Pirates of the Caribbean and Leatherface actor Bob Elmore dies aged 65
The stuntman and actor, who also appeared uncredited as Leatherface in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, had his death announced publicly by co-star Caroline Williams.
Posting on Instagram this week, she wrote: 'My dear Bob Elmore has passed…'
Williams later followed up with a photo of her and Elmore together at fan event Crypticon Minnesota.
Elmore played the Executioner in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End after appearing as a stunt performer in the original, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003.
His extensive Hollywood resume also included playing Bodyguard #1 in The Usual Suspects, as well as his stunt work in the likes of Uncle Buck, Casino, City of Angels and Bring John Malkovich.
Horror Realm Convention also paid tribute to the performer, writing on Facebook: 'Awful news coming out that Bob Elmore has passed away. We were fortunate to have him as a guest at Horror Realm a few years back.' More Trending
The statement continued: 'He was actually booked for 2026 but we have not announced any guests yet. We are sorry we won't have a chance to be with him one more time. Our condolences to Bob's family.'
Home of Horror, a Texas-based horror fan hub posted to its 111,000 page followers: 'We're saddened to learn that Bob Elmore has passed away.
'Horror fans will always remember him for his role as one of the performers behind Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
'A skilled stuntman and true professional, Bob brought power and precision to the character during its most physical and dangerous moments.'

Kelly Osbourne has spoken out for the first time since her father Ozzy Osbourne's death in an emotional message. Calvin Haris and Vick Hope welcome first baby and reveal powerful name
Calvin Harris and Vick Hope have shared the happy news of the birth of their first child. The couple posted a series of photos with their baby boy, named Micah, on Instagram, including some graphic images from the water birth itself, such as Vick's placenta. '20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah,' Calvin wrote in the caption to his post. The name Micah has Hebrew origins and translates to 'who is like God?'. Netflix viewers 'can't wait' for new thriller thanks to actor stepping into lead role
The film adaptation is based on author Ruth Ware's best-selling thriller novel of the same name. It was first published in 2016 and sees a woman board a luxury yacht where she witnesses a murder Netflix viewers are excited to tune in for a new thriller set to drop this autumn, all thanks to the star power of Keira Knightley. The 40-year-old actor boasts a stellar track record, including her Oscar-nominated turn in 2005's Pride and Prejudice, her swashbuckling role in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, and her most recent appearance in 2024's Black Doves. The celebrated performer takes centre stage in the screen adaptation of The Woman in Cabin 10, drawn from Ruth Ware's best-selling 2016 novel. It's scheduled to land on Netflix on October 10, sending excitement soaring among both Knightley devotees and book enthusiasts. The story follows travel writer Lo Blacklock, who receives an invitation to board an opulent yacht for its maiden journey. Though the voyage begins in picture-perfect tranquillity, Lo is horrified when she witnesses a fellow passenger being hurled into the ocean during the dead of night. However, when she raises the alarm, she's dismissed and told she must have dreamt the entire incident, as every traveller is present and accounted for. With no one officially reported missing, Lo embarks on a perilous mission to uncover the truth. Author Ruth Ware explained to Tudum: "Cabin 10, at its heart, is about a woman who experiences something wrong, reports it truthfully, and isn't taken seriously because of who she is. "Too many people know what that feels like and I think we want vindication for ourselves as much as Lo." The novel was released nearly ten years ago, but the author maintains its significance remains timeless because "the fear of not being believed is perennial, unfortunately". When Netflix announced the film adaptation's launch date on social media, many rushed to the comments to express their excitement, with both the streaming giant and cinema aficionados thrilled to witness Keira Knightley taking on another starring part. In the caption alongside the announcement, Netflix wrote: "You had me at 'Keira Knightley'. The Woman In Cabin 10 arrives 10 October". One admirer wrote: "I can't wait" while another declared: "I'm SOLD!" A third said: "October 10 can't come quick enough" while a fourth agreed: "Can't wait! Love this book". Someone else commented: "Anything with Keira [bring] it on". Another mentioned Keira's co-star Kaya Scodelario, known for Skins and The Maze Runner series, with equal enthusiasm: "I hear [Kaya Scodelario] is in it, that's me sold".
