Boston Celtics jersey history No. 29 - Bud Olsen (1968)
To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Celtics Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team.
With 25 of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Celtics to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover.
And for today's article, we will continue with the second of four people to wear the No. 29, Boston forward alum Bud Olsen. After ending his college career at Louisville, Olsen was picked up with the 15th overall selection of the 1962 NBA Draft by the (then) Cincinnati Royals (now, Sacramento Kings).
The Hobart, Indiana native also played for the (then) San Francisco (now, Golden State) Warriors and Seattle SuperSonics before he would be claimed on waivers by Boston in 1968 after being cut by the Sonics. His stay with the team would span just seven games before he would be cut again.
During his time suiting up for the Celtics, Olsen wore only jersey No. 29 and put up 2.0 points and as many rebounds per game.

Knicks are now the betting favorites to land NBA superstar
Knicks fans continue to dream of seeing Giannis Antetokounmpo in orange and blue. And now the oddsmakers say it's increasingly worth betting on. Antetokounmpo is due to make $58 million next season in Milwaukee and has two years plus a player option remaining on his contract. If Antetokounmpo does get traded, the Knicks are now the betting favorites -- although it's unclear what assets New York would be able to deal for him. The odds were initially opened for 29 teams on April 29. At that time, the Nets were 3/1 favorites to land Giannis, followed by Houston (4/1), OKC (5/1), Orlando (7/1) and Golden State (8/1). Since then, the Spurs, Raptors, Rockets and even Celtics were listed as favorites. Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 22 - Maurice McHartley (1968)
The Brooklyn Nets have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the "New Jersey Americans". Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today. To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise's jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 23rd of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 22, which has has had a total of 31 players wear the number in the history of the team. The fourth of those players wearing No. 22 played in the (then) New York (now, Brooklyn) Nets era, guard alum Maurice McHartley. After ending his college career at North Carolina A&T, McHartley was picked up with the 60th overall selection of the 1964 NBA Draft by the (then) St. Louis (now, Atlanta) Hawks. The Detroit, Michigan native spent his first three seasons playing in a competing domestic league instead before signing with the ABA's (defunct) Dallas Chaparrals in 1967. He was dealt to New York in 1968, and played for the team for 24 games before he would be dealt to the (defunct) Miami Floridians that same year. During his time suiting up for the Nets, McHartley wore only jersey No. 22 and put up 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and as many assists per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference.

Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 20 - Tim Legler (1995)
The Golden State Warriors have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the 15th of 29 players who wore the No. 20 jersey for the Warriors. That player would be Golden State guard alum Tim Legler. After ending his college career at La Salle, Legler would go unselected in the 1988 NBA Draft, instead playing in other domestic leagues until he signed with the Phoenix Suns in 1990. The Washington, District of Columbia native also played for the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, and Dallas Mavericks before he signed with Golden State in 1995. His stay with the team would span 24 games for his first of two stints before he would sign with the (then) Washington Bullets (now, Wizards) later that year. He would return to the Dubs for his final season in the NBA in 1999. During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Leglere wore only jersey Nos. 20 and 23 and put up 5.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. All stats and data courtesy of Basketball Reference.
