OFFICIAL: Orlando Pirates bid for Limpopo midfielder!
Orlando Pirates have reportedly negotiating a three-year deal for Gallants' Masindi Nemtajela.
The composed midfielder has amassed fourteen league appearances this campaign, including a masterful 90-minute cameo against Orlando Pirates on January 3. The Limpopo-outfit handed the Soweto giants their first defeat of 2025, winning 2-0 at home.
The latest reports coming out of Mayfair suggest several players to be used as bargaining chips for fresh talent; and that relates to Orlando Pirates' pursuit of Nemtajela.
'As the club is looking at releasing other players, these players are apparently part of the potential deal between Pirates and Gallants,' a source revealed.
'At the moment I can't say which of those players are, but discussions are ongoing and things could be finalised at the end of the season.'
An additional source reaffirmed the Buccaneers interest up North, saying, 'It's believed that now the club has offered him a three-year deal,' SoccerLaduma confirmed.
'They are looking at improving the squad mainly in the midfield because they will be apparently looking at releasing some of the current midfielders so Masindi is one of those players hence the three-year contract they have offered him.'
Orlando Pirates have become synonymous with academy talents – Relebohile Mofokeng and Mbekezeli Mbokazi are the current ambassadors taking the league by storm.
The Soweto giants' latest acquisiotion is youngster Yanga Madiba, who will likely be tested throughout next season.
'They have already made that decision. For now, it's as good as done, and it's believed to be a three-year contract which would apparently run from July this year until June 2028,' a Soccer Laduma report read.
'He is still young, and they want him to grow and gain experience while learning from the older players.'

Not that coach Hugo Broos would have complained, the victory, better than what transpired at the same venue on Friday when Bafana drew goalless against Tanzania. South Africa's men's senior national team should have won the match by a much bigger margin such was their domination and numerous chances they created. SINOXOLO Kwayiba and Ashley Cupido scored second half goals that helped Bafana Bafana beat Mozambique 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday night. His goal came three minutes after the break as he headed in a corner kick by Mohauu Nkota. Kwayiba could have scored a hat-trick actually as he incredulously side footed the ball way off target when Oswin Appolis set him up on 86 minutes. He'd also missed another on 21 minutes. Ashley Cupido made it 2-0 with his first goal for Bafana after ten appearances by just lobbing the ball into the open net after the Mozambique defence had given the ball away on the left side of their box. Nkota was again responsible for the assist. The match could well have been over as a contest by half time, such was the domination Bafana enjoyed and their ability to pierce the Mambas' defence open. The hosts had no less than seven shots on target at the break but they found Ivanne Urrubal in an uncompromising mood, the Mozambique goalkeeper playing a blinder. Relebohile Mofokeng could easily have had a first half hat-trick had it not been for the brilliance of the number one who plays his club football for Sombo in Mozambique. The Orlando Pirates star was in imperious form as he hovered around the top of the box, switching flanks and varying his attempts at goal – shooting from range, trying to dribble his way past defenders and getting into good position to receive passes. He had his initial chance on 17 minutes when he made a fantastic break to receive a through ball and watched in disbelief as Urrubal used his outstretched leg to block his low shot that was headed in. Later on the Mambas keeper stopped Mofokeng's shot from range but the young South African did not give up. Late in the half, he tested the keeper with a sweetly-struck high shot but Urrubbal was equal to the task, showing his agility to fling himself up and punch the ball away. There were chances for Kwayiba and Nkota on ten and 21 minutes respectively but Urrubal was uncompromising, ensuring the scores were level when the referee blew his whistle for the break Yet there was no way just one man was going to withstand such relentless pressure as what the goalkeeper endured and it was just a matter of time before Mozambique were breached. And it took just three minutes after the break for the resistance to crumble, Kwayiba heading in Nkota's corner almost unchallenged. The Pirates man could have made it 2-0 on 54 minutes but Urrubal again came to the Mambas' rescue with a good save pushing away Nkota's left-footed piledriver after he'd cut in from the right. Mozambique had one chance late on but Ricardo Leaner pulled off a fantastic save as Bafana left Broos smiling from ear to ear, confident that he now has a much larger pool of players to pick his squad from.

A whole new Bafana As expected, Hugo Broos changed his entire eleven for the clash with the Mambas, Mbekezeli Mbokazi making his debut in central defence alongside captain and Pirates teammate Nkosinathi Sibisi. Left back Samukele Kabini and striker Yanele Mbuthuma also made their first senior international stats. Bafana threatened more in attack in the first 45 minutes against Mozambique than they had in the entire game against Tanzania. The opening period, indeed, was basically a case of South Africa versus Mozambican goalkeeper Ivan Urrubal. In the early stages, Mohau Nkota fired in a shot that was parried by Urrubal. The Mamba's goalkeeper then produced an even better save to deny Relebohile Mofokeng. Mofokeng broke clean through on goal soon after but Urrubal stopped his effort at close range. Urrubal also kept out Kwayiba and Nkota in quick succession, in a performance that must have caught the attention of some Premier Soccer League sides' Nkota was causing no end of problems to Mozambique in his first Bafana start, after coming off the bench against Tanzania. The Pirates winger spun on the edge of the box and let fly with a shot that flew inches over the bar. Five minutes before the break, the excellent Mofokeng again tested Urrubal, his rocket from just outside the area, tipped wide by the Mozambican 'keeper. Kwayiba comes up trumps If Bafana went in at half time wondering how on earth they were not in front, it took Broos' men inside two minutes of the second half to take the lead. Nkota's far post corner was powerfully headed past Urrubal by Kwayiba. In the 55th minute, Nkota cut in from the right and unleashed another piledriver, which was tipped away by Urrubal. ALSO READ: Bafana's Sibisi vows to help Pirates teammate Cupido came off the bench to replace Mbuthuma and netted within three minutes. A horrendous mistake at the back handed possession to Nkota and he laid the ball off for the Stellenbosch striker to thunder past Urrubal and into the top corner of the net.
