Al-Ikhbariya Syria is now available as part of the Es'hail-2 channel bouquet, joining a growing lineup of premium regional content aimed at diverse viewers across the Arab world.
Es'hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, has expanded its broadcasting portfolio with the addition of Syria's Al-Ikhbariya TV channel to its video distribution platform via the Es'hail-2 satellite at the 26° East orbital position. This move reinforces Es'hailSat's commitment to providing a broad range of content across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by enhancing accessibility to Syrian public broadcasting.
The new partnership brings Al-Ikhbariya Syria, the news-focused channel operated by Syria's state media body—the General Organisation for Radio and Television (ORTAS)—to viewers throughout the MENA region. With the Es'hail-2 satellite's optimised coverage footprint, the channel gains increased exposure and access to a wider audience. The agreement also includes satellite contribution and occasional-use services via Es'hail-1, along with distribution through Es'hail-2 and teleport support from Es'hailSat's Tier-4 certified teleport facility based in Doha.
ORTAS, founded in 1960 and operating under Syria's Ministry of Information, runs multiple TV and radio services, including Al-Ikhbariya Syria, which launched in 2010 as a channel dedicated to national and international news. The organisation produces content in Arabic, English and French and is fully government-funded, maintaining an editorial stance aligned with state policy.
Ali Ahmed Al-Kuwari, President and CEO, Es'hailSat, said: 'Es'hailSat is delighted to welcome Syria's Al-Ikhbariya TV channel and bring on board Syria's public broadcaster to our satellite hotspot. We believe that the reliability and expertise in providing satellite services by Es'hailSat aligns perfectly with ORTAS' vision to serve as the primary state and public broadcaster, providing comprehensive and reliable information to the Syrian public.'
The channel is now part of the Es'hail-2 channels bouquet, which further adds to the lineup of premium content currently broadcast via Es'hail-2 satellite.
