'Sex and the City's Kristin Davis Claims 'Melrose Place' Actress 'Wouldn't Speak to Me' on Set
Few actors have had as celebrated a career in the TV industry as Kristin Davis.
With a career spanning nearly 40 years, the 60-year-old Davis has appeared in a variety of iconic TV series over the years, including ER, General Hospital, Friends, Seinfeld, Sex and the City and the fan-favorite daytime soap opera, Melrose Place.
Appearing in 32 episodes of the Golden Globe-nominated show, Davis spoke about her time on the series on a recent episode of the Hey Dude... The '90s Called, telling hosts Christine Taylor and David Lascher that it "felt like she won the lottery" when she was cast as ambitious intern Brooke Armstrong.
While Davis appreciated her time on the series, the Sex and the City star also revealed that, at times, the set could feel a bit "intimidating," with one notable cast member refusing to even speak directly to Davis.
"There were just so many so many people [working on Melrose Place]," Davis recalled. "And I felt and I I have obviously seen all these people since then, and and so many of them are so lovely. But at the time ... it was competitive.""I had my friends within like, Marcia Cross and I were were close, which was wonderful," the actress continued. "But there was one [actor], you know, she wouldn't speak to me. Like, she wouldn't speak to me. I never had scenes with her, so it wasn't an issue. But I say, like, 'Good morning,' [and the actress wouldn't respond.]"
While Davis didn't explicitly name the actress in question, she did reveal that she and her former co-star are on far better terms now than they were in the 1990s.
"She's very nice to me now," Davis said of the actress. "And sometimes I'm like, 'Does she remember that she was being not that nice to me?' "

Woman, Who Just Turned 107, Reveals Her Simple Secret to a Long and Happy Life
Mildred Baron, who was born in 1918, credits her positive mindset for seeing her through the Great Depression, World War II and the COVID-19 pandemicNEED TO KNOW New Jersey resident Mildred Baron, who turned 107 in June, is sharing her simple secret to a long and happy life She said it's all about having a positive mindset 'Be very calm, be peaceful and adopt my saying: 'This too shall pass,' ' she explainedFor centenarian Mildred Baron, life is all about having a positive mindset. The Freehold, N.J., resident, who celebrated her 107th birthday in June, is sharing her simple secret to enjoying a long and happy life. "Be very calm, be peaceful and adopt my saying: 'This too shall pass,' ' she told local outlet Asbury Park Press (APP). Baron said that spirit has carried her through many ups and downs across the decades. Born in 1918 to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a toddler when the Prohibition era began in the U.S. She then experienced the World War II, the Great Depression and the COVID-19 pandemic. She recalled watching all of the men she knew get drafted into the war in '40s. 'But as I said, that too, passed,' she noted. Baron also remembered standing in breadlines during the Great Depression and her mother feeding her family of five with a single sack of potatoes. During WWII, Baron found a job in accounting and continued the occupation for 42 years until her retirement. These days, she enjoys a full life that includes eating spicy foods, creating 3D art and attending afternoon cocktail parties with friends. After joking to APP that beer is her drink of choice, Baron quickly changed her answer to ginger ale. "Can't go wrong with that,' she said. Baron also relishes time with family, including her 80-year-old daughter, Bonnie Greenstein, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Greenstein described her mother to APP as "intelligent" and "a talented artist [who] knows what's going on in the world." "She just gets it," Greenstein told the outlet. Shortly before her 100th birthday in 2018, Baron moved into the Applewood Village senior living community, where she is "always the life of the party," according to the residence's executive director, Keith Grady. "She's always been a concerned resident for others, just a real great neighbor to have," he said. As for her hopes for the future, Baron told APP that she would "like to see peace in this world." "All over," she said. "I don't think I'll see it, but hopefully it'll happen someday." Baron is one of 2,367 residents in New Jersey who are 100 years old or older as of 2025, according to World Population Review. She is five years younger than the oldest verified living person in the state, 112-year-old Launa Mitchell of Lakewood, according to LongeviQuest. Today's Wordle #1506 Hints And Answer For Sunday, August 3rd
Looking for Saturday's Wordle hints, clues and answer? You can find them here: How To Solve Today's Wordle Lazy Sunday is here and it's lovely outside. The birds are chirping. The sun is shining. Children play in the street. Up here in the high desert mountains, it's almost time for school to start back up. My tenth grader goes back to school Monday. He is not thrilled by this, and I can't say I am, either. We've been spoiled, sleeping in and staying up late enjoying the lovely summer evenings. Thankfully, school starts an hour later this year so it's a bit less of a shock to the system. But enough about school! Let's educate ourselves with today's Wordle. Wordle is a daily word puzzle game where your goal is to guess a hidden five-letter word in six tries or fewer. After each guess, the game gives feedback to help you get closer to the answer: Use these clues to narrow down your guesses. Every day brings a new word, and everyone around the world is trying to solve the same puzzle. Some Wordlers also play Competitive Wordle against friends, family, the Wordle Bot or even against me, your humble narrator. See rules for Competitive Wordle toward the end of this post. Today's Wordle Hints And Answer Wordle Bot's Starting Word: SLATE My Starting Word Today: CRATE (343 words remaining) The Hint: Not smooth The Clue: This Wordle ends in a 'Y' Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming! . . . Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here. I was shocked every time I guessed today. CRATE is a great opening word most of the time. Today it turned up zero yellow or green boxes and, I later learned, left me with 343 possible solutions. I was surprised that BOINK turned up all grey boxes once again. I still had 45 words remaining (though I didn't know that at the time). I actually said 'Oh wow!' when my third guess, LUMPY, turned up all green boxes. What luck! I mean, it was a very reasonable guess given the circumstances, and I knew I'd turn up at least a 'U' guessing it, but to get the Wordle this way felt almost like a hole in one. Finally, on day three, I get a win, though the Bot remains pretty far in the lead. I get 1 point for guessing in three and 1 for beating the Bot. The Bot gets 0 for guessing in four and -1 for losing to me. Our August total become: Erik: -2 points Wordle Bot: 1 points The word "lumpy" comes from "lump" + the adjective-forming suffix "-y." Thus, "lumpy" has meant "full of lumps" or "having an uneven, bumpy texture" since the late 15th century. WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results As Sami Zayn Triumphs Over Karrion Kross
WWE SummerSlam 2025 marked the biggest match of Karrion Kross' WWE career, a presumed final showdown with longtime nemesis Sami Zayn. Over the past several months, Kross has been the devil on Zayn's shoulder, urging him to go to the dark side until he wrecked Zayn when Zayn refused. The two stars battled in a pair of televised matches on Raw in recent weeks, with Zayn picking up a win and Kross emerging victorious in their most recent battle. So, WWE SummerSlam was the true definition of a rubber match for Kross, one of WWE's best heels, and Zayn, perhaps wrestling's ideal underdog-type babyface. WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results for Karrion Kross vs. Sami Zayn? Although Kross had been pushed more strongly en route to WWE SummerSlam than he'd ever been on the main roster, he never stood a chance in his blowoff match against Zayn. Arguably the most beloved star on Raw, Zayn was finally able to overcome the man who's been a thorn in his side since WrestleMania. Zayn defeated Kross via a Helluva Kick in a short match inside MetLife Stadium. Some of the standout moments of Kross's biggest singles match of his main roster career were: Zayn's emphatic, lightning quick victory at WWE SummerSlam may not bode well for the future of Kross. WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results: What's Next for Karrion Kross and Sami Zayn? Kross's loss at WWE SummerSlam 2025 will raise questions about his long-term future in WWE. According to a recent report from Fightful (h/t SEScoops), 'Kross has been telling people that his current WWE contract is set to expire in August and that no new deal has been signed…Kross had claimed that neither he nor Scarlett had been approached by WWE about a new deal.' The fact that Kross wrestled in such a high-profile match at one of WWE's biggest events has led many to believe that he has, in fact, re-signed with WWE. Of course, Kross has morphed into a cult favorite of sorts among the WWE fan base after a blistering promo after WrestleMania 41 that ultimately resulted in a bigger role on TV. Still, Kross has, for the most part, not been presented as a top star, and this could be a classic case of WWE wanting to get the most it can out of Kross before he walks away. Putting over Zayn on his way out of the company is a logical booking move, but even if Kross is staying, the widespread expectation is that he will have a reduced role moving forward. Kross's below average in-ring work and awkward placement as a heel who's liked by fans really limits WWE's options for him even if does stick around. The same is certainly not true of Zayn, who has been in the midst of one of the best character arcs in WWE. The company has been pushing the fact that Zayn has never been world champion, has associated him with the man who could be the next World champion in Seth Rollins and portrays him as one of WWE's greatest underdogs. The recent trajectory of his character has not-so-subtly hinted at a potential first-ever world title win down the road, so logic says that Zayn will continue to face major obstacles similar to Kross before his redemption begins to come to fruition in late 2025 or early 2026. After Zayn's win at WWE SummerSlam, the adversity will keep on coming until he, well, finally overcomes it.
