Steelers LS calls Mike Tomlin 'literally ruthless' despite being a player's coach
Many love to criticize Steelers HC Mike Tomlin for being a player's coach — but LS Christian Kuntz believes everyone has the wrong idea.
On Thursday's Kaboly + Mack podcast, Kuntz argued that Tomlin is just as 'ruthless' as he is motivational:
'Everything that's said in the public, and the way he acts, is truly the way he acts in the locker room in front of us,' Kuntz said. 'Motivating, you know, he's gonna get it out of you. People call him a player's coach, and yeah, obviously he's a player's coach, 'cause you see how many guys want to come play with him. A player's coach, yes, but he's gonna get on your a--. He is gonna let you know about every single finer detail; he is going to call you out. If you're not doing your job, you're being held accountable.'
Recently, Steelers legend James Harrison also weighed in on Tomlin's player's coach mentality — considering it both his best and worst quality.
How Tomlin's ruthlessness will mesh with the Aaron Rodgers-led offense remains a mystery — but the Steelers are hopeful this union will finally end their postseason misfortune.

New Texas A&M sharpshooter from Spain has arrived in College Station
Rubén Domínguez has made it to the United States and officially arrived in College Station last night 👍The 6'6' SG shot 41.5% from three on 164 attempts last season (3.3 3PA per game) in Spain's top pro of the most exciting additions for A&M has finally arrived ‼️ Texas A&M's basketball program is in good hands under new head coach Bucky McMillan, who has all but rebuilt a roster that lost every player outside of sophomore forward Chris McDermott after former head coach Buzz Williams departed for Maryland two months ago. Texas A&M Athletic Director Trev Alberts made the swift and correct decision in taking a chance on the 41-year-old coach, who spent his last five seasons coaching Samford, including leading the Bulldogs to their program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 20-plus seasons. Right out of the gate, McMillan landed 12 players from the transfer portal, while securing a commitment from Spanish guard Rubén Domínguez, who is by far one of the best shooters internationally, and could become an instant contributor as soon as the 2025 season. During his productive career in Spain, Domínguez accumulated 153 games played, 5.7 points per game, 1.4 rebounds, and a .362 field goal percentage. Domínguez also received Spanish ACB Week 13 Player of the Week honors in 2025. Shooting 42% from beyond the arc, the sharpshooter has one of the quickest releases you'll see, similar to former international and Tennessee guard Santiago Véscovi. This summer, Domínguez was not present for the early part of Texas A&M's summer workouts, but has reportedly arrived in College Station, according to his latest Instagram post. As TexAgs analyst Luke Evangelist states, forwards Federiko Federiko and Rashaun Agee are the only other two transfer additions yet to arrive. Still, they are expected to arrive in College Station in early July. Contact/Follow us @AggiesWire on X and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Texas A&M news, notes and opinions. While his tenure at Michigan State did not always go great, and some things were left to be desired, Sissoko has always been a fan favorite within Spartan nation. Even after he went to Cal, Spartan fans made sure to support their former center. Now, after the conclusion of the 2025 NBA Draft, players are signing on with NBA teams as undrafted free agents to participate in the NBA Summer League. Elite 2027 quarterback likes how Mike Norvell coaches
The FSU Seminoles recently landed the quarterback of their 2026 recruiting class in Jaden O'Neal, and now they are working on landing one for the 2027 cycle. One of their top targets is Jayce Johnson, a four-star prospect from Valdosta, Georgia. He recently named them one of his top five schools and locked in his commitment date for Aug. 3. Johnson will be deciding between the Seminoles, Texas A&M Aggies, Tennessee Volunteers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and South Carolina Gamecocks. He recently spoke with On3's Steve Wiltfong about his recruitment and explained what he likes about each school. For the Seminoles, it was all about head coach Mike Norvell and quarterback coach Tony Tokarz. 'The way Coach (Mike) Norvell coaches and the way Coach (Tony) Tokarz breaks down how he wants his quarterbacks to work within his offense," he said. Johnson is the No. 50 player and No. 5 quarterback in On3's industry ranking. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is also the No. 6 player from Georgia. He had a productive sophomore season for Lowndes High School, leading them to a 10-2 record. Johnson completed 67.2% (123-183) of his passes for 1,799 yards, 16 touchdowns, and three interceptions, per MaxPreps. He also rushed for 318 yards and three touchdowns on 79 carries, averaging 4.0 yards per carry.
