College football recruit killed after being hit by a truck while on his motorcycle
Eastern Michigan football commit Elijah Berman has died aged 17 after being hit by a truck while riding his motorcycle. The teenager, who was part of the college team's 2026 recruiting class, was involved in the crash in Franklin, Ohio on Tuesday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred at 5:12pm after Berman - who had been driving a 2006 Suzuki DL1000 motorcycle - was struck by a 1995 Peterbilt 379 semi truck. According to law enforcement, the truck was driven by 41-year-old Anthony Allen of Michigan, who 'struck the motorcycle in the intersection'. Berman, 17, was transported to Atrium Medical Center, where he later died due to his injuries. Allen also received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The teenage star was a defensive lineman from Dayton who committed to Eastern Michigan earlier this month. Tributes for Berman quickly flooded online, with Chaminade Julienne Principal Greg Mueller writing: 'It is with broken hearts that our community comes together to embrace the family and friends of senior student Elijah Berman who tragically died Tuesday evening. 'Eli was an all-around Eagle — a member of the football and track teams, had recently accepted an offer to play college football at Eastern Michigan University, was an Eagle Ambassador, participated in the Little Sibs program and was a strong student with a big personality. 'We ask for prayers for God's peace and comfort through this tragic and most difficult time'. Meanwhile, Berman's football coach took to X to share his own tribute, as he shared a picture alongside the talented defensive lineman. He wrote: 'We are mourning the passing of Elijah Berman. Our thoughts & prayers are with his mother Heather, current teammates, family & friends. 'Elijah was ultra talented, yet it was his big heart, infectious smile, & awesome personality that made us fall in love with him. RIP Elijah'.

BREAKING NEWS Ex-Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker suspended by NFL
Justin Tucker will reportedly be suspended for the first 10 weeks of the NFL regular season for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Tucker has been embroiled in a sexual misconduct scandal involving several massage therapists in the Baltimore area, leading to his release from the Baltimore Ravens last month. Tucker had been viewed as one of the NFL's best kickers before his off-the-field trouble began. Now, his prospects of being signed have dwindled even further for the 35-year-old due to the hefty suspension, per the Washington Post. Earlier this year, the married football player was accused of sexual misconduct by 16 massage therapists from across eight spas and wellness centers in the Baltimore area. Tucker has denied any wrongdoing and previously branded the accusations 'shocking and heart-breaking'. But on May 5, the Ravens made the 'tough decision' to release him. Speaking for the first time since the release, head coach Harbaugh maintained Wednesday that the move was a 'football decision' last month. 'I mean, you're talking about arguably the best kicker in the history of the game,' Harbaugh said, via ESPN. 'And like we said, it's multi-layered [and] it's complicated. But in the end, it all comes back to what you have to do to get ready for your team to play the first game.' 'And I think if you step back and you take a look at all the issues and all the ramifications, you can understand that we've got to get our football team ready and we've got to have a kicker to go. And that was the move that we decided to make. So in that sense, it's a football decision and now we have to spend all of our focus and our time to get these kickers ready.' 'We've got a competition going on and [we've got to] get these guys ready to make kicks. So that's all I'm thinking about. From my perspective, it's like, "We have to have a kicker out there making kicks and what's the best way to get that done?"' In a statement announcing Tucker's release, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta made no mention of the allegations, instead heaping praise on Tucker, a Super Bowl champion who had been with the Ravens since 2012. DeCosta's comments came under intense scrutiny. Among the allegations leveled against Tucker are that he repeatedly - and deliberately - exposed his erect genitals. Two therapists claim he brushed them with his penis. More than once, meanwhile, the kicker is accused of leaving what appeared to be ejaculate on the massage table. Back in February, it was reported that NFL investigators visited Baltimore to interview therapists who had made the bombshell claims about the Ravens kicker. Around the same time, DeCosta called the allegations 'serious and concerning' and refused to rule out terminating Tucker's contract.

Horror moment tree surgeon bites off EAR of ‘bar-room bore' and spits it on the floor in gruesome pub brawl
THIS is the disturbing moment a tree surgeon bit the ear off a pub-goer in a shocking brawl. The gruesome scene unfolded at The Kellbank Hotel and Restaurant, in Gosforth, Newcastle, Tyne and Wear on July 8, 2023. 7 7 Horror CCTV footage captures Paul Connor, a tree surgeon and dad-of-two, wrestling with Christopher Hewer inside the venue. Two women, and a male staff member, attempt to separate the pair, to no avail. One of the women, Hewer's partner Antonia Holliday, wearing a long floral skirt and black top, gets involved in the scrap. She can be seen violently punching Connor, before a third female, rushes in and slams the her into a wall. The woman, wearing a white jumper, is then violently dragged back by the hair, by Hewer. At this point there are five pub-goers tangled together and scrambling on the floor. Hewer can even be spotted stamping on one woman's head and face before Connor jumps in and drags him off. Still swinging, thug Hewer is punched by Connor again and the pair are restrained by two staff members. Carlisle Crown Court heard Connor spat the appliance engineer's ear off before a woman nearby picked it up and wrapped it in a napkin. The chaotic fight was sparked at just before midnight after a "drunken" Hewer was talking loudly to customers' faces, the court heard. He struck up a conversation with Connor, who was unknown to him. An irritated Connor tried to ditch Hewer, who then walked away, but then came back and tried to punch him. Prosecutor Tim Evans said: "It to the credit of a number of people, none more so than the staff member, that they try to stop the violence." Connor, aged 33, of Fenton Close, Speke, Liverpool, admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and also affray. 7 7 7 Hewer, aged 44, of West View Road; and Holliday, 36, of Hinnings Road, both Distington, admitted affray. Connor's barrister Kim Whittlestone told the court her client's behaviour was out of character and "something snapped". Mitigating for Hewer, Marion Weir said: "Even after two years he is feeling the effects." Judge Michael Fanning sentenced Connor to four-and-a-half years in jail. Sentencing Connor Judge Fanning said: "But I have to deal with you for what you have done - you have used a weapon to inflict this injury. "Use of the teeth is a weapon." Hewer received an immediate 18-month prison sentence. Sentencing Hewer Judge Fanning said: "You started this. "You provoked Mr Connor to the position he found himself in - you came out of this very much the loser with a very serious injury." Holliday's 15-month custodial term was suspended for a year, as the judge noted she was the sole carer of two children. She must complete 200 hours' unpaid work and also received an alcohol ban. 7
