Over 300 Flights Suspended In Italy Due To Technical Malfunction
ROME, June 29 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- A data transmission failure at the Area Control Centre in Milan on Saturday evening led to the suspension of over 300 flights in multiple cities across northwest Italy, Xinhua reported, quoting ANSA news agency.
The incident occurred at around 9 pm local time (1900 GMT), leading to flight suspensions or major restrictions on take-offs and landings at airports within the affected airspace, including those in Milan, Bergamo, Genoa and Turin, said the report, adding that technicians are still working to restore air traffic operations.
The Area Control Centre in Milan is one of the four regional control centres operated by ENAV, the Italian air navigation service provider.

China Eastern Airlines has resumed its Kunming-Mandalay flights. - Xinhua KUNMING: Flights between Kunming, capital of south-west China's Yunnan Province, and Mandalay in Myanmar resumed on Sunday (June 29), restoring a key route that had been suspended after a powerful earthquake in March, according to China Eastern Airlines' Yunnan branch. The Kunming-Mandalay route is operated using Boeing 737 aircraft under flight numbers MU2029 and MU2030. The schedule remains unchanged from before the suspension, with four round-trip flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the airline said. The route was suspended after a 7.9-magnitude earthquake on March 28 damaged infrastructure at Mandalay airport. Following airport repairs and the resumption of international flight operations, China Eastern Airlines decided to resume the service to meet passenger demand. The resumption of flights is expected to facilitate bilateral trade, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, as well as post-disaster reconstruction cooperation between China and Myanmar, while enhancing Yunnan's connectivity with South-East Asia. Asean remained China's largest trading partner in the January-May period.
