UAE Football Association Suspends 2 Players for 5 Matches
UAE Football Association announced the suspension of 2 players for 5 matches in local competitions.
The association's disciplinary committee named the two sportspersons — Sharjah Club player Khalid Al Dhanhani and Shabab Al Ahli Club player Sultan Adel.
The association said they would be excluded from the national team roster, and fined them Dh500,000 each. This comes after the two players committed a violation inside the national team camp on June 7.
The national team manager, Yani Allah, said the decision comes in accordance with the disciplinary and sanctions regulations for national teams.
Shabab Al Ahli Club said it has decided to take necessary disciplinary measures against the player in accordance with its internal regulations. The club affirmed its strong rejection and condemnation of any behavior that contradicts the rules and regulations of the national teams and the Football Association.
'Representing the national team is a great honour for every player. Players are ambassadors for the nation, bearing the responsibility of reflecting an honorable image through their commitment to values, discipline, and sportsmanship,' the club said in a social media post.
UAE regularly ensures that sports events take place in the right spirit, imposing fines and disciplinary actions on players or fans who show unruly behaviour.
In May, Dubai-based football clubs Al Wasl and Shabab Al Ahli were fined a total of Dh150,000 following events that unfolded during the Adnoc Pro League match.
The fans of both the clubs insulted each other, and threw liquid bottles onto the pitch and at the opposing team's fans. Al Wasl fans also a smoke bomb.
Earlier this year, two football fans were arrested for using distress signal flares during matches.

Interior Ministry Penalizes 49 People For Transporting 197 Unauthorized Pilgrims
The Ministry of Interior has penalized as many as 49 people for violation of Hajj rules and regulations. The ministry said that the Hajj Security Forces have arrested 18 expatriates and 31 Saudi citizens at the entry points to Makkah while transporting 197 individuals who did not hold permits to perform Hajj. The ministry issued administrative rulings through the seasonal administrative committees against the transporters, accomplices, and unauthorized pilgrims. Penalties include imprisonment, fines of up to SR100,000, publicizing names of the violators in the local media at their own expense, deportation of expatriates with a 10-year re-entry ban after serving of the sentence, and legal proceedings for the confiscation of vehicles used in the violations. Unauthorized pilgrims face fines of up to SR20,000. In a related incident, Hajj Security Forces arrested 58 individuals for violating Hajj regulations by attempting to enter the city of Makkah without the required permits to perform the pilgrimage. They were referred to the competent authorities to slap the prescribed penalties. The ministry urged all citizens and residents to strictly adhere to Hajj regulations in order to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims during the performance of their rituals.

UAE Woman on Death Row for Husband's Murder Pardoned by Her Children
A woman sentenced to death for the murder of her husband in Ras Al Khaimah has been pardoned by her children, leading to a reduction in her sentence and early release from prison. The woman, identified as R.A., was convicted for her role in the 2015 murder of her 54-year-old husband, a diabetic lawyer. She carried out the crime with the help of her lover, H.M., and his driver, a Pakistani national. According to case records, R.A., who worked as an administrative employee at a school, began an extramarital relationship with H.M. Despite both being married, they plotted to kill her husband to begin a new life together. She initially administered excessive doses of insulin to her husband, hoping to gradually end his life without raising suspicion. When this failed, she added an anesthetic to the injection, causing him to lose consciousness. Believing he had died, she called her lover to assist in disposing of the body. Upon arrival, H.M. realised the man was still alive and proceeded to strangle him. He then offered his driver Dh10,000 to help transport the body. The victim was driven to a mountainous area, where his hands were tied before being thrown into a valley. His body was later discovered by a shepherd. Police investigations led to the arrest of all three individuals, who confessed to the crime during questioning. All were charged with murder and initially received death sentences. However, the woman's sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment after her children — the legal heirs of the victim — issued a formal pardon under UAE law. She was released after serving one year in prison. The death sentences for H.M. and the driver remain in place.
