Nvidia earnings topped forecasts by 10% over past 2 years, double the S&P 500 average
Nvidia's (NVDA) earnings and revenue beat Wall Street's expectations nearly every quarter over the past two years.
Over the past eight quarters, Nvidia's earnings per share exceeded Wall Street's projections by an average of 9.8%. Over that same time frame, Nvidia's quarterly revenue beat the Street by an average of 8.9%.
Meanwhile, S&P 500 companies reported earnings and sales roughly 5% and 1.3% above Wall Street's expectations in that time frame, according to Bloomberg data.
Only once in that period — during the second quarter of its fiscal year 2025 — did Nvidia's earnings miss forecasts. Its revenue has exceeded forecasts during each of the past eight quarters.
Stifel analyst Ruben Roy and Bank of America's Vivek Arya expect that Nvidia's April quarter earnings results — its fiscal 2026 first quarter — will show a "modest" beat, coming in above Wall Street's projections as they expect demand for the company's Hopper and Blackwell chips will outweigh potential impacts from a newly enacted ban on exports of its H20 chips to China.
Wall Street analysts estimate that Nvidia will report adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.88 on revenue of $43.3 billion, according to Bloomberg consensus data. The chipmaker reported adjusted EPS of $0.61 on revenue of $26 billion in the same period last year, Yahoo Finance's Dan Howley reported.
"We expect largely inline results and outlook despite the negative top-line impact related to recently disclosed H20 restrictions," Stifel analyst Ruben Roy wrote in a May 22 note to investors, citing "demand for H200, coupled with initial GB200 ramps."
Nvidia's H200 chips are its second-generation Hopper graphics processing units (GPUs), and its GB200 servers contain 72 of its Blackwell GPUs.
In February, Nvidia reported earnings and revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter that surpassed Wall Street's expectations as the chipmaker officially announced that it had achieved full-scale production of its latest Blackwell GPUs and generated $11 billion during the period from the latest AI chips.
Nvidia stock fell 8.5% following its fourth quarter report, however, as its outlook for the first quarter gross margin came in lower than estimates. Options traders tracked by Bloomberg forecast shares could rise or fall as much as 7.4% following Nvidia's results Wednesday after the bell.
Nvidia stock has struggled in 2025. Shares plunged in January when a new cheap AI model from Chinese startup DeepSeek prompted demand concerns for its AI chips, and again in April as Trump's trade war rocked the stock market.
The stock rose over 3% on Tuesday and traded flat on Wednesday ahead of the chipmaker's earnings report.

The $1.3 Billion Health-Tech IPO Everyone Missed--Until It Soared 21% on Day One
Omada Health (NASDAQ:OMDA) opened its first day of trading with a bangjumping 21% to $23 after pricing its IPO at $19. That move gives the digital chronic-care startup a market cap of roughly $1.3 billion. The $150 million raise was more than just well receivedinvestor demand came in more than 15x oversubscribed, with most allocations going to a concentrated group of institutional buyers. It's another sign that appetite for health-tech IPOs is heating up again. U.S. listings have raised nearly $25 billion year-to-date, and early-stage healthcare names are up an average of 18% since listing. Founded in 2011, Omada offers virtual care between doctor visitsfocused on diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and joint pain. What sets it apart? It's not chasing the GLP-1 gold rush. Instead, Omada supports people already on those drugs, helping them manage side effects, nutrition, and post-treatment maintenance. About 50,000 of its 679,000 members are on GLP-1s. CEO Sean Duffy told Bloomberg that while AI powers much of the back-end, real human interaction is what drives results. Our members tell us they want a personand I have yet to see anyone that feels accountable to ChatGPT, he said. Revenue for Q1 2025 came in just under $55 millionup from $35.1 million a year agowhile net losses narrowed by more than half to $9.4 million. That improving financial picture, combined with a clear niche in chronic care, could be what's drawing top-tier investors. Revelation Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Fidelity, and USVP are all among the largest shareholders. The IPO was led by Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan. OMDA now trades on the Nasdaq Global Marketand it's one more sign that digital health might be staging a real comeback. This article first appeared on GuruFocus.

Broadly Syndicated Loans: market size, structure and historical return profile
Market composition: what's inside the LOAN index? As of April 2025 month-end, the Bloomberg US Leveraged Loan Index included over 1,300 loans from over 1,100 borrowers, with $1.3 trillion in market value. Certain index breakdowns (by % market value) are below: Potential credit diversification Payment rank of BSLs in LOAN Index is secured, with the majority of loans classified as first lien, and may be notable in comparison to high yield bonds (Figure 3), which are often unsecured. Divergence of sub-sector and rating bucket allocation vs. high yield bonds is also noteworthy. For example, the Technology sub-sector makes up 7% of high yield bonds vs. 21% of BSL market (see Figure 4). While B-rated loans make up around 70% of LOAN Index as of April month-end, they comprise less than 40% of the HY Index. Structural differences in payment rank, as well as divergence in composition across sectors and rating buckets, may offer potential credit diversification. Potential risks BSLs are not without risk, however. A rally in interest rates would negatively impact floating-rate coupons, making it less appealing to crossover investors. Further, if holding individual loans, it should be noted that trade settlement times can range from a week to multiple weeks, while bond trades settle in T+1. Finally, Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) hold 65%-70% of the BSL market, and while having a captive investor is generally positive for the BSL market, any material disruption to the CLO market could put stress on the BSL market. Conclusion Floating-rate coupons and consequently strong performance in a high interest rate environment, coupled with secured payment rank and potential credit diversification, are structural traits that can influence how BSLs perform relative to other asset classes.

EU Seeks Deeper G-7 Defense Ties to Offset Trump's Upheaval
(Bloomberg) -- The European Union is racing to strengthen defense ties with key Group of Seven allies as President Donald Trump pares back the US commitment to the continent's security. ICE Moves to DNA-Test Families Targeted for Deportation with New Contract Where Public Transit Systems Are Bouncing Back Around the World US Housing Agency Vulnerable to Fraud After DOGE Cuts, Documents Warn Trump Said He Fired the National Portrait Gallery Director. She's Still There. The EU is aiming to conclude a defense and security partnership with Canada this month that will pave the way for Canadian companies to participate in a new defense fund meant to jump start a transformation of the bloc's industry, according to people familiar with the matter. The EU will also hold a summit with Japan in July when they'll seek to beef up a security agreement, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The EU is diversifying its relationships as Trump has upended the European security order that's maintained peace on the continent for more than 70 years. During his first term, Trump threatened to leave NATO and last year he said he'd let Russia do 'whatever the hell they want' to allies not spending enough on defense. The US president's abrupt pullback has led to the EU mobilizing hundreds of billions of euros to ramp up its defense spending. The defense agreement with Canada is expected to be one of the key deliverables of a summit both allies will hold in Brussels on June 23, intended to show the bloc's alignment with like-minded nations in this turbulent period, the people said. The pact will follow the blueprint set by a similar defense accord reached with the United Kingdom in May. As with the UK, such an agreement would be a stepping stone toward allowing Canadian firms to participate in the bloc's new €150 billion ($171 billion) loan-based fund to develop the EU's defense industry. Although Canada wants a strong signal from the summit with regards to its industry's full access to the new EU instrument, a security and defense pact only grants partial access to the bloc's fund, and full access would require another bilateral deal. Canada, a long-standing EU partner in security matters, is also participating in two other initiatives aimed at strengthening defense cooperation among willing member states, covering military mobility and the development of a network of logistics hubs in Europe. Similar to other defense partnerships signed by the bloc, the draft text, still under discussion, will also note shared interests, common threats, expected joint dialogues and several areas of cooperation, the people said. The bilateral summit between the EU and Japan will aim to strengthen a defense pact signed late last year by tapping into closer naval cooperation, among other measures. A spokesperson for the European Council chief, Antonio Costa, said the twin summits aim to 'deepen even more the already very close relationship that we have with these two key partners.' The EU has previously signed security and defense partnerships on issues like missions, training or industrial cooperation, with countries such as Albania, Japan, Moldova, North Macedonia, Norway and South Korea. In addition to defense, the EU is also looking to strengthen ties with both G-7 allies around a competitiveness alliance, although in the case of Japan the work is more advanced. Such new framework would serve to group existing bilateral initiatives in the field of economic security, supply chain resilience and competitiveness, although discussions continued between negotiators to determine the content and the format, the people said. --With assistance from Andrea Palasciano.
