Fuming holidaymakers catch Brits securing sunbeds 7 hours before pool opens
A group of fuming holidaymakers foiled a sneaky plan by fellow Brits to secure sunbeds seven hours before their hotel pool opened.
Whilst enjoying a late-night chat on their balcony, Mandy Boyd spotted some lads she thought were taking a cheeky dip in the pool.
However, on further inspection, the 34-year-old noticed the young men were attempting to secure the best beds at 2am. The pool was actually not opening until 9am the following day.
The group of four girls watched on as the lads pulled out their sunloungers to try and secure the best spots. Mandy and her friends quietly waited on the balcony for the perfect moment to run down and take the towels.
The hilarious sunbed wars foiling took place around 2am at the Aquasol Aparthotel, Palmanova, near Magaluf, Spain.
Accompanied by her friend, Sally Willows, the pair got down to the pool and quickly snatched the towels on Sunday night.
'We're just doing the Lord's work,' Mandy of Bridgend, South Wales, told Luxury Travel Daily. 'I hate it when people reserve sunbeds and don't use them all day.
'I just find it really inconsiderate. It was shocking to see them reserving beds at 2am, especially when there was zero chance of those lads being up to enjoy them. We kept the towels, but made sure we left them where they would find them.'
Fellow holidaymakers applauded the girls' foiling of sun bed wars. Jo Townsend said: "Guarantee they wouldn't have come down to the pool until about 11am as well.'
Sue added: 'You have taken sunbed wars to a whole new level.' Jaynie said: 'Well done ladies.'
Lou said: 'B*oody hell girls, this is taking sunbed wars too far.' One added: 'You should've left a ransom note.'

'I bought breakfast in Spain and thought the price was a joke'
Tenerife has long been a favourite holiday destination for Irish tourists, and despite rising concerns about costs and over-tourism, many holidaymakers are still finding incredible value on the island. The Canary Island hotspot, which welcomed over 7 million visitors last year - including a strong Irish contingent -, is set to introduce a new 'eco tax' in 2026 aimed at protecting Mount Teide - Spain's tallest mountain and one of Tenerife's most iconic natural attractions. The charge will apply to those wanting to access the protected national park area as part of a broader effort to curb over-tourism and preserve the island's natural treasures. While there's been online chatter about rising costs for food and drink, one expat living on the island is pushing back on those claims. Speaking on TikTok, the British travel worker highlighted just how affordable Tenerife still is - especially compared to Ireland and the UK. Filming from Los Cristianos, a popular resort town beloved by the Irish, he showed off a hearty full English breakfast he picked up in local cafe La Tasca 7 for just €4.60. The plate came piled with two sausages, two rashers, toast, tomato and fried eggs - minus baked beans by choice. The sizeable feast, served on a "big plate" complete with HP sauce and enjoyed against the backdrop of the ocean, came at what he hailed an unbelievable bargain. He exclaimed: "That's the price of one pint in the UK and I've got a full English breakfast, in the sun, for [the same price]. How do they even make money selling it this cheap?". WIZZ Air has unveiled a new route between Birmingham and a pretty European city lots of Bris will have never have heard of. The flights will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays from October 28, with fares starting from £17.99. The flight would take just over three hours. Sibiu has a wealth of different places to explore. WizzAir also recently announced a new route between Birmingham and Rome, Italy, which is due to commence service on June 16.
