It also provides multiple reporting options, data security measures, and both local and remote support. ENDOVEDA is aimed at improving
clinical documentation
and supporting diagnostic accuracy in

Apcob celebrates 62nd Foundation Day
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (Apcob) is a vital institution for the state's rural economy, said Minister for Agriculture, Cooperation, and Marketing, Kinjarapu Atchannaidu. He was speaking at the bank's 62nd Foundation Day celebrations held at the MB Vijnana Kendram here on Monday. The minister extended his greetings to farmers, women's federations, youth, cooperative society members, and bank officials. He highlighted APCOB's crucial role in providing timely loans for seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural needs, thereby supporting the state's farmers. 'The government is fully committed to strengthening the cooperative structure to financially empower every farming household,' he stated. He assured that with technology, cooperative bank services would become more accessible and citizen-friendly. He praised institutions like DCCBs (District Cooperative Central Banks), PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies), and APCOB for serving rural areas that commercial banks often neglect. Minister Atchannaidu noted APCOB's significant role in supporting underprivileged communities. He recalled that before 2014, there was no separate ministry for the cooperative sector at the central level. However, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a dedicated ministry was established, giving the sector national priority. The minister said that in Andhra Pradesh, agriculture and cooperatives are two crucial sectors, and economic support is key to their growth. He noted that APCOB has expanded its services beyond just loans to include providing agricultural inputs, and even running medical stores and petrol stations, which contribute significantly to rural economic infrastructure. The minister also highlighted the success of the DWCRA model, which was introduced under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's leadership and has now become a national example. He said nearly one crore women are engaged in cooperative transactions worth Rs 42,000 crore. However, most of these transactions are currently handled by private banks. The minister assured that plans will be developed to route these transactions through Apcob and its affiliates, which would offer lower interest rates than private banks. He concluded by urging all stakeholders to work together to advance the cooperative sector and expressed hope that Apcob would achieve greater heights in the future. Apcob chairman G Veeranjaneyulu, Special Chief Secretary B. Rajasekhar, RCS Amar Babu, Apcob MD Srinath Reddy, Nabard CGM Gopal, DCCB chairpersons, PACS leaders, and other dignitaries were present.

PGI's new Hospital Information System set for pilot run in November
In 2022, the standing finance committee of the PGIMER approved the replacement of the Hospital Information System (HIS) 1.0 with the HIS 2.0 version. With an increasing patient load — daily OPDs witnessing more than 10,000 patients from across the region — and a high number of referrals, the upgrade has been long overdue. The HIS 2.0 will reduce long queues for registration, paying bills, tracking test reports, and obtaining appointments, among other benefits. Now, the stage is set for the pilot run of the much-awaited project in November, which aims to transform patient care and reduce patient waiting times. 'We have been working towards the software upgrade project and are aiming at a pilot run in November,' shares Pankaj Rai, deputy director, Administration, PGIMER. For around 20 years, the institute has been using the HIS 1.0 for records, data entry, registration, and software updates. The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) had already submitted a proposal for the upgraded software project that would include new features, like a mobile app for accessing hospital services, QR code systems for registration by scanning instead of standing in long queues, and an app to access hospital services. The priority is to reduce rush, so apart from patient registration and demographics, appointments in different time slots to ease rush during peak hours are vital. Also, the new system will help in scheduling appointments, storing information of patients digitally, and also billing, saving the patients from going to various counters to pay bills and do financial transactions. Professor Sameer Aggarwal from the PGIMER's Department of Orthopaedics, who is also the vice-president of the Post Graduate Institute Faculty Association Committee, says that the HIS 2.0 will be a 'game-changer' for the institute, for it will be a two-way communication between patients and doctors, as with the click of a button and the card number, a doctor can access all health records of a patient, with reports, X-rays all accessible. Instead of seeing X-rays, scans, and medical reports on WhatsApp, which lacks clarity, the software will help doctors view these on their computers, and e-files and records will help research, Aggarwal added. At the Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, patients who register online in advance for the outpatient department (OPD) are given priority. Booking online appointments helps in queue management, decongesting the OPD in the morning hours, and streamlining the process of registration. With the success of the first-time patients using the system, which enables one to make an appointment seven days in advance, the department is now all set to introduce a QR code for ease of registration for appointments. The HIS 2.0 will help patients register wherever they are, and with a deposit of Rs 10, a card number will be generated. A printout will be proof of registration, and the patient does not have to go to the counter and be in a queue for the same. The institute, after the pilot run, strives to implement the HIS 2.0 early in the new year, to benefit both patients and the institute's overburdened system.

Govt stands by farmers with Rs 183 crore support in Kurnool: Collector
Kurnool: Ina significant move to support the farming community, Kurnool District Collector P Ranjith Basha announced that a total of Rs 183 crore has been credited to the accounts of 2,73,452 eligible farmers under the 'Annadata Sukhibhava–PM Kisan' scheme. He was speaking at the launch of the first installment disbursal programme for the year 2025–26 held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Banavasi, Yemmiganur mandal on Saturday. He informed that under the scheme, a financial aid of Rs 20,000 will be given to each farmer family in three installments, and Rs 7,000 has been released in the first phase. He stated that 2.7 lakh acres are under cultivation in the district, and over 9,200 quintals of seeds and fertilizers have been distributed. Urea continues to be in demand, and it is being supplied across Rythu Bharosa Kendras and PACS. He emphasized the need for farmers to shift towards organic and nano fertilizers, highlighting the health risks associated with chemical inputs and the goal to expand natural farming across 1.32 lakh acres. He urged farmers to adopt modern technologies like drones to reduce costs and generate employment. So far, 35 farmers have been sanctioned drones in the district. He also stressed the importance of e-KYC for availing crop subsidies and insurance. The widening of HNSS Canal to 3,500 cusecs and filling of 68 tanks has improved irrigation, and water release from the Gajuladinne Project continues this year. Later, a symbolic mega cheque and seed kits were distributed to farmers. The event was attended by Adoni Sub-Collector Maurya Bharadwaj, Yemmiganur Market Chairman Mallayya, Agriculture Officer Varalakshmi, and other officials.
