Glastonbury 2025 lineup revealed with headliners Olivia Rodrigo, The 1975 and Neil Young
The Glastonbury 2025 lineup has been announced, revealing that British rock band The 1975 and US pop star Olivia Rodrigo will join Neil Young as the festival's three headliners.
Other acts on the lineup include Brit Award and Grammy-winning star Charli XCX, singer RAYE, Grammy-winning rapper Doechii, British hip-hop artist Loyle Carner, Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro and rapper Busta Rhymes.
It was announced last year that Rod Stewart will take on the Sunday teatime Legends Slot on the Pyramid Stage.
Organisers seem intent on offering festival-goers a mix of both established and new talent, from Nineties-formed electronic pioneers The Prodigy, Canadian artist Alanis Morissette and rock band The Libertines to 'Messy' star Lola Young, US pop singer Gracie Abrams, and viral star Shaboozey, whose single 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' has been a near-permanent fixture on TikTok since its release.
Among the returning festival favourites include Mercury Prize-winning rock band Wolf Alice, indie duo Wet Leg, Fatboy Slim and Scissor Sisters.
The 1975, led by frontman Matty Healy, will top the Friday billing on the Pyramid Stage, marking their debut as headliners. They are Glastonbury veterans, having performed at the Worthy Farm bonanza three times, including in 2014 and 2016.
Veteran artist Young's headline slot on the Saturday was accidentally announced on 1 January, when he abruptly announced that he was withdrawing from this year's festival due to his belief that it was under the 'corporate control' of the BBC.
Just two days later, he said that he had received an 'error in information' and that the festival was 'back on our itinerary'. He previously headlined Glastonbury in 2009.
Rodrigo proved herself to be a favourite among Glastonbury-goers back in 2022, when she appeared on the Other Stage and brought out British singer Lily Allen to sing her song 'F*** You' in response to the US Supreme Court ruling over Roe v Wade.
The 22-year-old will headline Sunday night on the Pyramid Stage and become the second-youngest headliner in Glastonbury history, after fellow pop star Billie Eilish who topped the bill in 2022, aged 20.
Rodrigo is also headlining British Summer Time festival in London's Hyde Park, two days before she heads to Worthy Farm.
Pop-soul artist RAYE looks set to enjoy another huge year as she returns from performing at the 2025 Academy Awards, and will now play on the Pyramid Stage before Young's set.
The 27-year-old swept the Brit Awards last year thanks to her debut album, My 21st Century Blues, which she delivered as an independent artist after walking away from her record label, following a battle over their apparent refusal to let her release her own music.
Meanwhile, trend-setting artist Charli XCX looks set to enjoy another Brat summer, as she will headline the Other Stage on Saturday, one year after her DJ set managed to rival Dua Lipa's headline slot.
Further acts are due to be announced in the coming months, with 2024 breakout stars Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter among the rumoured additions.
The 1975 frontman Healy is known as one of UK music's most divisive figures, and appeared to be called out at Glastonbury in 2023 by his label mate Rina Sawayama over a number of controversial comments he made during a podcast episode.
The band are currently being sued by the organisers of a festival in Malaysia, which was shut down after Healy kissed one of his bandmates, bassist Ross MacDonald, onstage at the Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur in 2023. Healy said he was protesting the country's anti-LGBT laws.
The festival's annual resale, which gives music fans one final chance to get their hands on tickets ahead of June, is also expected to take place in spring, having been held last year in April.
Glastonbury 2025 takes place from 25 to 29 June, and will mark the last festival before its traditional fallow year, which gives the farmland and its workers a chance to rest.

King remember victims of Air India plane disaster at Trooping the Colour
The King has celebrated his official birthday with an eco-friendly flypast by the Red Arrows and remembered all those killed in the Air India plane disaster. Trooping the Colour was a display of military pomp and pageantry but Charles asked for the traditional programme to include a minute's silence, and for senior royals and officers taking part to wear black armbands as a mark of respect. When the royal family gathered later on Buckingham Palace's balcony they acknowledged the crowds and watched an aerial display of vintage and modern aircraft with the Red Arrows' finale powered by a blend of sustainable aviation fuel. The world-famous aerobatic team also used vegetable oil to produce their trademark red, white and blue vapour trails over the royal residence – believed to be a first. Trooping, also known as the King's Birthday Parade, fell silent after Charles had inspected hundreds of troops on Whitehall's Horse Guards Parade from a carriage with the Queen by his side. The moment of reflection acknowledged the aviation disaster on Thursday that killed 241 passengers and crew, including more than 50 British nationals, and around 30 people on the ground. Charles led the royal colonels in wearing black armbands, with the Prince of Wales, Colonel of the Welsh Guards, Princess Royal, Colonel Blues and Royals, and the Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel Scots Guards, all wearing bands on their left arms. Young royals delighted monarchy fans by making an appearance, with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis riding in a carriage with their mother Kate. Lieutenant Max Martin, 24, who carried the regimental flag at the heart of the ceremony, said: 'The King's Colour emphasises and symbolises everything that has ever gone before in the Coldstream Guards. 'The gold embroidered silk of the flag is physically heavy, especially in the flourish, but the symbolic weight is heavier still. 'It bears 44 of our 113 battle honours: the achievements and sacrifices of countless generations of our forebears.' Thousands lined the royal procession route from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade where Trooping was staged. A group of activists from the anti-monarchy group Republic staged a 'not my King' protest. During the fly-past Louis, who was dressed in an identical red tie and suit outfit as older brother George, was seen chatting to his father, William, and waving to the crowds. The sustainable display be the Red Arrows is in keeping with Charles decades long support for sustainability and climate action. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said the King was not involved in the decision but was 'delighted' because he has been encouraging use of the fuel on royal flights where practical and hopes the example will lead to wider use across the aviation sector.

Victoria took to Instagram to share a lovely message about David, alongside a sweet photo of her kissing his cheek, in the caption she penned: "You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! "What an honour, I couldn't be prouder of you. Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered.
