A 70-YEAR-OLD woman from Henan province, China dedicated nearly all her waking hours to watching livestreamers, resulting in an extravagant expenditure of 200,000 yuan (RM118,726) on jade jewellery, porcelain and health supplements in just three months.
Her daughter suspected that the livestreamers had marketed their products to the elderly, China Press reported.
The daughter, known only by her surname Wang, decided to check out these livestreams.
She discovered that these sellers claimed their goods were being sold below market price.
Her mother ignored her advice to not make such purchases.
'When they appreciate in value, I will leave all of them to you someday,' the mother said.
Authorities have since taken Wang's report and launched an investigation into online sellers.
> Singaporean singer JJ Lin shocked fans when he revealed that he has a heart condition and that he will be taking a break, the daily also reported.
Lin, 44, made the announcement during his concert on July 13 in Beijing – the final stop of his JJ20 Final Lap World Tour.
He had been diagnosed with heart disease in April last year and was taking medication.
'For the first time, I feel the sands of time flowing faster. How much longer can I sing? I told myself that even if my heartbeat becomes irregular, I will continue to work hard,' he said.
Fans pointed out that Lin appeared to be in pain during the show and was seen clutching his abdomen during his performance of No Turning Back that evening.
In spite of his condition, Lin completed all 103 concerts in his world tour.

Photos: China Press Hong Kong actress Regina Ho recently drew public attention after sharing a video documenting her lavish 28-day stay at a confinement centre following the birth of her first child. The 31-year-old welcomed a baby girl, affectionately known as Baby R, with her non-celebrity husband Cedric in April. The couple tied the knot in 2023. In her post, Ho expressed gratitude for the support provided by the confinement centre, especially as both she and Cedric are first-time parents. 'I had a relaxed and happy confinement period. Life is slowly returning to normal, and I look forward to watching Baby R grow up healthy day by day,' she wrote. In the video, Ho was seen getting out of a car that was specially arranged to pick her up from the hospital. Upon arrival, she was greeted with a fully prepared suite, complete with baby clothes and other necessary supplies. 'All I had to do was check in,' the TVB star said. Throughout her stay, Ho received round-the-clock care from a dedicated nurse for both herself and her newborn. She was also pampered with daily foot soaks, traditional Chinese medicine consultations for body recovery and six nutritious meals a day – each tailored to her needs by a nutritionist. To further elevate the experience, the confinement centre brought in a Michelin-starred chef to prepare her postpartum meals, which included ingredients such as fish maw and abalone. Additionally, Ho was treated to daily facials and body contouring treatments to help her regain her pre-pregnancy figure. She also received personalised coaching for yoga. After each workout, the actress didn't even have to lift a finger, even when she wanted to wash her hair as there would be employees assigned to help her do so. 'It's a queen-level indulgence,' Ho summed up her experience. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Regina Ho 何依婷 (@reginahyt)

(Video) Michael Wong Successfully Concludes 2-Day Concert At Stadium Merdeka

The past weekend saw a bunch of concerts, including back-to-back shows by Malaysian singer-songwriter Michael Wong, fondly known as Guang Liang (光良). The singer's two-day concert at Stadium Merdeka was a huge success and also earned the singer praise for a respectful gesture. Last Friday and Saturday (18th and 19th July 2025), Michael Wong held his 'Never Apart. Lonely Planet 3.0' concerts at Stadium Merdeka. The two-day show received a lot of attention from the start after the star announced that all tickets to the concert were uniformly priced at RM199. The generous move was to show Michael's gratitude to his fans for their love and support throughout his 30-year career in the music industry. The two shows were a success, with a total of 40,000 tickets sold for both days. Fans were also satisfied with the performances, as Michael sang all his classic love songs for more than three hours each night. Most amusingly, during Day 2, fans wouldn't leave the stadium after the show ended and continued chanting 'encore' despite it being after midnight. While Michael was flustered that fans wouldn't leave the hall, he continued singing for another half an hour. Michael also celebrated the success of his concert tour with a celebration banquet. During the event, he received a certification from the ASEAN Records for being the first artist to perform twice at Stadium Merdeka with full capacity and uniformly priced tickets. He also spoke candidly about how he fulfilled his promise to return to Malaysia and thanked the fans for their continued support. Interestingly, the singer and his concert also received praise for a respectful gesture. On Twitter, journalist Norman Goh revealed that both concerts started at 9pm to respect the Maghrib and Isyak prayers. The crew also paused the music at the venue during the Azan. Many netizens praised Michael and the concert organiser for respecting religion during the show and for showing cultural sensitivity. We congratulate Michael on the success of his concerts and his new ASEAN Record. We also share our kudos to him for respecting the prayer times.
