IT'S an outfit donned by mums worldwide on a daily basis.
But according to one stylist, there's "nothing sexy" about leggings and a jumper - and "nothing about the look that makes you feel good about yourself" either.

Clodagh is a personal stylist, who helps "empower" women through their wardrobe choices, and documents the journey in videos on her YouTube and TikTok pages.
In a recent episode of The Clo's Show, she met up with mum-of-three Lesley, to help her get out of her style rut, and express herself with her outfits.
"I'm a stylist and I work with women every single day that suffer with their style confidence because they have been wearing this uniform of leggings," she began.
"Are you over 40, feeling meh and still stuck in leggings?" Clo wrote over the top of a TikTok clip of the installment.
"Watch Lesley ditch her leggings and get her confidence back!"
Lesley admitted she was "so stuck in the mindset of the leggings" that she just stuck them on in the morning before the school run.
But when Clo started to show her some other wardrobe options, she began to realise that she would be a lot more confident wearing something else.
And as an added bonus, Lesley already had all the clothes she needed in her wardrobe.
In the first outfit, she wore a pair of wide-legged black trousers and white slogan T-shirt, as she said: "I feel great. I feel very comfortable.
"It's actually nice to be out of the leggings!"
My favourite outfit has been labelled 'frumpy & ageing' by cruel fashionistas, but screw them… I'll be buried wearing it
"So what would stop you in the morning from not wearing this to drop the kids off or go to work in?" Clo asked Lesley.
"Look how happy Lesley was by just getting out of those leggings and putting on a plain pair of black wide leg pants that she bought in Tesco," she added.
"Look at the difference they make for her confidence!"
"The beauty of this is not only did Lesley not spend a penny, but her confidence has been elevated through the roof and she now understands how easy it is to put fab outfits together and how easy it is to mix and match her stuff," Clo added in the description for the YouTube video.
People were quick to comment on the video, with many agreeing with Clo's fashion analysis.
"I refuse to have leggings, tracksuits, baggy tops in my wardrobe," one wrote.
Styling tips for women 50+

GET A BRA FIT: Underwear is the foundation to every single outfit, so make sure your bra is the correct fit.
If you're off to a good start you'll finish with a great outfits.
EMBRACE COLOUR: Bright colours will lift your skin tone and will give you glowing skin.
INVEST IN GOOD BASICS: You'll need your essentials like a good pair of straight leg jeans, white shirt, white t-shirt, black blazer and well made black shoe. You can't go wrong with rotating them when you don't know what to wear.
AVOID SHAPELESS: Hiding your figure under shapeless silhouettes is doing to date you and make you look frumpy. Try fitted clothes that aren't figure hugging - you need to be able to breathe.
EXPERIMENT: Try different items you wouldn't usually go for and mix them with what you already have. The results can mean a better dressed and more confident you.
"I love to wear nice clothes daily - and it's cheaper than people think."
"Yes!!!" another said.
"It's all about how you feel and being in an outfit that makes your feel put together regardless of what you're doing."
"I'm 43 and I stopped wearing leggings a few weeks now," a third commented.
"I've a bit of a belly and skinny legs so I looked like Mr Tayto, so stopped wearing them as I felt leggings made my stomach look bigger."

‘That is BRUTAL' people cry as a tattoo artist shows off a man's hair tattoo that's giving ‘Lego businessman' vibes

HAIR loss is a sensitive subject to many and can be very distressing, having a negative impact on your confidence. While some learn to embrace their thinning mane and bald head, it seems that one man has taken a rather drastic approach - getting his 'hair' back in the form of ink. 3 3 The artist behind the masterpiece was tattoo whizz Chris Chow - but unfortunately, the man's new 'mane' hasn't become a major hit online. Chuffed with his work, Chris, from Dover, Kent, posted the jaw-dropping results on TikTok - and it's since gone viral for all the wrong reasons. In the video, which has been viewed more than an astronomical 2.3million times in just one day, Chris showed off the freshly inked head from all angles. The black 'tresses' were significantly darker and longer than the client's real hair, some of which had a grey and white tint. The rather bold tattoo also covered only the top of the man's head - whilst the bottom section still had plenty of his real hair. The brand new 'hairdo' also included a short fringe messily swept to the side and a slightly wavy effect. Chris, who posts under the username @ chrischow113, wrote in the caption: ''This is my work!'' 'That is BRUTAL' But while the pair may have been delighted with the makeover, horrified social media users weren't so convinced by the bold inking. More than 123,000 people gave it a like, as a further 5,118 flooded to comments where many shared their thoughts and tagged their pals. One TikToker was lost for words, writing: ''can't believe what I'm seeing.'' I was on Just Tattoo Of Us in 2019 & got the worst leg tattoos for having streaky fake tan , all I can do now is laugh Another chimed in: ''JESUS is BRUTAL.'' Meanwhile, someone else took a wild guess as to what the client had asked for to end up with the bizarre 'hairdo'. "Lego business man please,'' they joked. Tattoo Do's and Don'ts 1. Think, think and think some more Tattoos done on a whim are far more likely to lead to regret than a tattoo you thought long and hard about. Think about why you want what you've chosen. And if you still want it after a few months, then get it. 2. Age restrictions apply You must be 18 years old to be tattooed in the UK. 3. Don't haggle over the price When you go to a tattoo shop the price is the price. You are paying for an artist's time and skills, they charge what they believe those things are worth. 4. Don't get tattooed while you're hungry Eat before you go for your tattoo session and make sure you're hydrated. You're about to be subjected to a period of sustained physical discomfort, if you're feeling a little weak from hunger or you're dehydrated things will not go as smoothly as they should. 5. Don't drink alcohol before you get tattooed If you are drunk or under the influence of drugs, don't go for a tattoo. In fact, if your tattooist has anything at all about them they will turn you away if you are clearly under the influence of any intoxicating substances. I'd also avoid drinking the night before, even a few drinks will thin your blood and make your bleed more. ''I love the way you blended it with his real hair. He looks really happy,'' a viewer chuckled. ''That should be an offence,'' someone else thought. The Sun previously wrote about a man whose tribute tattoo of his daughter turned out looking like something out of a horror movie. her and her partner's matching tattoo was a bad idea. the rather unfortunate inking.

Bride mercilessly mocked over 'diabolical' wedding day surprise for her husband

Wedding videos usually go viral because of sweet moments between the bride and groom, beautiful details from the decorations, or even funny one-liners during speeches. But for one bride, her surprise choreographed solo-dance for her groom (in front of all of her guests) has taken off for different reasons. TikTok user Alexis Jennings (@alexojennings) recently posted a throwback video of her dance from her wedding three years prior. In overwritten text, she explained: 'That time I performed a dance on my wedding day knowing my religious family would look down on it.' In the caption she wrote, 'Debated doing this for so long that by the time I convinced myself to do it, I only had less than two months to learn the choreography. DO WHAT YOU WANT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY LADIES. My man loved it. 'To further explain, I purposefully wore this covered up outfit and played down the dance moves out of respect for said religious family.' In the video, she's dancing to Beyonce's End of Time while wearing an all-white sweat suit and a black shirt underneath in front of her husband who is mostly out of the shot, but can be seen sitting still watching her. While she is dancing, children run past the stage and some wedding guests can be seen completely ignoring her. Social media users mocked the dance, joking that her husband would be 'googling annulment facts' after the dance But it didn't seem like her 'religious family' at the wedding had much to say about her move - some members even recorded her and looked excited. It was the people in the comments of her TikTok that were quicker to offer judgement. 'He's googling annulment facts as soon as this clip ends,' one user joked. 'I would've been dying of laughter,' another said. 'In broad daylight is diabolical,' another commented, mockingly. Most of the comments under Jennings' video share similar sentiments - but that didn't stop the former bride from clapping back. 'Y'all roasting me is killing me,' she commented. 'The mean comments are only telling me what I already know - you're not gonna hurt my feelings. It's TIKTOK doing its "thang." It's all love.' In fact, she was so unbothered that she posted a second clip of the dance as a response. In this follow-up video, she continued the dance to Beyoncé's Upgrade U. She had similar right-to-left movements, something she chalks up to having to 'improvise' due to forgetting the moves. And though the second video was Jennings' way of telling off haters, they continued to fire off insults in the comments, including: 'Me in 3rd grade at our talent show.' 'How long was this damn dance,' one user asked.

Did Condé Nast shape the world?

In this episode of Americano, Freddy Gray speaks with New York Times writer and debut author Michael Greenbaum about his new book Empire of the Elite, a sweeping history of Condé Nast – the media empire that once dictated American taste, fashion, and celebrity. From Anna Wintour's carefully staged exit to the vanished world of glossy magazine grandeur, Greenbaum charts how the institution that once crowned cultural royalty is struggling to stay relevant in an era of TikTok stars and Substack columnists. On the podcast they explore the rise of celebrity culture, the influence of British identity on Condé's editorial direction, and the complex relationship between Donald Trump and the house that built (and later disowned) him.
