Brighton and Hove is known for its bustling seaside promenade, cobbled beach fronts, nightlife and, of course, having many pubs.
The data revealed that the coastal city has an impressive 147 pubs per 100,000 people.
In total, that's 205 pubs serving its 139,001 residents.
With so many to choose from, we've found some of the best.
The Station Inn
On Tripadvisor, The Station Inn is one of the top-rated boozers.
The Station Inn describes itself as being a "traditional British pub" where you can enjoy a drink, play a game of pool or watch a game of football on the big screen.
One visitor wrote: "The Station is everything you want in a local pub — warm, welcoming, and full of character. The staff are friendly, the beer selection is excellent, and the food hits the spot every time."
Another added: "Lovely atmosphere, fantastic staff, we love coming to the Station- we feel like part of the family."
On the menu you'll find juicy burgers, steak and ale pie, fish and chips and a selection of roast dinners on a Sunday.

This pub has one very unique thing about it, and that's while inside, guests can enjoy a lantern-lite drink in a cave.
For any people in a group who want to make sure they're seated in one of the cave booths, you can book these in advance.
There's an outside area too and the pub is right on the seafront, with a sea-facing terrace, wooden tables and strings of fairy lights.
Throughout the years are events like DJ sets, which run on most Saturdays.

The Roundhill
The Roundhill is Brighton's very first vegan gastropub.
It has a plant-based menu with weekly specials and they do Sunday roast dinners too.
The pub scooped up the "Best Roast" in 2020 and has been nominated in multiple categories for the 2025 BRAVOs, including "Most Sustainable," "Plant Champions," and "Best Sunday Roast".
One visitor wrote on Tripadvisor: The Roundhill consistently serve an incredible Sunday roast. I can honestly say it's the best roast I've personally ever had, and my non-vegan partner would agree."

Hove Place
Hove Place has one big difference to other pubs around - that's the secret and beautiful Italian-inspired garden.
With a glass of wine in hand and sitting out in the sunshine, you'll feel like you're in the Mediterranean.
The pub that's known for its alfresco dining serves modern pub classics, as well as fresh focaccia rolls for lunch and deli boards which are very popular.
As for drinks, you can pick up cask ales, beers, ciders and wines as well as some draught lagers like Birra Moretti and Estrella.
When it first opened, the pub was shortlisted in the same awards as Best Newcomer in the Great British Pub Awards.

The Cricketers Inn
The Cricketers Inn is the definition of a classic pub, it's full of charm, history and is the oldest pubs in Brighton.
You'll find the bright white pub in the thick of Brighton's Lanes, this venue attracts a real mix of people and inside is what's described as a "warren of rooms."
As for the interior, think thick red carpets, velvet stools, black walls and dim lighting.
The pub has an internal courtyard too with larger tables, but when it's sunny, you'll want to make most of the good weather by taking a seat outside.
The Cricketers Inn is possibly the oldest pub in Brighton having been around since 1547.
While it might not be a pub, I recently visited the trendy beach bar of Rockwater in Hove with some of the best views around.
Check out some of the best pubs, fish and chip shops and cafes in Sussex, named by holidaymakers and locals.

Spain holiday hotspot swarmed by invasion of horseshoe snakes
The island sees more than 2.3 million British visitors annually and has experienced a dramatic surge in non-native snake populations A popular Spanish holiday hotspot has reportedly been invaded by so many serpents that wildlife specialists are calling for "thousands and thousands of traps". Mallorca, which welcomes over 2.3 million British tourists each year, alongside the wider Balearic islands, has witnessed a dramatic explosion in non-native snake numbers. The horseshoe snake, one particular breed, could pose significant dangers to the local ecosystem. While this reptile can flourish in diverse environments, it commonly dwells in forests, agricultural zones, and built-up areas across southwestern Europe. COFIB, Mallorca's wildlife rescue and sanctuary organisation, reportedly captured nearly 3,000 horseshoe snakes throughout 2023 alone. Despite these measures, the invasive breed continues to endanger the area's environmental balance. Samuel Pinya, a biologist from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), told Spanish publication Diario AS: "We need thousands and thousands of traps to reduce the population." He continued: "The horseshoe snake has swum in, and when it arrives, it eats everything." Nicolau Cerdà, from the Association of Organic Farmers and Producers of Mallorca (APAEMA), explained: "These snakes are beneficial for farmland on the mainland, but on an island like Mallorca, with no predators at all, they become voracious and hunt all wildlife. "They have no competitors and cause imbalances in nature. They've almost wiped out the lizard, and all small fauna, such as geckos, amphibians or small birds like chicks, sparrows or partridges, they wipe them out." What if a tourist is bitten by a horseshoe snake? While local authorities are concerned about the impact of the snake on the native ecosystem, they pose little danger to people in the area. This is because the species is non-venomous, meaning a bite should not pose a serious threat to life. However, if holidaymakers encounter a horseshoe snake while visiting Mallorca, they should keep a safe distance as it can still deliver a painful bite when threatened. It might also be prudent to alert local authorities, as community efforts to control the population of horseshoe snakes continue. How to identify a horseshoe snake Mallorca is home to several types of snakes, making it difficult to immediately identify which one might need to be reported to officials. However, the horseshoe snake typically stands out from other snakes due to its larger size, which can reach up to 170cm in length. The head is also flat and pointed, distinguishing it from the rest of the body. Its name can also help with identification as the species usually has an open horseshoe-shaped marking, along with a particularly long and slender tail. Typically, the horseshoe snake's scales are of an olive-brown hue and often bear dark circular markings against a white or yellow belly.

Should the Prime Minister take a summer holiday?
Silly season is upon us, as MPs jet off on holiday (or back to their constituencies) to get a well-needed break from Westminster. Sir Keir Starmer had to cancel his summer holiday last year after riots broke out across the country – but hopefully this year the Prime Minister will manage to enjoy some time to recharge before party conference season hits. But on whether the PM should be taking any downtime at all is a contentious subject among the public. Mr S has got hold of some new polling that shows just how much time off – and where – Brits believe Starmer should be allowed… According to Ipsos polling that surveyed 1,144 British adults between 11-14 July, just over four in ten adults think the PM should take about the same amount of holiday as the average UK worker, while a third believe Starmer should take less. 5 per cent of Brits think the top job should be completely full time, with the Prime Minister not able to take any holiday at all – a view shared by 7 per cent of Reform UK voters. Bad luck, Keir! A third of people want the PM to holiday right here in Blighty. And while around one in two think that it is important that Starmer gets some rest, three-quarters of Brits aren't that bothered about whether Sir Keir gets to choose his destination. And, after all that, even if the country's leader finds himself in a location not of his choosing somewhere in the British Isles, the vast majority of Brits (78 per cent) want him to keep his phone on him at all times. No rest for the wicked, eh?

'Best Airbnb in England' located on private lake has 'one important factor'
After a two-night stay, solo traveller, Ben Murphy believes he may have stumbled upon the 'best Airbnb in England', which offers unique private lake views and is 'super cosy' If you're looking to go on a 'staycation' this year, one British holidaymaker believes he discovered arguably "the best in England" owing to its stunning views and facilities. Ben Murphy, who is a hotel consultant and specialising in short-term rental accommodation, took to TikTok to detail the property. "Welcome to the Island Lodge," he began in a video as he arrived for his own stay. "It's set on a private lake in the Cotswolds, just out Cirencester and it's an incredibly unique property and exactly what I was looking for." Ben proceeded to showcase the home's interior, decked out with grey and yellow furnishings. It was the Airbnb's exterior that was of particular interest to Ben, however, who revealed it boasts three outdoor decks which are "great for relaxing on" as well as sun-loungers and a table and chairs overlooking the water while you eat. Elsewhere on the decking is a hot tub, something Ben described as a "nice touch" where he relaxed lakeside. Back inside, he continued: "It's a fully equipped kitchen with all the pots and pans and bits and bobs. And there's a working log fire that's 'super cosy'." Ben headed upstairs to the bedroom, again overlooking the lake where he added: "Views of the water from three sides offers lots of natural light." Following his first of two nights, he went for a swim in the lake in the morning. "Because, why not? You're staying on a lake after all," he joked. Ben closed by revealing the "most important" aspect of the Airbnb. "Peace and quiet," he praised. "I fully enjoyed my two nights here and I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful UK stay." Writing in response, one TikTok user who has stayed at Island Lodge himself, hailed: "Was the best place I've stayed in a while. Lots to do about." A second added: "This looks so wholesome and amazing." While a third person agreed: "Island Lodge looks divine." Marketed on Cotswold Water Park Retreats, the property is described as: "Tucked away on a quiet stretch of Little Horseshoe Lake, Island is a sleek, glass-fronted stay with its own hot tub, kayaks and multiple sun-drenched decks." The site adds: "Perfect for couples or solo escapes, this lodge gives you space to fully switch off – with trails to wander, wild water to swim in, and not a neighbour in sight." The Airbnb also benefits from Underfloor heating throughout, fishing opportunities and "sunsets that deserve your attention" over the "crystal-clear" water. "Just you, the water, and that exhale you didn't know you needed," the description closes.
