CM sets 15-day deadline for resolving undisputed inheritance cases
Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday stressed the need to fast-track the settlement of revenue disputes and set a deadline of 15 days for resolving undisputed inheritance cases. The CM also directed officials to expedite the digitisation of land records.
"Undisputed inheritance cases should be resolved within 15 working days. All pending cases related to Khatauni, Aadhaar seeding, farmer registry, measurement and Khasra investigation also need to be completed within the set time frame. If required, additional manpower should be allocated," Yogi told officials during a review meeting of the revenue department.
He called the measures key to public trust, investment and transparent governance.
The CM said urban land data should be uploaded on portal on priority basis.

"The Revenue Council portal should be redesigned to make it user-friendly," Yogi said and called for creation of an integrated dashboard so that officials from the level of lekhpal to commissioner could monitor it conveniently.
He also directed officials to display land use data of authorities in Khatauni and simplify the land use change process under Section 80 to ensure greater transparency.
Calling for full automation of transfer cases, the CM said the process has the potential to provide citizens with timely justice. He also asked for technical intervention in the consolidation process.
The CM was informed that the department issued over 36 lakh caste, residence and income certificates last year, with 85% processed online within seven working days.
Yogi also praised the department for its "swift response" during natural disasters, noting that over 3.5 lakh affected families received assistance through DBT in 2023-24. He directed the department to complete the disposal of all pending applications under the
Mukhyamantri Krishak Accident Welfare Scheme
within the next 10 working days.

Eight yrs after inception, 7,310 plaints in MahaRERA backlog
Eight years after its formation in 2017,the state's real estate regulator, MahaRera, is still grappling with a significant backlog of unresolved complaints. Of 29,374 complaints filed so far, 7,310 remain pending, prompting calls from homebuyers, legal experts, and activists for faster redressal and stricter enforcement of orders. Although MahaRera has resolved 21,888 cases and holds online and offline hearings, the increasing number of unresolved cases has alarmed consumer groups. They stressed the need for appointment of more adjudicating officers and setting up of regional benches to manage the growing caseload. MahaRera has registered over 50,000 real estate projects — the highest among state regulators — with nearly 50% of them located in Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Pune. However, stakeholders argued that this operational scale has not been matched by adequate capacity to address consumer grievances. Currently, MahaRera has one chairperson, two members, and three adjudicating officers. Activist Godfrey Pimenta of the Watchdog Foundation pointed out that this limited setup cannot cope with the volume of complaints. PM Modi to begin 3-nation tour from Cyprus today
File photo: PM Modi (Photo: ANI) NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi will travel to Cyprus on Sunday for the first leg of his three-nation tour that will see him participating in the G7 Summit in Canada and also visiting Croatia on his way back. Modi is also expected to have several bilateral meetings on the margins of the summit in Kananaskis. While the PM will have a meeting with his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney, his other bilateral engagements are still being worked out, official sources said. Modi will also come face to face with US President Donald Trump for the first time since their meeting in Feb. The ministry of external affairs said in a statement that the visit to Cyprus - the first by an Indian PM since AB Vajpayee visited the country in 2002 - will reaffirm the shared commitment of the two countries to deepen bilateral ties and strengthen India's engagement with the Mediterranean region and the European Union. The visit to Cyprus is significant also as it comes in the middle of India's tensions with Turkiye over the latter's support to Pakistan.
