Oh My Cream ! buys British beauty e-tailer Naturisimo
French beauty concept-store Oh My Cream ! continues to pursue its external growth strategy. After buying the Atelier Nubio brand following court proceedings at the beginning of the month, Oh My Cream ! has bought Naturisimo, a British e-tailer described as a 'clean beauty pioneer.'
'This acquisition is a unique opportunity to showcase Oh My Cream !'s philosophy and clean beauty range to a wider British audience. The Naturisimo community shares our values and passion for expert, effective and desirable beauty. We are delighted to welcome them to the Oh My Cream world,' said Juliette Lévy-Cohen, who founded Oh My Cream ! in 2013.
This strategic acquisition, whose value has not been divulged, marks a new milestone in the development of Oh My Cream !'s business in the UK, a market the brand entered in 2022 and where it currently operates three stores. By the end of the year, Oh My Cream ! is planning to open another two or three stores in the UK.
Naturisimo was founded in 2008 by Robert and Sophie Wills, and will officially become part of Oh My Cream ! in mid-May. Its website will redirect to ohmycream.co.uk, which sells brands such as Victoria Beckham Beauty, Herbivore Botanicals, Goop and Violette_FR, as well as Oh My Cream !'s proprietary brands Oh My Cream Skincare, Combeau and Atelier Nubio.
At the same time, brands featured on Naturisimo, such as Innersense, Evolve, Madara and Dr. Hauschka, will be added to Oh My Cream !'s assortment in the UK.
Oh My Cream ! said it is definitely open to future external growth opportunities aimed at broadening its proprietary brand portfolio and strengthening its position in key European markets.
The firm is backed by the Eutopia and Experienced Capital investment funds, and reportedly generates a revenue of approximately €40 million. The brand has 31 concept stores between France, the UK and Belgium, and is planning new openings in Paris in the near future.

France's top porn sites protest new age verification rules by blacking out
French visitors to major adult websites Pornhub, YouPorn and RedTube were met Wednesday with a message denouncing privacy risks from government demands that they verify users' ages. 'Your government suggests checking your age every time you visit our site – that's crazy, right?' asked a message displayed on Pornhub in place of the platform's usual torrent of explicit content. It was topped with an image of the bare-breasted allegorical figure of Liberty brandishing the French flag from Eugene Delacroix's 1830 painting 'Liberty Leading the People'. France has this year gradually introduced requirements for all adult websites to have users confirm their age with details like a credit card or ID document, aiming to prevent minors from accessing pornography. 'Unacceptable security risks' In a bid to preserve privacy, operators must offer a third-party 'double-blind' option that would keep the platforms themselves from seeing users' identifying information. But Pornhub parent company Aylo says this is an ineffective mechanism that puts people's data at risk from bad actors, hacks or leaks. 'Requiring you to repeatedly provide sensitive personal information creates an unacceptable security risk that we refuse to impose on our users,' the message read. The platform argues that the French law also 'diverts users to thousands of sites that deliberately circumvent regulations' and that fail to moderate videos for issues like the age and consent of performers. 'Let them go' Aylo has called for governments to instead have makers of operating systems like Apple, Microsoft and Google verify users' ages at the level of individual devices. An 'age signal' from the operating system could then be used to grant or deny access to adult content without compromising privacy, the company argues. 'Let (Pornhub, YouPorn and RedTube) go,' France's digital affairs minister Clara Chappaz said in a statement. 'They can come back the day they're ready to finally respect our rules.' Women's rights group Osez le feminisme (Dare to be Feminist) said in a statement that 'this multi-billion-dollar industry prefers to mobilise its resources to fight any attempt at regulation... rather than give up the free, unconditional access that feeds its business model.'

Sephora to open at Meadowhall next month
After the fanfare that accompanied the opening of Sephora's latest flagship opening in Liverpool, another is being prepared for Meadowhall Sheffield next month… then Manchester Arndale in the summer… and Cardiff St David's Centre in the autumn. '2025 is shaping up to be one of our most exciting (and busiest) years yet at Sephora UK,' said Sarah Boyd, managing director, Sephora UK. 'And bringing our beauty playground to Sheffield is a huge part of that momentum'. So next month (11 July) the French beauty retail giant opens its doors competing head-to-head with the new Superdrug, which opened there just last week (and whose owner is investing heavily in a further 25 new UK stores in 2025). Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: 'The iconic brand will be a fantastic addition to our premium beauty offering and, alongside our other recent openings including Bershka, Frasers, and Oliver Bonas, reinforces our position as one of the UK's top shopping destinations.'

HeyDude boosts visibility in France with Galeries Lafayette Haussmann pop-up space
HeyDude, acquired at the end of 2021 by US footwear brand Crocs, has increased its visibility with a new initiative on the French market. HeyDude's comfy, lightweight shoes have featured at the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann department store in Paris with two pop-up spaces: one on the first floor, within the men's footwear section, and another on the fourth floor, in womenswear. HeyDude's pop-up spaces are characterised by the colours blue and peach and by decorative elements with a patisserie theme, and showcase various models, like the NXT, a new-look, comfortable urban moccasin, the Austin Lift, a mule designed in collaboration with actor Sydney Sweeney (priced at approximately €85) and the minimalist, lightweight Comf shoes. 'This Parisian presence marks a new milestone in the global expansion of HeyDude, which continues to win over new markets with its DNA: Ultra-light, easy-to-wear shoes designed for everyday life, with a touch of fun,' said HeyDude. By featuring in the heart of Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, HeyDude, already present in France via retailers such as Besson, is putting the emphasis on its directional vibe. The brand also sells a children's line, and regularly drops collaboration with a tongue-in-cheek feel, for example with franchises like Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob and Smiley. HeyDude was founded in Italy in 2008 by Alessandro Rosano, and was acquired by Crocs at the end of 2021 for $2.5 billion. The brand, whose main markets are the USA and its birthplace, Italy, recorded a revenue of $824 million (€726 million) in 2024, down 13.2%.
