Fuming holidaymakers catch Brits securing sunbeds 7 hours before pool opens

A group of fuming holidaymakers foiled a sneaky plan by fellow Brits to secure sunbeds seven hours before their hotel pool opened. Whilst enjoying a late-night chat on their balcony, Mandy Boyd spotted some lads she thought were taking a cheeky dip in the pool. However, on further inspection, the 34-year-old noticed the young men were attempting to secure the best beds at 2am. The pool was actually not opening until 9am the following day. The group of four girls watched on as the lads pulled out their sunloungers to try and secure the best spots. Mandy and her friends quietly waited on the balcony for the perfect moment to run down and take the towels. The hilarious sunbed wars foiling took place around 2am at the Aquasol Aparthotel, Palmanova, near Magaluf, Spain. Accompanied by her friend, Sally Willows, the pair got down to the pool and quickly snatched the towels on Sunday night. 'We're just doing the Lord's work,' Mandy of Bridgend, South Wales, told Luxury Travel Daily. 'I hate it when people reserve sunbeds and don't use them all day. 'I just find it really inconsiderate. It was shocking to see them reserving beds at 2am, especially when there was zero chance of those lads being up to enjoy them. We kept the towels, but made sure we left them where they would find them.' Fellow holidaymakers applauded the girls' foiling of sun bed wars. Jo Townsend said: "Guarantee they wouldn't have come down to the pool until about 11am as well.' Sue added: 'You have taken sunbed wars to a whole new level.' Jaynie said: 'Well done ladies.' Lou said: 'B*oody hell girls, this is taking sunbed wars too far.' One added: 'You should've left a ransom note.'

Livid Brits take 'sunbed wars to a whole new level' with sneaky 2am tactics

Mandy Boyd and her friends spotted a group of lads trying to reserve the best sunbeds in the early hours of the morning at their hotel in Spain - so decided to foil their sneaky plan A group of irate holidaymakers thwarted a cunning plan by fellow Brits to bag sunbeds seven hours before their hotel pool opened on a recent Spain holiday. While having a late-night chinwag on their balcony, Mandy Boyd spotted some lads she thought were having a cheeky swim in the pool. But upon closer inspection, the 34 year old realised the young men were trying to nab the best beds at 2am, despite the fact that the pool wasn't due to open until 9am the next day. ‌ The quartet of girls watched as the lads dragged out their sunloungers to try and secure prime spots. Mandy and her mates patiently waited on the balcony for the perfect moment to dash down and swipe the towels. ‌ The comical sunbed wars sabotage took place around 2am at the Aquasol Aparthotel, Palmanova, near Magaluf, Spain. Joined by her mate, Sally Willows, the pair dashed down to the pool and swiftly grabbed the towels. "We're just doing the Lord's work," Mandy from Bridgend, South Wales, told Luxury Travel Daily. "I can't stand it when people reserve sunbeds and don't use them all day. "I find it really inconsiderate. It was shocking to see them reserving beds at 2am, especially when there was no chance of those lads being up to enjoy them. We kept the towels, but made sure we left them where they would find them." Fellow holidaymakers applauded the girls' thwarting of the sun bed wars. Jo Townsend said: "Guarantee they wouldn't have come down to the pool until about 11am as well." Sue chimed in with a cheeky comment, "You have taken sunbed wars to a whole new level." Meanwhile tourist Jaynie praised the antics, saying, "Well done ladies." ‌ Fellow sunseeker Lou also couldn't hide her astonishment, exclaiming, "B*oody hell girls, this is taking sunbed wars too far." Another onlooker suggested with a hint of mischief, "You should've left a ransom note." ‌ The 'sunbed wars' have become a classic - videos of people frantically rushing to get their towels down on sunloungers by the pool regularly emerge during the peak holiday seasons. Tensions arise when people leave their towels on sunbeds but don't return for hours at a time, leaving other holidaymakers unable to enjoy the pool despite there being empty beds. Just recently, holidaymakers were spotted using a sneaky tactic before the pool staff had even laid out the loungers, with other tourists slamming the "pathetic" behaviour. Meanwhile in Spain, there have been a number of measures introduced to stop the practice on beaches including hefty fines for rule-breakers. Police will also remove items from the beaches that are left unattended for hours, so tourists will then need to head to a municipal depot to get their belongings back. The rules aren't just for those laying out a towel, but apply to anyone who is trying to keep a spot unattended for over three hours.

The hilarious sunbed wars battle took place at the Aquasol Aparthotel, Palmanova, near Magaluf, Spain, with Mandy and her friends managing to get the last laugh. Another remarked: 'B*oody hell girls, this is taking sunbed wars too far.' The Sunbed Wars of 2025 appear to be in full swing as Brits head abroad, hoping to soak up a bit of sun. Last month, crowds on a popular Turkish beach watched on as a tourist who decided not to buy a sunbed was beaten up by a resort worker. More Trending The tourist, reportedly British, had been enjoying the sun at Damlatas Beach, Antalya, when he asked the employee how much a sun lounger rental would be. After discovering the price, it's said he declined, before placing his things on the sand – the employee told him to move his things away from the resort, but the tourist refused, and violence broke out. And at a resort in Lanzarote, one woman screamed, 'You picked on the wrong person' and threatened to speak to the manager. That encounter was caught on camera by Callum Lines, 31, after a Scottish woman marched over to a woman on a sunbed, declaring that she had taken her spot. It comes after British holidaymakers were seen queuing for over an hour in a bid to secure the best poolside spots at a Canary Islands resort. Sunseekers armed with towels, suncream, and flipflops were captured in bizarre footage on May 28 lining up for the pool at the Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort, Las Palmas, Spain. It appears the sunbed wars are now in full swing with hotel guests setting alarms extra early just to form queues to the pool area until staff give them the all clear. The queue of people has become a regular morning routine for holidaymakers at the Spanish hotel according to guests. Isabelle Hanssen, whose balcony overlooks the pool watched on at the pool goers eagerly waited in line. According to the halfpipe skier, the queue is usually made up of Brits with a few Germans also standing in line. Isabelle, from the Netherlands, also revealed that the queues start from as early as 8am despite the pool not opening until 9:30am.
