An investigation is underway after two people were injured early Sunday in what police say may be a possible industrial accident.
Police said that at around 7:50 a.m., a witness in 5500 block of Fifth Street S.E. saw a bloody adult woman crawling in traffic.
The injured woman indicated that a friend was trapped inside the yard of a local business.
Police say they were able to locate a severely injured man trapped under some overturned pallets.
Police and fire crews were able to lift the pallets off the man and pull him out.
Both victims were transported to hospital in critical condition.

Emergency crews respond to a crash on southbound Macleod Trail and 94 Avenue S.E. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025. One person had to be extricated from a car after a crash on Macleod Trail on Monday morning. The single-vehicle collision happened at southbound Macleod Trail and 94 Avenue S.E. at about 2:30 a.m. The car hit a utility pole in the median. The Calgary Fire Department says one person was able to get out of the car on their own and was taken to hospital as a precaution; another occupant needed the help of emergency crews to get out and was taken to hospital in serious condition. It's not known if impairment or speed are considered factors in the collision. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-cam footage is asked to call police at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
