Grave warning for women lured to grim Dubai 'Porta-Potty' parties with £3k gifts
Dubai is renowned for its soaring skyscrapers, upscale malls, and the jet-set lifestyle often flaunted by influencers. But behind the city's glossy image is a deeply troubling undercurrent - a rising trend of exploitative gatherings known as "Porta-Potty" parties.
These events, allegedly orchestrated by wealthy men, target young models and social media influencers with promises of large sums of money, designer gifts, and luxury hotel stays. However, the reality behind the opulence is far more sinister, involving reports of extreme sexual humiliation, physical abuse, and serious legal risks for those involved.
Shockingly, the women involved in these parties could even find themselves prosecuted. Radha Stirling, CEO of Detained in Dubai, has warned that women involved in these parties - even against their will - could face charges of adultery or indecency, especially if married men are present.
"Sex outside marriage has been legalised in Dubai, but organisers have exploited this. Women think they're attending a private party - instead, they're thrown into horrific, dangerous situations with real legal risk," Stirling said.
Concern around the issue was recently reignited when an influencer shared on TikTok that a stranger she met at the gym had showered her with expensive gifts - raising questions about the true cost of such apparent generosity.
Jade, who goes by @outplayedbyjade online, is originally from France but travelled to Dubai as she documented her trip online. In her video, she explained how she had been leaving the gym when workers approached her with a gift from someone she had met on the treadmill.
"I didn't think much of it," she explained in the video. A worker handed her a bouquet of flowers and chocolate from the man she had struck up a conversation with.
Flattered, she texted the number he had left with the gift to thank him, after which she then received a call from a shop assistant at the luxury jewellery designer store Van Cleef & Arpels.
"I'm a very curious girl, so I make my way over to the shop," she explained. "This assistant pulls out a beautiful bracelet and a matching necklace." All together, the gifts were worth around £3,000.
And while Jade was over the moon with her gifts, fans were quick to warn the influencer that the man was a "professional" and to "be careful" amid reports of men recruiting women for "Porta-Parties" in Dubai.
One such victim is Maria Kovalchuk, a 20-year-old Ukrainian adult model, who was reportedly left for dead after attending one of these parties. Maria vanished after telling her mother she'd been invited to stay overnight with two men claiming to be modelling agents. She never made her flight to Thailand.
Ten days later, on March 19, she was found dumped at the roadside in Dubai, suffering from a shattered spine, broken limbs, and severe internal injuries. Maria has undergone multiple surgeries, and her family, now at her bedside, are desperate for answers. It's thought she is still recovering from her injuries.
Dubai Police confirmed that Maria is receiving medical care, but claimed she 'entered a restricted construction site alone and fell from a height'. A statement many find hard to accept, given the disturbing rumours swirling around her disappearance.
Russian lawyer Katya Gordon, who has followed the case closely, bluntly alleged: "Model Maria Kovalchuk was found dying on the side of the road in the UAE after a party. The scandal with the Porta Potty parties has been raging for over a year."
Gordon and others allege that Maria may have been forced to take part in a sex act involving human faeces - a central theme of these "Porta-Potty" events, where humiliation and abuse are part of the package.
These parties reportedly involve women being paid vast sums of money to perform grotesque acts involving bodily fluids, degradation and pain.
Viral videos have helped expose this shadowy world, but the abuse is largely hidden by Dubai's shiny reputation and strict censorship laws.
With the rise of "Porta-Potty" stories, experts have warned of red flags to watch out for when travelling to Dubai:
Beware of unverified agents offering large sums of money for vague modelling work.
Never agree to travel alone to private parties or accept all-expenses-paid trips without vetting the hosts.
Check in regularly with friends or family, and always share your location.
Avoid entering private hotel rooms, villas, or yachts with strangers, especially late at night.
Understand the legal risks: Dubai has strict laws, and foreign women can still be charged with public indecency, adultery or prostitution, even if coerced.
Maria's mother told Ukrainian media: "She has no documents, no phone, nothing. She's had three operations. She can't speak. We were told she went to a party, but the promoter claims he never saw her. We're terrified of what really happened."

Donkey Kong Bananza fan breaks game by painting the cartridge yellow
An overly enthusastic Donkey Kong fan has almost ruined their Nintendo Switch 2 by spray painting one of their game cartridges banana yellow. Donkey Kong Bananza is a great game and it's been a very long time since there was another big budget Donkey Kong title, so some fans, with a lot of nostalgia for the franchise, have got a bit carried away with themselves. One major point of conversation has been the game's placement in the wider Donkey Kong timeline or rather how it seems to contradict it entirely. We're not going to get into that again here, but some fans are oddly annoyed by the lack of consistency… even though the series has never had in-depth storylines. Another even stranger trend has been trying to paint the cartridge the game comes on yellow, like the Donkey Kong 64 one. That's not a very good idea though, as one fan in particular has discovered. The fan in question is one gardnerhartung, or merely Gardner, on TikTok who recently shared a video expressing disappointment that the physical game cartridge for Donkey Kong Bananza is the usual red colour, like other Switch 2 cartridges. His reasoning is that, back in the day, a couple of Donkey Kong games received unique yellow cartridges when they came out, specifically 1995's Donkey Kong Land for the Game Boy and 1996's Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64. It was a fun novelty, but it really was only those two games. Yet Gardner, in his own words, was 'displeased' with Bananza not following suit and filmed himself disassembling the cartridge so he can paint it yellow without damaging the game and its connection pins. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. The final result is admittedly authentic looking, but it ultimately proved fruitless since the cartridge would no longer fit into the console, either due to the extra layers of paint making it slightly bigger or it wasn't put back together properly. In a follow-up video, Gardner showed he was able to force the cartridge in eventually and, from the sound of things, actually play the game. But the cartridge is now stuck, and he can't remove it, with one attempt with a pair of metal pliers only breaking part of it off. While some of the comments do try to offer advice on how to remove the cartridge, there are unsurprisingly a lot of people mocking Gardner for even attempting any of this to begin with. The videos have gone viral enough to generate at least three separate Reddit threads, where plenty of people either insult Gardner or accuse him of just trying to draw attention. Whatever the case, Gardner appears to be taking has fame well. In a third video, where it seems he's about to address the mean comments and media coverage, he reveals he was sent a threatening email from Nintendo. Signed by 'John Nintendo himself', it says unless Gardner gets the cartridge removed by the end of the day, the company will take his house and brick his Switch 2 (admittedly, that second one is something Nintendo can actually do). He then shows that a second attempt at using the pliers was successful and has presumably left his Switch 2 undamaged, but the cartridge itself is in pieces. If there's any lesson to be learned from this, it's don't spray paint your games, especially with how expensive they are nowadays, although you'd think most people would know not to do that. More Trending In other Donkey Kong news, although Nintendo hasn't shared official sales figures yet, data by NielsenIQ and shared by The Game Business says Donkey Kong Bananza enjoyed the biggest opening week in the UK in the franchise's history… maybe. As it stands, 2010's Donkey Kong Country Returns (the original Wii game, not the Switch remaster) officially holds that record, but NielsenIQ admits it currently lacks data for how many copies of Bananza were sold directly from Nintendo's online store and the eShop. Even if Bananza has outperformed every other Donkey Kong game in the UK, that doesn't really mean much as the series has never done tremendously well over here. Although Donkey Kong Country helped the SNES to beat the Mega Drive (aka Genesis) in the US, during the 90s, it didn't have quite the same effect here, where it wasn't until the DS and Wii era when Nintendo really became popular in the UK. People are only just realising what Monster Munch shapes actually are
Monster Munch is a popular snack which many associate with their childhood, but it turns out there's a big debate when it comes to what shape they actually are - a foot or a monster A crisp fan is questioning everything they know after being told Monster Munch is actually a different shape than they originally thought. Monster Munch, the corn snack known for its distinctive shape and delicious flavours, including Pickled Onion and Roast Beef, is a classic. But there's long been a debate among snack lovers as to what the actual shape of it is. Some people might think it's very obvious, but the fact is, not everyone agrees. Some people believe Walkers ' Monster Munches are shaped like feet, while others think it's a monster with a head, legs and arms. One Monster Munch fan has come to the realisation they may be a different shape than they originally thought. Filming herself holding up a Monster Much to show the camera, TikTok content creator Tiffany wrote: "POV [point of view] you spent your whole childhood thinking Monster Munch where giant feet, to be told they're actual monsters." Originally holding it in a way which made it look like a foot with four toes, she simply flipped it upside down - and you can clearly see the big head with two arms and two legs. Food content creator @FoodWithASB also saw a similar video from someone else, and simply asked: "What is going on?" He explained that he used to love Monster Munch "so much as a kid", particularly the Pickled Onion flavour. He added: "If you've eaten a Monster Munch before you'll know that you always ate them this way up [with the toes pointing up], it looks like a foot or a claw or something. [...] "Wrong. We were all wrong. It turns out if you turn them upside down they are just a full-on monster. It actually makes so much sense. I don't know why I've never seen that before." This created a huge debate in the comment section, as many had no idea they could be seen as monsters. Others refused to believe it. "They're claws," said one person. Another added: "I refused to believe that my childhood has been ruined." "I thought they were claws," said a third. "I know that but still refuse to believe it," added another. Luckily, Walkers previously put an end to the debate about whether the iconic Monster Munch is the shape of a claw with four fingers, or a monster with two arms and legs. They actually put it to the fans to have a decisive say on the official shape with a poll on social media in 2020. More than 60,000 people had their say, with the 'Claw' shape emerging as the winner. Will Robinson at Walkers Snacks said: "Claw or Monster is a debate that has continued to divide British opinion as much as whether or not you put jam or cream on your scone first, or whether that famous dress was gold or blue. "Therefore we felt it was only right to settle the debate once and for all, through launching our 'Monster' and 'Claw' shaped packs and asking the fans to decide – and now they have spoken. "So moving forwards it won't be open to debate – they are officially 'claw' shaped forever more. Or until our innovation team gets restless, at least."

Risotto will be 'tastier' and made quicker with one key ingredient swap
Risotto is a classic dish, but this unique twist can make it even 'tastier' Risotto is a straightforward dish that demands little effort and focus, yet it can also serve as an incredibly handy recipe when your fridge supplies are running thin. It pairs beautifully with numerous ingredients, from meat, fish and seafood to vegetables and an array of cheeses, reports the Express. Nevertheless, one company has revealed their interpretation of the classic Italian meal that involves one significant substitution. In a recent TikTok clip, the Bold Bean Co chose to abandon the essential component of rice for something more aligned with their expertise: beans. They even gave it a completely fresh moniker. Bold Bean Co Said: "This is not a risotto, this is a bean-otto. If you haven't guessed, we're using beans instead of rice. "Just like a risotto, the starchiness and the stock you use are fundamental to its deliciousness." They wrote alongside the video: "BETTER THAN A RISOTTO. It's healthier, quicker and most importantly - TASTIER." For this bean-otto creation, the Bold Bean Co employs white beans or cannellini alongside fresh courgettes, garlic, "generous amounts" of Parmesan, crispy pine nuts, and a substantial drizzle of olive oil. The company remarked: "It is such a winner in this weather." Food enthusiasts expressed their opinions in the responses. Genevieve said: "Can't wait to try!" Gemma agreed, "Looks delicious," while Suzyd commented, "Since I tried your butter beans I can't eat any others! They are next level." If you fancy adding a twist to your conventional risotto, here's what you'll need. Creamy Courgette Beanotto Ingredients 1 jar of Organic White Beans/Queen Cannellini Beans with their bean stock 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra to serve 2 courgettes, one coarsely grated, one sliced into 0.5cm rounds 2 garlic cloves, finely grated Zest and juice of ½ lemon 1 heaped tbsp creme fraiche, or plant-based alternative 45g Parmesan cheese (or vegan alternative), plus extra to serve 15g parsley, leaves finely chopped A good handful of fresh basil leaves A handful of pine nuts or sunflower seeds (optional) Method Ensure you squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the grated courgettes. Toast the pine nuts in a dry pan for two to three minutes until they turn golden, then set them aside. Warm two tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced courgettes with a pinch of salt and cook for seven to eight minutes until they start to brown, stirring occasionally. Next, add the grated courgette and garlic and continue cooking for an additional two to three minutes until the courgettes soften. Grate in the zest of half the lemon. Pour in the beans along with their bean stock, rinse the jar quarter with water and pour that in as well - this serves as a stock. Stir everything together. Season generously with cracked black pepper. As the white beans are already well seasoned, we suggest tasting before adding any extra salt. Lower the heat and stir in the creme fraîche and parmesan. This process should be fairly quick as you don't want the creme fraîche to separate. Stir in the chopped parsley and tear in most of the basil leaves, reserving some for garnish. Check for seasoning and add the juice of half a lemon. Serve the beans into bowls, grate over some more lemon zest and additional parmesan. Sprinkle over the toasted pine nuts, the remaining basil and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
