India vs Pakistan: Asia Cup 2025 match will not be cancelled due to...

India vs Pakistan. (PIC - X) Indian men's cricket team will travel to the United Arab Emirates in September to play the 2025 Asia Cup. Indian men's cricket team will start their campaign on September 10 against the UAE in Dubai and then arch-rivals Pakistan in their second Group A match on Sunday, September 14 in the Asia Cup 2025. Where and when is India vs Pakistan? India's previous T20I match was played against Pakistan on June 9, 2024, at New York in the T20 World Cup 2024. The India-Pakistan game in Dubai on September 14 is also likely to go ahead as scheduled by the Asia Cup committee despite strained relations between the two countries. What do Indian fans want? The majority of Indian supporters believe that Men in Blue do not have to play against Pakistan and can just leave the game like India Champion players did in the recently concluded World Championship of Legends. Why India vs Pakistan will not be cancelled? But according to Subhan Ahmed, chief operating officer of Emirates Cricket Board, the same is not going to happen in the Asia Cup. 'We can't make any guarantees, but comparing the Asia Cup against a private event like the WCL is not a like comparison,' Subhan was quoted as saying by The National. 'When decisions to play in the Asia Cup are taken, government permissions are taken in advance. That has definitely been done before arriving at the decision of announcing the schedule for the countries. So hopefully we won't be in a situation as there was at the WCL,' he added. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Comeback Delayed After This Big 'Request' From Current Players: Report

After the India vs England Test series, that ended on Monday, Shubman Gill and co. were next supposed to face Bangladesh in T20I and ODI series in August. However, the BCCI deferred the series to September, 2026, "taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams." Then, there were reports that the BCCI has got an offer from Sri Lanka regarding a T20I and an ODI series in August. Had that series taken place, it would have seen the comeback of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who last played the Champions Trophy in February. Both players are active only in ODIs as of now. However, the series in Sri Lanka is not happening, according to a report in TOI, as the players have been given 'complete rest' following a two-month long series where all five Test matches went till the fifth day. If the report is true, Team India will only resume action with the Asia Cup, that will be played in a T20 format starting from September 9. The first scheduled ODI series in the nearest future starts on October 19 in Australia. It effectively means the return of Kohli and Rohit will not happen before the third week of October unless a new series is announced. "The players requested for a break after the England series. There is a hectic international schedule for India from Sept, which also involves going to Australia for a white-ball series in Oct," sources said. Meanwhile, Former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly gave a clear verdict on the Shubman Gill-led side drawing the Test series against England without top stalwarts like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Ganguly said that 'Indian cricket stops for no one' and pointed out that youngsters have stepped up and filled the void left by the star cricketers. "Indian cricket stops for no one. There is so much talent. Look at the way they all batted. Outstanding. That is how Indian cricket is. When Sunil Gavaskar left, Sachin Tendulkar came. As did Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman. When they left, Virat Kohli emerged. And when Kohli left, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Gill stood up. Indian cricket has so much talent that this will only keep on growing. We have a tremendous system, where domestic cricket is so strong. The IPL is such a platform. Then there is the A team, Under-19 team as well," Ganguly told Sports Tak.

Rishabh Pant ruled out of Asia Cup, West Indies Tests after Manchester injury; surgery not required

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is reportedly ruled out of the impending Asia Cup and "possibly" for the home Test series against West Indies that follows, owing to the injury he incurred during the fourth Test match of the recently-concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series against England in Manchester. India's Rishabh Pant was injured during the Manchester Test match against England(PTI) The 17th edition of the Asia Cup will be played between September 9 and 28 in the UAE. Less than a week after the conclusion of the continental tournament, the Test series against the West Indies will start. India will play only two Tests in that series, between October 2 and 14. According to a report in the Times of India, Pant will not be part of either event after suffering from a toe fracture during the Test series against England. The incident happened during India's batting innings at Old Trafford, when a yorker from Chris Woakes struck his foot. He was immediately carted off the field and rushed to the hospital, where medical scans revealed that he suffered a fracture and was ruled out of action for six weeks. However, he braved the pain and hobbled down the next day to continue his knock, as he scored a fifty to help India draw the match. Pant was eventually ruled out of the final Test, where India pulled off a magnificent six-run heist at The Oval against England to end the five-match series on a 2-2 draw. The report added that Pant would not require any surgery. India will start its campaign against UAE on September 10 and are likely to play all its matches in Dubai. India, Pakistan, UAE and Oman are clubbed in group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong are in group B. This edition of the Asia Cup will be held in T20 format as is the convention with the next ICC global meet being T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
