Radhika Yadav didn't own academy, trained aspirants at rented courts: Cops
This came after the police earlier said that Radhika ran an academy which Deepak Yadav (49) had a problem with, saying he was taunted by people about living off his daughter's earnings, as claimed by the accused. However, the investigation has found out that Deepak Yadav earned handsome money through rental income generated through various properties he owns. Police said that he was not dependent on Radhika's money, but was depressed for some time.Deepak also earned around Rs 15 lakh per year from his broker business. He used to tell his daughter to shut down the academy as he was earning enough for the family.Police also said that there have also been claims that the father was not happy with her daughter's popularity on social media and that she wanted to become an influencer. Some people have also cited a certain music video that Radhika featured in recently as the reason that infuriated Deepak, resulting in her killing. However, brushing aside the claims, inspector Vinod Kumar of Sector 56 police station said, "The video was uploaded in 2023 and it has no connection with the murder. The accused has repeatedly said that he did not want his daughter to earn through training."DEEPAK YADAV'S JUDICIAL CUSTODYEarlier today, a Gurugram court remanded Deepak Yadav to 14 days of judicial custody. He has been lodged in Bhondsi jail. The police produced Deepak before the court but did not seek his custodial remand. The court then ordered his judicial custody.Sources told India Today TV that Deepak told the police during interrogation that he was disturbed due to the taunts from villagers and had not slept for the past 15 days. He had become increasingly withdrawn, wandered restlessly in the house, and refused to speak even to his family members.Since Radhika's childhood, Deepak has spent over Rs 2.5 crore on her tennis training. However, an injury suffered two years ago kept her away from furthering her career in competitive tennis. On the fateful day, Deepak allegedly dumped four bullets into Radhika's body, three in the back and one in her shoulder on July 10.- Ends(With agency inputs)Must Watch

The accused, identified as Rahul alias Mohammad Shakib, had been absconding since July last year. He was arrested from the Piran Kaliyar area of Haridwar district, where he was living under a changed identity, STF Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Singh Bhullar said. Dehradun, Jul 13 (PTI) The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the robbery of jewellery worth Rs 3.70 crore from a showroom in Bihar in 2024, officials said. Uttarakhand: 82 fake babas held in Dehradun under ‘Operation Kalanemi'
Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh said the drive was launched on Thursday following Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's instructions to take strict action against those exploiting public faith under the guise of religion. With this, a total of 82 fake babas have been arrested under the operation in Dehradun, officials said. Dehradun, Jul 13 (PTI) Under 'Operation Kalanemi', launched by the Uttarakhand government, police here on Sunday arrested 34 more people, guised as sadhus and saints, to allegedly cheat people, officials said. 'Multiple teams have been formed, and action is being taken at locations where inputs are received about such impostors playing with people's sentiments,' Singh said. He added that among the 34 arrested on Sunday, 23 were residents of other states. In the last three days, 82 such individuals have been arrested from different areas of the district, and legal action is being taken against them under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the SSP said. Among those arrested is a Bangladeshi national, Rukn Rakam alias Shah Alam, who was apprehended on Friday from the Sahaspur area of Dehradun district. The SSP said the campaign would continue, especially in light of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra and Kanwar Yatra, during which such fake babas are reportedly becoming more active. Launching the campaign on Thursday, the chief minister said, 'Just as the 'asur' (demon) Kalanemi tried to mislead people by appearing as a saint, there are many such 'Kalanemis' in today's society who are committing crimes in the name of religion.'
