Actor Anupam Kher expressed sadness over the Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon. Kher shared a video in Hindi on his Instagram account, saying the plane crash is not just news but a mountain of sadness that has broken so many homes. Actor Priyanka Chopra also shared her condolences on Instagram.The veteran actor expressed that the plane was "not just a machine but a moving hope in which our loved ones were sitting". "Someone was from India, someone from abroad. Someone was someone's mother. Someone was returning to their son. Someone was on the way to work. Someone was going home after a holiday. But no one knew that this journey would become their last journey," Anupam said in the video.advertisementExtending his condolences to the affected families, the actor said neither the language nor the logic is of any use at this time. He added that the whole of humanity is with them and the country salutes every family that has been affected.

Several celebrities have shared their condolences on social media in the aftermath of the tragic accident.The ill-fated flight was bound for London and crashed moments after taking off from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft crashed into a government hospital hostel in Meghaninagar. The crash claimed 265 lives, including former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani.Only one passenger managed to survive out of the 242 people on the plane. He was later identified as Vishwaskumar Ramesh, seated in a passenger seat 11A. The passenger is currently receiving treatment in Ahmedabad.
