Music legend plays secret set at Yorkshire pub ahead of huge arena shows
The vocalist, 48, dropped into The Puzzle Hall Inn in Sowerby Bridge last night to play some of the band's biggest songs in front of a tiny crowd.
In footage from the show, the Fix You singer joked with the crowd: 'Normally I have a crew of 250 people.'
After being heckled, he teased: 'The last time I got booed was in Romania by 60,000 people… so you're nothing.'
As well as singing songs from his own back catalogue, Chris also sang a rendition of Whitney Houston's I Want To Dance With Somebody.

'Thank you for letting me play at The Puzzle Inn. Normally I rehearse on my own, you see, so it's nice to have some company,' he said (per Halifax Courier).
'I spoke with this guy earlier, so I'm going to do one of his songs,' he said, referring to Sir Elton John, before singing Rocket Man. 'What do you think the chances are we could keep this a secret between us? A 93% chance?'
He continued: 'I want to sincerely say thank you so much for letting me play in your garden, and on Monday in Hull I'll be thinking of you all and how kind you've been to a southerner. I'm very grateful.'
Their string of UK arena shows will hopefully be a quieter run than their US tour after Chris went viral for exposing the Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR manager Kristin Cabot's affair at one of their gigs.
The pair were caught embracing on a Jumbotron at a Coldplay concert in Boston, before abruptly trying to hide.
The clip, in which Chris Martin can be heard jokingly questioning whether they're having an affair, was shared online and quickly went viral.
Both Byron and Cabot have since resigned from Astonomer in the fallout, which has seen plenty of memes and recreations of the moment swirling online. More Trending
The clip was filmed by Grace Springer, 28, from New Jersey, who stood by her decision to share it online.
She told The US Sun: 'I had no idea who the couple was. Just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it.
'A part of me feels bad for turning these people's lives upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes.
'I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their future still in front of them.'

The star shocked fans when he appeared on the long-running Channel 4 dating show, First Dates. He was greeted by Fred Sirieix as he was matched with a 42-year-old cruise brand manager, Chris. Players have had the chance to experience the highly anticipated games' multiplayer mode ahead of launch. Having first opened last weekend, the beta has returned for a second week with an extra map and even more modes to experience. The game was revealed back in July and is set to arrive later in the year. What time does the Battlefield 6 beta start and end? Battlefield 6's Empire State map is in the second open beta | EA/ Battlefield The first weekend of the first person shooter's open beta finished at 9am British time on Monday (11 August). Players had from 9am on Saturday (August 9) until Monday - after an early access ran prior to that. If you missed out on trying the game out over the weekend, don't worry because there will be a second chance. Battlefield 6's open beta will return for week 2 on Thursday (August 14). Battlefield 6 is holding an open beta | EA/ Battlefield During the first weekend of the open beta, players had access to three maps. EA will be adding one extra one for week two in the form of Empire State - based on New York City. The publisher explains: 'Take unprecedented control of your environment by moving, scaling, and duplicating objects. Create your own gamemode and custom UI.
