Malton rescue as two hurt when tree falls on car in Storm Floris
Two people have been seriously injured after a large tree branch fell on their car during Storm pair, who are both in their 80s, were trapped in their vehicle during the accident on Greets House Road, near Malton in North Yorkshire.A local business owner used a telehandler to lift the debris from the Volvo XC40, allowing fire crews to rescue the driver and passenger after the incident at 16:50 BST on man and woman were airlifted to hospital for treatment and the road was closed until 23:45 BST while investigations were carried out, North Yorkshire Police said. Cordon put in place around 'significant' Gainsborough sinkhole
A sinkhole the "size of a football" has opened up in a road in County Council said it attended Ropery Road as an "emergency response" on Evans, from the council's highways department, said the hole was "significant in size" but he was not "overly concerned" about it getting any bigger. An initial survey of the hole showed it was 80cm deep and between 1m and 1.5m wide.
