Ministry supports initiatives aimed at helping the disabled

The meeting discussed enhancing partnerships between the ministry, the college, and the UN office in areas related to social development and collaborative projects. Discussions also touched on the Ministry's sponsorship of the Second International Technology Conference and Forum for People with Special Needs, which aims to leverage innovation in support of accessibility and empowerment.
Dr Al-Huwailah added that the parties also explored potential coordination on the sidelines of the upcoming 11th Ministerial Conference of the Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs and Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), scheduled to take place in Kuwait in September. She reiterated the ministry's commitment to fostering joint action that advances the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities and supports broader regional development goals. — KUNA

KUNA : Kuwait welcomes Australia, New Zealand plan to recognize Palestine
11/08/2025 LOC20:41 17:41 GMT KUWAIT, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday welcomed Australia's decision to officially recognize State of Palestine, and New Zealand's intention to follow suit. In a press statement, the ministry said the State of Kuwait commends such steps that would contribute to supporting relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative for empowering the Palestinian people to have self-determination and an independent Palestinian state on the 1867 border with East Jerusalem as its capital. Kuwait Fund looks into progress on Lebanon projects amid visit
By Fawaz Al-Otaibi BEIRUT, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's (KFAED) visit to Lebanon aims to follow up on the progress of development projects it is financing there, its acting chief said on Monday. These development projects are highly instrumental in keeping Lebanon's economy on an upward trajectory, Waleed Al-Bahar told KUNA amid a visit to the Lebanese capital Beirut, citing the improvement of infrastructure and basic services as the core goal the KFAED-funded projects. The KFAED acting chief went on to say that he intends on meeting a number of top Lebanese officials in a bid to bolster bilateral economic cooperation, subsequently serving the "best interests" of Kuwait and Beirut, he underlined. On talks with the visiting KFAED acting chief, Lebanon's Finance Minister Yassine Jaber spoke of the need to salvage some development projects that may have been hampered by long-standing civil unrest in Lebanon, hoping that some key projects funded by the Kuwait-based fund would come to fruition shortly.
