'I tried the viral Refy highlighter - it has completely changed make-up routine'
Having a good highlighter can be the shining star of your makeup bag - literally. They can revive a dull looking complexion, and make your skin glow, even if you're not feeling it. They are perfect for enhancing a bit of skin shimmer, and Refy's Gloss Highlighter promises just that.
When it comes to liquid highlighters, I am a little cautious, as I don't want to look too shiny - and being blessed with oily skin can maximise shine even when I don't want it too. I have usually avoided liquid highlighter in the past due to not being able to blend them well, so I was intrigued as I'd heard how easy this was to apply.
There are a various different highlighter formulas on the market including powders, sticks and creams, but I think liquid highlighters come out on top every time. They give the most natural glow, and are easily applied with your fingers, instantly giving glass-like skin.
When I first saw the Refy Gloss highlighter, I won't deny, I was a little hesitant due to how bronzed it looked, and I didn't want it to dull down the pinkiness of my cream blush. I applied a small dab onto my middle finger and then tapped it over my cheekbones lightly.
The highlighter seamlessly applied to my skin and I couldn't believe how much it transformed my cheekbones. It complimented my blush well and it gave me a beautiful pearly glow. It gave a very intense shimmer, that really elevated my makeup look, and something I've never had before.
Even my friends had commented on how good my makeup looked, and my only difference was that I'd used the highlighter. It works for an array of different skin tones which makes it the perfect highlighter for everyone.
My one concern about liquid highlighters is that it's so easy to add too much, and end up looking a little extraterrestrial, so with the Refy gloss, a little definitely goes a long way - which is great as it will last me a while.
Crafted with a lightweight, non-sticky formula that glides on effortlessly it definitely gives a radiant, dewy glow. Packed with Vitamin E, it helps to leave the skin feeling nourished. What I also like is that it doesn't have to just be applied to your cheekbones, it can be used on eyelids, under brow, cupid's bow, lips and collarbones too.
Shoppers have given it a glowing 4.9 star review, with many gushing over the product. One fan said: "The most beautiful fluid highlighter I've ever tried. Beautiful not too light color, non sticky, with a mix of a shiny/ pearly finish." While another said: "I love this highlighter, it blends well and gives a glowy look, but it doesn't last as long as I'd have hoped."
Rare Beauty also have a range of different highlighters which are also popular with beauty lovers. The Positive Light Liquid Luminizer works well with all skin tones and is long-lasting and lightweight, making it easy to layer over other creams, liquids and powders without disturbing makeup. Packed with light-reflecting pearl particles, it provides a luminous finish to the skin.
A cheaper alternative is the e.l.f. Halo Glow Highlight Beauty Wand Liquid Highlighter for a luminous glowing skin effect. With a cushion-tipped applicator, it provides a naturally sculpted complexion and it makes it easy to use and blend in.

Soccer-Man United boss Amorim hails Sesko's 'great potential' after big-money move
(Reuters) -New Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has all the attributes needed to help bolster their attack, manager Ruben Amorim said as he hopes to unlock the 22-year-old Slovenian's full potential after his big-money move to Old Trafford. Sesko completed his 76.5-million-euro ($89-million) switch from German side RB Leipzig to United on Saturday, with a further 8.5 million euros in bonuses. He signed a contract until 2030 to complete a new-look front three alongside fellow close-season signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. The Slovenia international, capped 41 times, scored 39 goals in 87 appearances across all competitions for Leipzig. "He has the characteristics that we needed," Amorim told MUTV on Saturday. "Ben is a player - with all the information that we have - that we need to stop the guy from working, not the opposite! "So that is also important. He's really young. He's good in the air, he's good at running the channels, good on the ball. I think he has great potential. I think he can improve a lot and, for sure, he is going to feel at home in our club. "He has the right character to be in this group, so I'm really happy to have him." Sesko was introduced at Old Trafford before Saturday's friendly match against Italian side Fiorentina, which United won 5-4 on penalties after drawing 1-1. "He is going to notice, since the first day and first training, that he is in the right place," Amorim added. "He is going to a new building (at Carrington), that is also important. Things are getting better but, in the end, we need to win games." United, who have spent around 200 million pounds ($270 million) following their 15th-place finish in the Premier League last season - their lowest in the top flight in 51 years - begin their new league campaign at home against Arsenal on August 17. Govt working to combat concert ticket scalping
JOHOR BARU: The Communications Ministry will hold discussions with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry to address the growing issue of concert ticket scalping at inflated prices. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry was currently reviewing the matter, including the possibility of introducing a Bill to tackle the matter. "The Communications Ministry has also engaged with event organisers and ticketing companies to find the most suitable solution to this issue,' she said at a press conference for the Johor leg of the Madani MSME Digital Grant Festival 2025 in Permas Jaya on Sunday (Aug 10). Teo said the problem is most common at high-profile international concerts, such as G-Dragon's, where soaring demand allows scalpers to resell tickets at heavily marked-up prices. Last Friday, Teo chaired a meeting with representatives from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to address the growing concern of ticket scalping, which is hurting the country's entertainment industry. She said the session gathered input and proposals from agencies directly involved in monitoring and enforcing concert ticket sales, while also examining examples from countries with anti-scalping laws.- Bernama

MCMC records statement over false content about Zara Qairina's case
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has recorded a statement from an individual over false content circulated on social media in connection with the late Zara Qairina Mahathir's case. In a statement, MCMC said the person was summoned to the Cheras police headquarters on Saturday (Aug 9), where a mobile phone and a SIM card were also seized to assist investigations. "The content is believed to contain false information touching on 3R issues (race, religion and royalty), which could cause public confusion and disrupt the authorities' investigation,' the statement read. The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 [Act 588], which carries a maximum fine of RM500,000, up to two years' imprisonment, or both, upon conviction. MCMC also urged the public to allow the investigation process to run its course and to be wary of speculative content that could mislead the public. "The spread of unverified information not only risks hurting the feelings of the victim's family but also breaches ethical values and may interfere with the course of justice,' the commission said. Zara Qairina, 13, was pronounced dead at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu on July 17, a day after she was found unconscious in a drain near the dormitory of a religious school in Papar around 4am. On Saturday, the Form One student's grave was exhumed on the orders of the Attorney General's Chambers, which called for further investigations to ensure every aspect of the case is thoroughly scrutinised.- Bernama
