Sana'a launches Ali Fayea Ramadan volleyball championship

The second edition of Ali Fayea Ramadan Volleyball championship on Monday commenced at the Sam Entertainment Club in the capital Sana'a.
The championship features 64 players from 8 teams, organized by the General Volleyball Federation Steering Committee with support from Walid Fayea, the son of the late Ali Fayea, and Muthanna Medical Center for Hearing and Speech Care.
Teams are divided into two groups, competing in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, leading to the championship final. The eight-day tournament is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth.
The first group includes teams named after Martyrs Yahya al-Sinwar, Hassan Nasrallah, Ismail Haniyeh, and Hashem Safi al-Din. The second group features teams named after Martyrs Saleh al-Sammad, Mohammed al-Daif, al-Qobri, and Abu Harb. Matches are scheduled for Ramadan evenings.
At the opening ceremony, Walid Ali Fayea, head of the steering committee, encouraged players to showcase their best skills. He emphasized the committee's commitment to revitalizing volleyball after a period of inactivity, aiming to restore the sport's former prominence.
On the opening day, Martyr Al-Sinwar defeated Martyr Hassan Nasrallah, and Martyr Hashem Safi al-Din defeated Martyr Ismail Haniyeh, both in straight sets. These results placed Martyrs Yahya al-Sinwar and Hashem Safi Al-Din at the top of the first group, while Martyrs Hassan Nasrallah and Ismail Haniyeh remained without points.
The matches were officiated by referees Muhammad al-Dhafri and Suhaib al-Adimi.
The second group's matches will begin on Monday evening, with Martyrs Saleh al-Samad facing Martyr Mohammed al-Daif, and Martyrs al-Qubari playing against Martyr Abu Harb.

Eight sports teams participated in the Championship, which were named after the names of the great martyrs and leaders "Hassan Nasrallah, Martyr Leader, Sinwar, Samad, Ismail Haniyeh, Al Aqsa, the Fund's team, and Al-Quds". The final match was held today between the teams of Martyr al-Sinwar and Hassan Nasrallah, which ended with al-Sinwar winning 6/5 goals; al-Sinwar's goals were scored by Mohammed al-Aghbari three goals, Abdul Rahman al-Khawlani "two goals", and Abdul Hakim Rashid "one goal". The Martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah team's goals were scored by Ayman al-Bahlouli, Muhammad Hamir Dabaan, and Muhammad Shihab al-Khatib, before referee Osama al-Houri announced the end of the match and crowned Sinwar as the champion of the tournament and title holder. After that, the Executive Director of the Fund for the Disabled, Dr. Ali Moghli, his deputy, Othman Al-Salawi, the Fund's Finance Director, Salim Al-Abyad, the representative of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mohammed Al-Faqih, and the head of the organizing committee of the Championship - the cultural and sports supervisor at the Fund for the Disabled, Majid Al-Nahmi, honored the first place winner "Al-Sinwar Team" and the second place winner "Martyr Hassan Nasrallah Team" with cups, medals and cash prizes. Sana'a - Saba: The Ramadan Summer Forum Championship, organized by the General Department of Qualitative Activity under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, continued at Al-Dharafi Stadium in the capital Sana'a for the cubs and buds categories. In the buds category, Martyr Hassan Nasrallah's team beat Martyr Qasim Soleimani's team with five clean goals, scored by Amir Mabrouk with two goals, Abdul Rahman Al-Sirafi with two goals and Ali Al-Jamal with one goal. In the second match, the Martyr Al-Qaeda team beat the Martyr Al-Sinwar team by three goals without reply, scored by Walid Al-Sebai with two goals and Amr Al-Sharaabi with one. In the cubs competition, the Al-Malsi Martyr team beat the Al-Madani Martyr team by four goals to one, with Saleh Al-Kamim scoring two goals, Mustafa Muftah and Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi scoring one goal each, while Al-Madani's goal was scored by Abdullah Marsh.
