and urged the theocratic regime to cut a new pact on its nuclear program. Advertisement Carlson had long been a skeptic of foreign policy hawks drumming up hostility towards Iran and was adamant that the US should avoid war with Tehran at all costs. 'While the American military may not have physically perpetrated the assault, years of funding and sending weapons to Israel, which Donald Trump just bragged about on Truth Social, undeniably place the U.S. at the center of last night's events,' the former Fox News host wrote in a newsletter following the strikes. 'Washington knew these attacks would happen. They aided Israel in carrying them out,' he added. 'Politicians purporting to be America First can't now credibly turn around and say they had nothing to do with it.' 4 Tucker Carlson had been a close ally of President Trump, with his son working for Vice President JD Vance's team. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that last week's strikes were 'just the beginning.' Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed that 'Life will be dark for them.' 'They started it. They started a war.' Israel's preemptive strikes on Iran come at a moment of perceived weakness in Tehran. Iran's proxy forces have taken a huge drubbing over the past two years, with the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, Israel mounting a stunning pager attack that wiped out top Hezbollah leaders and Hamas's leadership being decimated during the war in Gaza. Prior to Israel's attack, the US and Iran had been expected to have another round of talks about the regime's nuclear program Sunday in Oman. Those talks were cancelled in the wake of the strikes. Trump has since publicly reiterated that the US was not involved with the attack and Iran and warned the regime not to attack American assets. 4 Israel knew where top Iranian military leaders would assemble and carried out a brutal military strike there. 'If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before. However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!'

Pence says US ‘needs to be prepared' to help Israel destroy Iranian nuclear program

Former Vice President Pence on Sunday said that the United States 'needs to be prepared' to help Israel destroy the Iranian nuclear program. 'If Israel needs our help to ensure that the Iranian nuclear program is destroyed once and for all, the United States of America needs to be prepared to do it, because this — this is about protecting our most cherished ally,' Pence told CNN's Dana Bash on 'State of the Union.' On Thursday overnight, Israel bombarded Iran, moving forward with its largest-ever military operation against its common Middle East rival and upending a push from President Trump for a nuclear deal with Iran. The U.S. attempted to quickly distance itself from the strikes that targeted critical nuclear facilities and killed Iran's top military leaders. However, Trump administration officials were reportedly briefed on plans prior to the strikes. Iran later retaliated by launching swarms of drones following the Israeli military strikes. On Sunday, the conflict had stretched into its third day. 'They've been working on intercontinental ballistic missiles that could reach the United States,' Pence said of Iran on Sunday. On Thursday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the U.S. did not take part in the Israeli strikes inside Iran. 'Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region,' Rubio said via a statement.
