MSI's $7,000 Vision X AI has a 13-inch AI 'Human Machine Interface' touchscreen embedded into the chassis

In a time when AI is sprawling everywhere, from your mobile phones to video games, imagine if the same reached your PC, literally. MSI's Computex 2025 booth has a very interesting gaming pre-built, namely the MEG Vision X AI, the front face of which cosplays as an "AI Human Machine Interface," thanks to the attached 13-inch touchscreen and a slew of AI goodies, if that suits your fancy.
Under the hood, the Vision X AI can be configured with Intel's latest Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200S processors (Ultra 9 285K/Ultra 7 265K) along with an RTX 50 series GPU (RTX 5070 Ti to the RTX 5090) from MSI's Shadow, Ventus, or Gaming families. Combined, the RTX 5090 can deliver 3,400 TFLOPS of FP4 performance, while Arrow Lake's NPU sits at a modest 13 TOPS of INT8, and MSI makes sure none of this compute power goes to waste. The system was first showcased at Computex last year, followed by the official unveiling at CES this year.
The built-in AI HMI (Human Machine Interface) intelligently detects the user activity and adjusts performance settings accordingly. By default, the display shows PC statistics such as CPU/GPU temperatures, clock speeds, fan RPM, while serving as your personal AI-hub for interfacing with various LLMs, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Meta, and Claude. It features a built-in microphone and speaker that will let you issue commands to either the MSI app or Microsoft Copilot.
MSI also includes a cloud-independent model for chatting and generating images, which runs locally on your machine. If inferencing AI is not your niche, this 13-inch touchscreen can double up as a secondary monitor for YouTube or OBS, but the bezels are rather distracting.

The Vision X AI features the MSI Project Zero Z890 motherboard, which hides the cables behind the motherboard to improve aesthetics. For cooling, MSI has opted for a 360mm AIO liquid cooler, complemented by the included Glacier Armor heatsinks covering the VRM and SSD, which are said to lower temperatures by 25%. MSI's 'Silent Storm Cooling AI' system uses Artificial Intelligence to control fan speeds for optimum cooling efficiency, reported with a noise level of just 17.7 dB(A) during silent operation.
For front-panel I/O, you'll find one USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps), plus separate microphone and headphone ports. The rear panel features two Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) ports, one 5GbE, S/PDIF, and two audio jacks. Power is supplied by a Gold Certified PSU, with 850W and 1200W options selectable at the time of purchase. Wireless connectivity is provided by Intel Killer WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
If you fancy yourself a personal AI-HMI experience, the MSI Vision X AI is already available for purchase at a handful of retailers. The top-tier configuration carries a price tag ranging from $5,000 to $7,500, depending on your retailer of choice. While seemingly exorbitant, the price could be palatable for some, considering how difficult and expensive it remains to purchase an RTX 5090 separately.

Google Maps lets you customize your car icon on Android and iOS — here's how to do it

When you're driving around on Google Maps, whether you're an Android or iPhone user, you'll always be represented on the map with the boring default arrow icon. But what if I told you that it doesn't have to be that way? Because you can change the look of your avatar, and Google's just released a bunch of new options. In the past Google only offered 3 alternate options, 3 colorful vehicles to mix up your navigation screen. Now, though, Google's updated Google Maps to offer 5 more options — each available in one of 8 colors. Though it isn't quite so easy to figure out how. It doesn't matter where to, or if you even plan to go, just find a location with the search bar, then tap Start. It may sometimes appear as a large white dot with a blue center (Image: © Future) You'll then see a pop-up menu showing off different icons you can use — including the arrow and a bunch of different cars. Simply scroll left and right until you find the avatar you like, and tap it. (Image: © Future) Once you've picked your car, you'll need to select a color. The default is white, but there are 7 other options for you to choose from. Then tap Done Just be warned that the original 3 car icons, which can be found at the far right, are only available in a single color. There you have it, your Google Maps icon is now a fetch new ride that looks a heck of a lot more interesting than the boring 2D arrow that you had before. Just remember that you can go back anytime to mix things up, and pick up a brand new driving icon to accompany you. Intel's lackluster Arrow Lake appears to have a refresh inbound — Arrow Lake Refresh appears in reference document

If we are to believe a leaked manual for an upcoming Intel W880 motherboard, the Intel Arrow Lake-S processor will seemingly have a refresh successor. Popular hardware leaker momomo_us shared an image of the purported motherboard reference document with the CPU labeled Arrow Lake S/Arrow Lake S Refresh. Previous rumors point to another generation of the Arrow Lake architecture, focusing only on high-end K and KF chips. So, it would make sense for motherboards designed for high-end workstations to take advantage of this refresh. Unfortunately, we do not see any other information on the document, so we will have to wait and see if manufacturers of more mainstream consumer and enthusiast motherboards will release new models for this alleged Arrow Lake update. The Intel Core Ultra 200S series arrived on the scene in October 2024, around two months after the company released its disastrous financial report. Team Blue sorely needed a win to help it get back on course—unfortunately, the Arrow Lake wasn't it, as sales for its latest processor stagnated just a week after its launch. After half a year on the market, the company still struggles to sell its AI chips, with many customers preferring the older Raptor Lake CPUs. One reason behind this could be the chip's lack of gaming prowess. It has consistently trailed behind AMD's outstanding offerings, especially the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and was even outperformed by Intel's own last-generation chips. And even though the Arrow Lake processors boast an NPU and offer higher AI processing power, most buyers don't care about that. This, combined with the higher prices, meant that there was low demand for these CPUs. If the Arrow Lake-S Refresh chips are indeed arriving, Intel must address the gaming performance issues. Otherwise, buyers would shun them and instead flock towards options that deliver more FPS and do not bottleneck other components. Despite all the negativity in the gaming space for the Arrow Lake-S chips, Intel has made some interesting innovations in the processor. It has improved power consumption and efficiency, reducing its cooling requirements. It's also a productivity powerhouse, with the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K beating most of its competitors in Cinebench. This was the first Intel desktop CPU to use a chiplet-based design, so it's bound to have first-generation hiccups. Hopefully, the company can fix some of the concerns with the refresh, allowing us to get the most out of the Arrow Lake architecture.
