Eileen Fulton, ‘As the World Turns' soap star, dies at 91
Fulton died July 14 in Asheville, N.C., after a period of declining health, according to an obituary posted by Groce Funeral Home in North Carolina.
She would become one of the longest-serving soap opera actors, playing Lisa with only a few interruptions from 1960 until the show's end in 2010. Fulton played the character as a villain, telling The Times in 1990 that Lisa was initially 'a conniving, screaming witch' who 'lied and wanted everything her way,' a characterization that led fans to scorn her. Throughout the course of the show, Lisa was married eight times.
But over time, Lisa evolved and 'matured and learned from her mistakes.' Fulton said she began to receive 'love letters' from fans who admired the character's spunk.
Fulton was inducted into the Soap Opera Hall of Fame in 1998 and received a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
Fulton was born Margaret Elizabeth McLarty on Sept. 13, 1933 in Asheville. The daughter of a Methodist minister and a public school teacher, she graduated from Greensboro College in 1956 with a bachelor's degree in music and performed in an outdoor drama in North Carolina before moving to New York to pursue a career in acting, according to her obituary.
She later adopted the stage name Eileen Fulton, and in 1960, she was cast in the drama 'Girl of the Night.'
In addition to her soap opera career, Fulton had a cabaret act for years in New York and Los Angeles.
She retired in 2019 and moved to Black Mountain, N.C. She is survived by her brother, Charles Furman McLarty, a niece and other family members.

Y&R Gives Chance a Shocking Sendoff as Conner Floyd Relocates to Days — Read His Full Statement to Fans
We knew that Conner Floyd's time on The Young and the Restless was coming to an end, as the actor is moving over to Days of Our Lives in 2026, but we didn't think Chance would be leaving Genoa City quite like this. Upon being exposed as Damian's killer, Carter also attempted to put Cane in the ground on Monday's episode of the long-running CBS soap. Unfortunately, Chance intervened and, for his efforts, was fatally shot. More from TVLine NCIS: Origins Season 2 Spoiler Alert...? ‘Love Island's' JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez, a fan-favorite duo, call it quits
JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez have gone from 'Love Island' to Splitsville. The pair of reality TV stars who kindled a romance last year on 'Love Island' Season 6 have called it quits, The Times confirmed Monday. Craig broke up with Rodriguez on Sunday, a day after they were among the guests at YouTube star David Dobrik's birthday party. 'They will not be getting back together,' a source confirmed to People. A representative for Craig declined to comment. The Times did not immediately hear back from Rodriguez. Though Craig and Rodriguez fell short of winning their season last year (fellow contestants Kordell Beckham and Serena Page took the prize), the pair continued their relationship off-screen. Craig opened up about her relationship with Rodriguez to People in October 2024, telling the magazine that time away from the cameras meant 'we can take our time.' 'We always forgot that there was cameras anyways so nothing's really changed,' she said at the time. Craig and Rodriguez's relationship came back into the 'Love Island' spotlight earlier this month for Peacock's 'Love Island: Beyond the Villa.' The series, which premiered July 13, follows the Season 6 contestants 'as they navigate new careers, evolving friendships, newfound fame, and complex relationships,' according to a press release for the show. Right before the premiere of 'Love Island: Beyond the Villa,' fans bid farewell to 'Love Island' Season 7 — which was notably marred by controversy. Two contestants — Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega — left the series weeks apart after they came under fire for their off-air use of racial slurs. The season ended with contestants Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales taking home the $100,000 grand prize.

Lisa Matches Her Bandmate Jennie For A Spot In Radio History
Lisa and Maroon 5's 'Priceless' hits 11 weeks on the Pop Airplay chart, tying Jennie's 'Like Jennie' ... More as the fifth-longest charting female K-pop soloist hit. Lisa at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show held at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on October 15, 2024 in New York, New York. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Variety via Getty Images) When Lisa teamed up with Maroon 5 for the band's single "Priceless," both acts surely knew they were headed for a hit on the Billboard charts. The Blackpink singer is one of the most famous women in the music industry, and her popularity alone would likely have been enough to turn the collaboration into a major win. Anticipation for Maroon 5's new chapter was also high, and radio programmers and DJs throughout the United States depend on the Grammy-winning act to produce the kind of smashes that people love to hear over and over, and it's common for the group's latest release to be put into heavy rotation. Months after "Priceless" arrived, the track is still present on a number of Billboard's airplay charts. As it holds on once more on the most competitive pop tally, Lisa matches one of her bandmates for a spot in the history books. Lisa Matches Her Blackpink Bandmate Jennie "Priceless" has now lived on the Pop Airplay chart for 11 weeks. As it reaches that landmark figure, Lisa's collaboration with Maroon 5 ties as the fifth-longest-running hit by a female K-pop solo musician in the history of the list. Lisa's poppy cut is now on the same level as "Like Jennie" by, appropriately, Jennie, who is also a member of Blackpink. 'Priceless' Will Likely Live on for Weeks While "Like Jennie" fell off the Pop Airplay ranking after 11 weeks, the same fate doesn't seem likely for "Priceless." Lisa and Maroon 5 are steady at No. 19 on the 40-spot roster at the moment, so even if the tune begins to drop, it will likely hold on for at least another frame or two…or perhaps many more. Rosé, Jennie and Lisa The longest run by any female K-pop soloist on the Pop Airplay chart is held by Rosé, yet another Blackpink superstar. Her team-up with Bruno Mars, 'Apt.,' lived on the list for 28 frames – almost 10 weeks longer than any other track that fits this description. In between that hit and both "Priceless" and "Like Jennie" come "Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)" by Lisa (19 weeks), "One of the Girls" by The Weeknd, Jennie, and Lily-Rose Depp (15 weeks), and "Toxic Till the End," another tune from Rosé's debut solo album Rosie, which managed 12 weeks on the roster. Lisa will likely pass Jennie's semi-self-titled cut and tie Rosé's "Toxic Till the End" in short order, and she could advance beyond that level in a week or so.
